@acefnq

Did you try with "AmigaInput from Anywhere" if they don't recognize Joystick?

@lazi

I rolled back to the AmigaInput from AmigaOS 4.0 on AmigaOS 4.1 just to be able to use joysticks, but now my system gets unstable when opening the Input prefs when wanting to change the keymap to cyrillic :( May be because of the old version of AmigaInput.library is not compatible with the newers AmigaOS 4.1 components.

@LiveForIt

The Amiga was powerful enough to handle C and many games where written in pure C with assembler parts only where necessary for speed. Even big hit comercial titles like Lionheart where written in C. Some games are written in BASIC too. So assembler was not the only language used for serious development on the Amiga. It was cool yes, but even in the glory days of the Amiga it was sometimes skipped for easier to handle languages.

E-UAE on AmigaOS 4.1 crashes when opening the config file, if you delete the config file or start it from the config GUI it works right away.

NewsCoaster (v1.63 AmigaOS4) works here on AmigaOS 4.1. The same NewsCoaster from my old AmigaOS 4.0 install.
Edit: Errrm, not quite. Opening message crashes the whole AmigaOS 4.1!

I have problem with AmigaInput. The two USB Joysticks are recognized and shown but their input is not. I can select them from software but can not play on them. Copying AmigaInput settings libraries and devs, from AmigaOS 4.0 makes the one Joystick work with recognized input, but with the bugs of AmigaInput in OS 4.0.

Have you tried to disable the primary IDE bus in U-Boot and then boot from the CD? If this don't work, change the CD jumper from Slave to Master and try again.

Today, I am browsing for several hours already and I found myself using OWB more than the good old IBrowse. Now with OWB 2.8 I don't need anymore the windows machine at work to check some personal stuff. I can take all my personal stuff back to home again. Thanks to OWB. Only if download/upload is implemented I think I can ditch IBrowse and AWEB entirely and have a good browser at which my girlfriend wouldn't laught anymore. OWB renders very close to the Nokia N70 browser. Using the same engine? Too bad my Toshibo V9+i phone don't have WiFi so I can't test its browser.

@Troels

It's better if the software checks and if the OS version is too low to clean exit it. Many people try software out of curiousity and it's bad if it crashes. Also some time the software works (I remember running many AOS "2.0" programs on 1.3), so people love to try in hope. Crashing software because of OS version is ugly, especially when it bring down the whole system and you have to reboot.

Is it already at the distributors?
Because I pre-ordered it and want to know if OS 4.1 is already out in the trucks(airplanes) to the distributors or already there.

Re: OS4.1 photos from ANT

@Chris

Looking at the first picture I see many things are updated:

AmigaGuide.library - 18/09/2007 - newer than the one I have (18/12/2006)

AmigaInput - from 12/09/2007 - probably not newer than the version in the classic AmigaOS 4, which may make me purchase AmigaOS 4.0 classic, just for the AmigaInput, instead of waiting for more than 3 months.

asl.library - 04/07/2008 - very new (still hot).
avcodec.library - 30/01/2008 - new one.
bsdsocket.library - 26/08/2007 - probably not newer than in the classic AmigaOS 4 CD.

bullet.library - old.

codesets.library - 17/11/2007 - looks new.

commodities.library - 26/03/2008 - looks updated version.
datatypes.library - 31/03/2007 - looks old, but newer than the one I have.

Picasso96API.library - 23/06/2008 - very new. Probably including all this new features.

All in all looks many libraries are updated than the one I have here.

The HD I have been refered is the Amiga HD and the Atari icon HD that shows on the emulator Hatari.

With STonAmiga it shows Analog Out of Range on my LG Monitor so how can I adjust the resolution to make STonAmiga works fine?

Sorry, I haven't used STOnAmiga for a while and don't know how to change this. The version on OS4Depot is almost 3 years old and very outdated.

Quote:

Refering to the Hatari emulator I don't know very well
how to make it run the games I have.
What do you think about it?
Is it easy or not too easy?

It's very easy. Just select the image file of the game you want to run from the Hatari Menu then reboot the Atari - rAlt+r.

I will try the steps you give me later.
I'm so busy now and how can I setup the AmigaInput
to work with Atari ST emulators as well with other
software?

Once you setup AmigaInput properly, all the AmigaOS 4 software which supports it will work fine - Hatari, E-UAE, Super Mario Wars, WarpSNES, SimCoupe, Arnold, Atari800 (with lowlevel.library emulation).

Quote:

Several times I configured but my USB pad and CD32 controller does not function with my machine.

AmigaInput comes only with Update 4. I had a hard time making it work after the next updates. Can not give you a step by step solution.

Grateful to you really but I don't know well how to run software on the Atari ST.

Any ideas?

Visit some AtariST related sites about TOS and GEM. It's not harder than making Amiga games to work in E-UAE.

@MamePPCA1

Have you tryied the Warp3D GPU plugin? For games with not much textures it speeds up FPSE and makes the graphics look much better, but if there are too many textures, all the textures can't be fitted in the Graphic memory and use the standart Amiga memory, which slows the speed considerably and you should use the GPU pete driver for these games.

I have problems to run a pack of games I downloaded from
the net to play on the Atari ST emulators.

What format are these games? With Hatari I had no problems running all the Atari ST games I found on the net. Once you configure Hatari properly, everything works fine, even with Joystick via AmigaInput. The only problem I can think of which may arise is if you use the included in the archive EmuTOS which is not much compatible, especially with old games. You have to find original Atari TOS ROM - 2.06 works fine, but some of the older games work only with TOS 1.0x.

Quote:
I have trying to get these games running on Hatari and
STonAmiga but whit no luck.I was setting up a HD to install

What kind of HD you install? Is it Image file or standart Amiga Drawer on the Amiga File System? The latter is better - you unpack the archives directly in the Amiga drawer and run them from Hatari.

Quote:
So I want to run some games on Atari ST a?emulators out there to show how will it run on my Amiga One.

All the games I played on the AtariST run fine, and even some of the STE games work nice - like Obsession Pinball. The Falcon Games are still without sound (no DSP emulation yet), but I was able to run some falcon Software as well.

Quote:
What is the best configuration to run the games?
Can I run these with Floppy or may it be from the ST's HD?

Thanks in advance to the Amigans.

I use ROM - TOS 2.06, Screen Options - Use Borders, Zoom ST-low res. Frame skip: OFF (but you can use frame skip 1 for graphic intensive demos (plasmas with scrolls). Sound is at Medium Quality (22kHz), because I see no difference between it and the High (44kHz) quality with the YM emulation. The System is set to CPU type: 68000, Machine type: STE, CPU clock (MHz) - 8, Real time clock emulation and Patch Timer-D set. For Memory setup I have set 4 MB. For Joystick I use Generic USB Joystick and "use real joystick:" set. All the games play with the Joystick fine. For games STonAmiga is not good choise because it doesn't emulate the hardware, and the hardware banging games don't work on it. Only the system friendly software, like word processors and Sim City may be. You can't boot games directly from floppies with the Atari ST emulators (I never tryied and I don't have disk drive on my AmigaOne), but for file based games, you just copy the files from the disk to your harddrive and start them directly from there, or better make an image of the floppy.
