@Daniel

I would really like to this http://os4depot.net/index.php?functio ... workbench/prefscenter.lha
incorporated into the OS - something like the WBStartup-Manager for Preferences. The shortcomings of the recent version is the dependance on icon datatype (which leads to conflict with other software...) and the fact, that there's nothing to customize: Most of us have additional preferences programs in the prefs drawer - these should be addable, maybe with user definable sections.

@Radov

Oh dear - as I mentioned in this thread http://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/ ... t_id=50988#forumpost50988 my SAM440ep got really sick and was sent back to ACube - and guess what kind of errors I saw in UBoot and on Workbench/Rhingio?

And, btw, the problems started shortly after installing Update 1 AND the backplate - but I can't really see, how this should trigger such errors...

But all of this maybe really by a total coincidence - as it has been said already: Knock on wood! I still would say: Cool your SAMs - it can't be a bad idea, even if it might not be necessary.

EDIT: typo

@salass00

So our sam's might meet while their holiday trip to Italy - I'm still waiting for a nice postcard from that little bugger...

My sam440ep-mini broke even more seriously - in the meantime I have the suspicion, that the Mini-sam should not be operated without cooling. I have a standard mini-ITX case with the usual ventilation holes and we all (including my system builder/seller) thought that it is no problem to operate it without any active cooling, but now I'm not sure anymore.
Maybe some of the production runs of the boards (or some components) are a little more "on the edge" when it comes to temperature.
Sadly enough I had no "warnings" about this before (like Chris here "http://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/ ... ype=&mode=0&start=0").

This is of course no real analysis - only a suspicion, maybe Acube will find the real fault on my board...

Yep, I thought that, too.

Come on, people, there must be one last icon wish (or two, if ADRipper might be obsolete...).

Yiiippeeee!

Ok, how about my single wish: A new version of all your 2007 and 2008 icons in the new 2010/Update 1 64x64 style? Ok, just kidding...

So here's what I would like to see:

ClassAction (the tabbed file manager).

(And thank you very much for all your great artwork you've done for us!)

I'm not in front of my 68k-OS3.9-Amigas, but wasn't there an ENV:-variable where you can set those settings permanently?

Re: Anybody install TVPaint on your AmigaOS 4.1 system?

@mbrantley

I installed TVPaint on OS4.1. It was not that straightforward, 'cos I had to disable JIT for TVPaint in the Compability prefs - the piece of software, that asks for your serial number didn't work *here* JIT-emulated. After registration I could enable JIT again and since then TVPaint works happily on my sam440ep under OS4.1.
BTW: What about copying your running installation from your other machine to your sam? Might be easier...

@kas1e

PNG icons are NOT the default on OS4.1! OS4-Icons are default on OS4.1. 97% of my system has proper OS4-Icons (some old OS3.5 remained) and same very rare apps have/had PNG-Icons (Cubic, SimpleCat).

Oops - there must be some mis-connection between eyes and brain here, I really read "copy" - of course Chris wrote "LINK". Yes, that's the way I do it myself since OS3.9 - for whatever reason, it never worked predictivly on my machines <OS3.9...

Re: Some OS4.1 bugs

@Raziel
Yes, but why copy an icon FROM ENVARC: to ram disk? If you want to snapshot your ram disk icon - snapshot it and a disk.info will appear in the ram disk root directory. Copy this to ENVARC: as "def_ramdisk.info" and on next reboot this (with your personal snapshot information) will appear at the snapshotted position. There's AFAIK no need to copy it to the ram:'s root directory on every boot. It might/should work this way since OS3.9.
