Re: My Sam440ep seems to be broken gfx/gfxram

I decided not to repair my SAM440EP, because that could render the motherboard completely death. I ordered today a ATI Radeon 9250 PCI and hope that it works.

What i did already:

- Changing UBoot-Prefs to PCI as Primary Output

What to do then when the PCI-Card arrives here?

- Comment out Radeon.chip in Kickstart-layout (Is it only for onboard M9 or what?)?
- Remobe Radeon-Monitor from DEVS:Monitor?
- Add PCI-Graphics to Devs:Monitors?

If thats not working i sadly have to bought a SAM460ex, maybe A-Cube can make a special offer, when sending my SAM440ep back?

My Sam440ep seems to be broken gfx/gfxram

Today after i turned on my sam440ep i got many pixels shown in the uboot-screen and everywhere. It seems after 4 Years my Videoram or my onboard Radeon M9 is broken

I try to fix that tomorrow in our company, testing PSU, all voltages, Videoram-Joints, M9-Joints. I hope i can fix it.

Resized Image

If i couldn't fix it i must use a pci-card.

Have anyone here a working setup and can recommend a pci-graphic-card for sam440ep?

@TFrieden & Rogue:

Thanks for your hard work on this, its very much appreciated!

You deserve every penny of the bounty and surely much more!

An interesting question is surely how you did the division of the work so far.

Who did what?

Are there situations you are working on the same Function, Class, Method..etc?

Or every of you have their own tasks on porting and developing particular parts of the code?

Did you have anything connected to this input?

No.
On The Sam440ep is it a pin-header on the Motherboard. Maybe a missing Grounding cause this, because there´s nothing connected to it (No Cable or Jack...)

I have now found out that the AUX-Input made this terrible high-pitch noise, if i mute this input-channel all right now!

I post this also on AW.net:

I figured out that whenever starting Mixer, it set up a high-pichting-noise on the left Audio-Channel. You can hear it when wearing Headphones and turn your Amplifiers Volume to 50% Volume.

Maybe it set some registers on the SAM440ep Soundchip?

Re: OWB (all Browsers) and Print

I dunno why.

Maybe it´s possible to save the whole page via wget to ram:T and then start a script or html interpreter who convert the data to pdf or other format to print several pages directly in one turn.

I dunno know if this helps, i solved this like that:

I´m using Screendump and Allkeys with Print-Scr-Key, so it print the whole visible screen of OWB.

The big contra is that if the website have more pages, they won´t be printed.

This bug still appears to be present in Update 3. Having just removed BetterCloseScreen from user-startup, I've had to reinstate it as Ringhio notifications are still causing closing screens to get "stuck".

That comes in my mind right after installation of Update3 and find then your answer. I will leave BetterCloseScreen then in WBStartup.
