Yes, would be fun to have access to games on those platforms!

Isn't there a Nintendo 64 emulator in the works on MorphOS? I think I remember reading about that a while back on Morphzone.

Setting up a games competition
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

Hi everyone,

I'm considering launching a gaming contest on my blog (Gaming on AmigaOS 4) with some small prices. Nothing big, just for fun.

A problem though is to make it fair and correct to everyone participating. We could do screenshots here in this thread, but the ideal would be an Online highscore list of some kind where the scores are drawn directly from the game. The games on AmiBoing by Entwickler X are great in this respect, but not all of us have access to them. There is also Battle Squadron, but once again, not easy to get hold of these days.

I was therefore wondering if any of you have any suggestions or input in connection with this? Would be great to hear what you think. If you think posting scores or screenshots in a thread is ok, we can do that. It is not like anyone would get rich from winning a game or something, hehe.

Will do some promotion for this on other sites too - maybe it can get some people to turn on their AmigaOne's or Sam's again to join in on the fun.

@Cageman

I agree with you there! The Mini is a good choice for people just wanting a plug and play solution to play some classic games. Good to hear that it now supports ADF's, that should come in handy.

Anyone running Linux on Sam440 / Sam440 Flex?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone is running Linux on a Sam440 or Sam440 Flex?

I'm curious about how Linux would work on my computer, so thought I'd ask here about which version you recommend using.

Thanks in advance!

List of where to buy AmigaOS 4.x systems
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

Hi everyone,

I was inspired by number6 in a thread over at Amiga.org concerning the availability of AmigaOS 4.x compatible systems for purchase.

Due to this, I have checked out different shops and also contacted them for more information. I aim to keep the list updated in the future.

If you are interested in having a look, you can find it here:

https://amigaos4gaming.com/2022/05/29/ ... s-4-x-compatible-systems/

The first company to reply was Relec, which provided information about AmigaOne X5040 and that you can pre-order the new Sam460LE "The Red One".

Update May 30th: Updated with replies from Amedia Computer, Alinea and Amiga on the Lake.

Glad you got it working!

Also thanks for visiting my blog, much appreciated! I will do an update soon (new AOS 4 monthly report).

Good selection of games too. I'm sure they will be interested in Tower 57, but also Stunt Car Racer since they did an episode on the game not long ago. They are probably not aware that we have this one on AOS 4. If I may suggest a couple more titles, I'd like to recommend Battle for Wesnoth and Giana's Return - The Great Giana Sisters remake, both very good titles. Best of luck on Boatfest and hope that everything will go well with connecting to the network there.

@levellord

Cool that you will be attending Boatfest! Hope you'll have a great time. Would be brilliant if you could show Boat and Aaron some AmigaOS 4 action!

I can confirm that a WiFi repeater works well. Have used such a setup for years and it is very handy when it comes to getting various computers Online without any fuzz. Right now I have a Sam hooked up to it with an Ethernet cable and it is stable and fine. My repeater is a D-Link one, but can't remember the model at the top of my head.

Greaseweazle V4 on AmigaOS 4.x?
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

Hi everyone,

Found the following item for sale at AmigaKit:

Read and write Amiga format floppy disks using a PC or Mac !

Plug a floppy disk drive into Greaseweazle and then connect it to a USB port. Use the software to read or write an Amiga format floppy disk - it even supports ADF files.

This adapter is great for backing up Amiga floppies to image files.

Greaseweazle allows versatile floppy drive control over USB. By extracting the raw flux transitions from a drive, any disk format can be captured and analysed - PC, Amiga, Amstrad, PDP-11, musical instruments, industrial equipment, and more. The Greaseweazle also supports writing to floppy disks, from a range of image file formats including those commonly used for online preservation (ADF, IPF, DSK, IMG, HFE, ...).)

https://amigakit.amiga.store/greaseweazle-p-91279.html

Back in 2021 AmigaKit wrote about doing some investigations concerning getting this to work on AmigaOS 4. Anyone knows if they've done any progress?

https://forum.amiga.org/index.php?topic=75366.0

Personally I'd love to see the Greaseweazle supported on AmigaOS 4. Anyone else interested in this?

Yeah the Daewoo is my original monitor that I used for my first PC in the 90s. I had to change the flyback in it recently. It's certainly not a great crt by any means. That is the checkmate inside is a 500 rev6, aca500+, aca 1233n and fpu, gbapi video card in the zorro expander and megachip.

To the left of the screen I have amiga 1000, to the right of th3 checkmate I have a 600 in a micronik II tower, vampire v2, ecs indivision, clock port, cd drive, hacked lyra 3. Need to get around to setting up my 1200 tower project too but fitting the mediator board along with the indivision and fast ata is kind of a nightmare.

I have almost stopped using my classic machines since getting my AmigaOnes.

Cool that you still have your old monitor. My first screen was a Sanyo TV for my MSX. Wish I still had that one.

That Checkmate build sounds nice! Which OS are you running on it? AmigaOS 3.2?

Interesting collection too, especially with an Amiga 600 in a tower!

@cha05e90

Nice! What are the specs of the computer with the ACube logo on the right?

@NinjaCyborg

You misunderstand me. What I mean is that you need a special subscription for WordPress.com to install plugins. The plan is called "Business" and costs $25 a month. I do not have that plan and while the Disqus plugin is free, I can not install it.

@NinjaCyborg

Thanks for the suggestion. I had a look at the options on Wordpress, but installing Discuss apparantly requires a more enhanced subscription. I'm not hosting the website myself, but using a more simple Wordpress setup. Have removed the need for registration and a valid e-mail for commenting though.

Both looks great! Thanks for sharing!

What kind of graphics cards have you installed?

I also see a Daewoo screen in the background on top of a desktop case. What kind of computer is that?

Hi everyone,

Yesterday evening I moved my Sam440-Flex into a new tower and I'm very happy with the result. Thought I'd post it here:

You can also read about it here

How does your AmigaOS 4.x computer(s) look? And how about Workbench? Would be cool if you posted them here for all to see.

PS: Did not manage to include images. Just came up as links. Have to go now.... Will try to add later.. Very embarrassed.
