@VooDoo

I`ve notice a freeze (crash that you have to power off to restart) when joining channels with long string topics.
WookieChat 2.12 (27/09/2010) here running on Samm440Flex, 4.1FEu1

I just lost my Odyssey/bookmarks.html file due to a crash. I have OS4.1FE and FFS (DOS\07) partitions.
PartitionWizard is no longer functional, so what are the options now?

Even with these settings, there is still an error from the amiga side : "Unable to write to raw printer socket! Reason : `Problematic` pipe."

From the server side it appears as an encryption error: " Unable to encrypt connection from 192.168.x.x - An unexpected TLS packet was received."

CUPS is 1.7.5, I`m using OS4.1FE

The work-around I've found is to scan twice, then I can click and select the files again.

That`s how it works for me too.

Another thing I`ve noticed is a 100% CPU usage (CPUTemp.docky), after the update (I`ve tested the unpacked files and new versions are installed over the old ones, so the whole unpack/install process is ended).

Same here.

@ChrisH

The name, I leave it to you to decide.

Here is some first impressions on Sam440 & 4.1FE.
After clicking a URL, a "launch-handler 53.38" requester pops up with «"ENV:launch-handler/URL/WWW.LH" wrong command» error.
Clicking "confirm" (the only option available), a second requester appears with "Editing settings WWW.LH". There are two options : execute/cancel and clicking the former launches SYS:Prefs/URL.

The ENV:launch-handler/URL/WWW.LH :

;ClientName="IBROWSE" ClientPath="APPDIR:ibrowse" CMDFORMAT="URL=*"http://www.%s*""

Try removing the device, re plug and do a soft boot and see if it appears under prefs/amigainput/usb. This generally works for me. The xbox controller will not work but generic pads should be fine.

That`s my case, 6 years later (OS4.1FE) :
I replaced a fine working Logitech RX250 mouse with Ducky Secret. The new mouse was not recognised, it started working only after a "c:USBCtrl restart" .
I searched the fora and I found that modifying Kicklayout and substituting bootmouse and bootkeyboard modules with hid.usbfd should do the work.
It worked like a charm at first boot, but after starting AmigaInput my USB Joystick was not recognised anymore ( the old mouse and no modified kicklayout worked fine for both devices at boot, no need to do anything further ).
Now there are 2 options available :restart the USB stack in order to recognise the plugged joystick, or unplug & plug it in again. Not very elegant solution to a problem that wasn`t present before.

Any idea about Sam440's GPIO pinout? It could be used like RaspberryPi's GPIO (though not as accessible/usable).

Quote:

Can you print locally? Can you print from a non-Amiga to that shared printer over IPP?

Yes, I have print documents to the USB connected printer locally (browser page print and cups test page).
WinXP & iOS print successfully also (though I don`t know if it`s IPP protocol, or else).

Quote:

Which printer driver are you using on the Amiga?

I use PostScript (File & Generic, being the two other available)

Quote:

Make sure the settings match on both sides. In the PS driver, mode should be "Postscript". I have my paper size set to A4, same as it is in CUPS (and also because that's the paper it takes!):

The moment I select PostScript driver, everything is ghosted. I can only modify Borders,Density,Quality.

Quote:

I've seen a few references on Google to that error being resolved by installing GhostScript, so maybe that's the answer?

Ghostscript v9.06 is installed. The CUPS PPD file for the HP LaserJet 1018 (not a PCL printer) is included in the Foomatic/foo2zjs-z1 driver.

Quote:

Is there anything immediately above that line in the log?

No.

Re: lpr and OS4.1

@LyleHaze

My setup:

-HP1018 connected to Raspberry Pi 2 Model B, running latest raspbian (Jessie, Linux version 4.1.17) and cups v1.7.
-Sam440Flex, OS4.1FE & ppc lpr.device v44.6

devs:lpr.device is set to "HOST=192.168.RaspberryPi_IP RAW PORT=631"

The printer prints received jobs from other LAN computers, except AMIGA. The page is being sent remotely, but never print.
Checking the error_log file, appears to be an ssl error, probably due to the obsolete amigaos implementation, : "Unable to encrypt connection from 192.168.AMIGA_IP - An unexpected TLS packet was received."

I also tried the pp.device with the following error : "Returning IPP client-error-attributes-or-values-not-supported for Print-Job (ipp://192.168.RaspberryPi_IP:631/printers/HP_LaserJet_1018) from 192.168.AMIGA_IP

I`d like the boxed version. I tried to pre-order from the Cinemaware site, but I couldn`t complete the transaction, probably due to the economic situation here ( bank capital controls, since last summer ). I hope this resolves in 2016.

@Dandy

Yesterday I`ve managed to send a test email through stunnel (stunnel 3.8 on PTHREAD).
I used no encryption (YAM) and redirected the smtp to local host and a random port number (e.g 7000).
Then I run stunnel listening to that port, and forwarding to yahoo`s smtp ssl server and respective port.
Quote:

stunnel -d 7000 -f -c -r smtp.mail.yahoo.com:465

Not an elegant solution, but seemed to be working.

Re: Is it possible to have 2 Startup choices at boot time?
Just popping in

@Mikey_C

The way I did it:

DH0: OS4.1FE
DH3: OS4.1.6

The system boots by default DH0:

You may use kickedit or just any text editor.

In DH0: there is Kickstart/Kicklayout (OS4.1FE specific).
I added a dh0:kickstart/KE_Safe/AmigaOS_4.1.6/ directory with all the modules from DH3: ( OS41:Kickstart/#? ).

Now you have to edit the original OS4.1FE:Kickstart/Kicklayout file,
Quote:

; Format:
; ~~~~~~
; The file lists one or more configurations.

and add the 4.1.6 part at the end:
Quote:

.....
.....
.....
; Configuration name
LABEL AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6
; Exec name
EXEC Kickstart/loader
;
; PPC native modules
;
MODULE kickstart/KE_Safe/AmigaOS_4.1.6/kernel
.....
.....
.....
MODULE kickstart/KE_Safe/AmigaOS_4.1.6/BootDevice

Don`t forget to add the BootDevice module at the end with the partition value that contains 4.1.6 (DH3 in my case, without the ":")
Quote:

OS41FE:> type kickstart/KE_Safe/AmigaOS_4.1.6/BootDevice
DH3

This hopefully brings you the choice of the 2 versions on cold boot.

P.S. The uboot vars might be more transparent way to do this (by the book), I just posted the way it worked for me.

Re: Picasso96Mode screen problem

@Severin

I do have a CRT Multiscan monitor (Sony G200), but there are some questions that rose after this test:

1. Is the bug really fixed after the integration of rtg.library to the graphics.library? If so, why does the error message reappear?

2. I want to recreate the authentic PAL look (see the monitor photos in the guide link). How is this supposed to be achieved?

My last try was to ignore Prefs/Picasso96Mode (what`s the real use of it?) and add 320x256@50 VSYNCMIN=50 to the "Devs/Monitors/Radeon 9250" .info file. The result is that the resolution is ignored! I do have the same gfx card the guide uses as an example (ATi 9250) , so it should be able to recreate the resolution.

Picasso96Mode screen problem

The other day I was trying to recreate the authentic 1084 CRT look following the guide provided with the RunInUAE guide, section Tips&Tricks.
I read the link provided and followed the steps creating the appropriate mode, but on the final step clickin on "Test" button it failed with a message "Screen too large for this card".

After searching the fora, I found a post dated 2004 refering this problem as "..a bug in rtg.library (fixed meanwhile). The AmigaOne.card passes a boardname to rtg.library that is too long for the library causing a buffer overflow.".

Is this the case? Shouldn`t be fixed by now? Is something else the culprit?

My configuration:
S/W OS4.1FE
H/W Sam440Flex, ATi 9250, CRT Sony G200

OS4.1.6 works fine.

On 4.1FE, YouTube video starts silent. If I quit/restart mixer, the sound appears!

A strange issue that I`ve noticed the other day : I tried to send a mail with YAM but it failed to do so, popping up a "failed TLSv1/SSLv3 initiation process to node smtp.mail.yahoo.com" message.

I have a yahoo account (as mentioned above), YAM 2.9p1 (18/04/2014) and nothing changed to system or settings, since the last successful try on 20/6/2015.

Any ideas?

When I got my copy, I couldn`t start it, but even stranger was the fact that I had the same problem with the Demo which was running flawlessly before.
There might have been an OS update in between the demo and the full version bought ( Nov-Dec 13 to Spring 2014).

I finally soved this with this script :
