On my ipad i did see the tabs aborve the data and here only the years 2016 till2010, si i expected to se them there too

But now i see tabs too below the data ,but only the year 2008 2009
I did notice however the rrows left and right which give acces tot years 2010 etc.
In all the experience i needed: Thanks a lot for help & gnumeric.

I downloaded gnumeric and launched it. It reads the file mentioned above, but i experience the same problem as with converters i used (converson to html)

Way down the excel page you have (withexcel) the possibility (links?) to load/see similar pages for different years.
On one converted html file the links appeared on top of the page but did not work, with an other one the links simply did not appear.
That is also the gnumeric behavior

I just did: that was the problem, preferences were pointing to Courier New, that was not available (yet) on my system.

The curious thing is it is rendered well in Ibrowse and Netsurf.
So what i am after is how to fix Odyssey, It does not seem to be obvious.

Since my new OS4FE install Odyssey does not respect fixed font betwwen

i used this rather much in webpages for simple tables.
The pages do present correctly on Netsurf and IBrowse but not (any more) on Odyssey.Wht might be the cause?

IN a previous "before crash" life, Odyssey was opened on its own screen and the window size and position was remembered after rebooting.
Opening Odyssey on its own screen created with the screens prefs window works. Remembering its window size is nonly working in successive sessions, but not after a reboot.


I seem to remeber that i had to use the MUI window settings , but i don't find out how.

not really an academic issue.
Only the highest level directory gets its date copied, not the subdirectories (having those respected is the essence of "clone all")
When making a backup it is annoying that all subdirectories are set to the searching for a given directory by date is no longer possible. It is also nice to be remembered of the "real" directories dates?

I also occasianlly use "redate" to set directories to date of latest contained files. Having to do that again on backed-up directories is avoided by a real copy clone all

btw having a possibility in prefs to chose the present directory dating sheme or the "redate" scheme would be nice

The copy command may need the "destination directory path"


The filer "help" does not give an abbreviation for this path

is close to what i want : save a directory elsewhere with the same directrory name and date
eg from shell
copy clone all work:Hoorbril ram:t/Hoorbril
except:
- the date of the Hoorbril directory is not respected
- the name of the new directory becomes "Hoorbril", not Hoorbril

remark : copy {f} {d}{o} clone all gives an error message

With the os4 .1 install CD-ROM present and using boota command from u-boot cli the boot completed and i was able to check partitions
I am going to,try the same with update2 CD-ROM

In fact your hint about "Kickstart/onchip memresource.kmod is for sam460"

was very usefull. I remembered havng tried, two weeks ago,to use theHD on my SAM460ex (without success) and having installed OS4.1FE there.
After having cleaned up the sys partition, with the DVD OS4.1FE booting this time, i could succesfully install the sam440ep OS4.1FE

What can I do?

I first tried to boot wth OS4.1 FE :no success
There is a CD-ROM r/w but no DVD r/w on the machine
U-boot presents only onboard SATA cd rom or USB CD-ROM as boot options, , no DVD
That's probably why I never installed OS4.1FE coming on a DVD

I have the OS4.1 and the OS4.1 ipdate2 CD-ROM s
I tried both but they did not boot

I guess buying a DVD r/w will not make suddenly appear a DVD boot option in u-boot version 1.3.1

Is there a method to update u-boot directly?
Or should I concentrate on debuggingthe present setup?

I tried to create a custom button

Copy clone all FROM {F} TO {d)

exêcted to copy clone the items selected in the source directory to the destination directory


i get the error message "Copy: Wildcard destination invalid."

Sombody did this the right way?

At the moment i have no way of making a script run on tha "dead" sam440ep. I can only rely on debugging info that u-boot might provide allready when trying to boot the machine.

I don't think i can test the nullmodem from the working Sam460ex only ?

My conclusion is that the nullmodem will not help me right now:

On powering on, & booting nothing appears on the screen , the HD led only flickers just once , then nothing. So i don't have the opportunity to put u-boot in serial output mode.
Is this right or do i miss something?

My PSU tester has just arrived and my hope is that problems are due to the power unit and not the motherboard. We'll see tomorrow

Thank you for the most interesting link. This was exactly what i am after now: detect if it is the PSU or the mobo of the sam440ep that is affected.

I did build a null modem with no handshaking. from a serial cable with 2 connectors that could be opened and rewired, With my hands not as stable, as i would like any more, opening soldering and closing the connectors again took me nearly 3/4 hour.


I hope non handshaking null modem will work? else i'll have to restart the procedure :(


My SAM 460ex works again , but here too the learning curve was steep and scary as i did buy both SAM's ready boxed and OS installed. Scary also because the new 500 GB HD that i bought consumed too much power and produced read & write errors all over the place. I bought a SATA to USB docking station now with its own power supply and will use it as an external backup device.
I am working now with an old 40 GB HD (and or a 80 GB one) that i got from my neighbour.

Today i'll try to copy the sys partition to the 500 GB HD, next i'll copy my incomplete :(( backup to this drive, and i'll start feeling somewhat safe again.
