And kas1e I see once and again you say your not a programmer,
maybe not before you try and fail, you should understand C
or the logic of code by now, NO coder is perfect, Trial and Error builds confidense in anything.
Like surfing, there is no perfect surfer where all learning! If you meet a surfer who's fully learned he's/she's lying.

I think you are super vitamin injection for the Amiga scene !

@kas1e
Spoofing as iphone 13 works great with youtube. ;)

A "little thing" you should add that I find annoying is in the "Download Fonts" script in the Odyssey folder, everytime I make an fresh install and "install" Odyssey I run the Download Fonts script, and it always fail
until I add --no-check-certificate.

The fix as you know is to add

"--no-check-certificate"

on line 23 in the script after -

"echo >t:fetchfont{$$} ".KEY F*NDatas/wget --tries 10 --waitretry 10"

So an reminder or a choosable option in the script would be great!

Re: Problems with AmigaInputAnywhere

@LiveForIt

AmigaInput or AmigaInputAnywhere related i dont know!

But here goes anyway!
Last week I tried my Retroflag SNES joypad with no succes at all with my X5000 until I RTFM! I press Y while connecting the USB and it works nicely.

I have an old Logitech Rumblepad2 which have worked now and then through the years with AmigaInput but always at some point crashed/destroyed EnvArc:Sys/AmigaInput..

But since I've switched to the SNES joypad no more crashes/corrupted prefs!

Which leave me to believe that USB stack is the guilty one,
what is the max ampere drain allowed by AOS4.1 USB stack and/or AmigaInput?

I know the X5000 has much weaker ampere on USB ports than my A1XE had but worth checking!

Tried to write a couple of long P.M. answers for detailed description of things and when I press "Submit"......

You don't have permit.......

Yeah COPY AND PASTE BEFORE SUBMIT WORKS.
But why in 2020?

Fix a longer logout time limit so we can have a chance to reply to P.M's that deserves a long answer, NOW!

Edit: On X5000 with Odyssey.

"Nowadays most people use a PC for daily work while the Amiga remains an active hobby."

Not true for me, my X5000 is my daily computer and ONLY if I need I VNC into my Mac and thats for printing and... thats about it.

But yeah I got an A500/ACA500+ to my left and an Utimate64 to my right,
it's a 3 monitor setup, so we can call it a daily hobby!

EDIT: And oh yeah, sorry for getting half/totally off topic! ;)

EDIT2: And Hans I will buy ZitaFTP Server, amazing job you've done!
Remembering my MP3 server I had on my microA1, my friends where amazed by how they could access all my music on their computer.

"When it comes to amigaos4 components released with amigaos4, then better take as a rule that nothing will be fixed, but if anything will be fixed, it will be never released. By this, you will not have any kind of disappointment. Take it like "what you have now, you will have like it forever"

Where do I sign up for betatesting/updating the OS? ;)

@LiveForIt
"Do Hyperion have the source code to that part of the OS, maybe that’s also owned by some unpaid contractor."

Good question and maybe part of the answer, we maybe have to find the person and pay up.

@BSzili
"This is pretty much how I look at OS4 as well. FEu1 is the last version of the OS, and any development that will happen in the future is going to be third party.
On the bright side there won't be any more breaking changes (e.g. integrating P96 into graphics.library), and people can even make binary patches/replacements for components, like they did with OS3."

Sad but probably true, the OS is already scattered with 3:rd party devs
and thats pretty normal OS dev wise, not just on Amiga OS.

Maybe we need an official page for hunting down developers
who did contribute to Amiga OS4 in the past and didn't get paid and lost interest in the OS.
And pay them once and for all for what they contributed.

But let's wait and see what the Judge says first and we take it from there.

@sinisrus
What do you mean by interface problems?
Graphic glitches?

I have run the OS4Depot/Inutilis version for years without problem on XE/X5000

EDIT: Looking at your second picture I kinda understand what you mean but that is an empty window,

I think the "dragbar" shows up once you have something to drag - a new midi-track.

But there sure can be bugs since Timo ported it from 68k to PPC.

Can we talk about Prefs/Amiga Input?

What is causing the damage of Amiga Input EnvArc:Sys/AmigaInput/ files every now and then? This has been a problem since 2004!

The files don't even survive with write protection!?

The solution is to delete the files in above dir and re-configure your joystick/joypad.

Easy yeah, but why is it still like this give or take 16 years later?

The Vague 2 works without problem, and yeah I got all Warp3D SI updates to the latest. The first thing I do every boot is check Amiupdate & Updater.

Installed your minigl/mglut and now everything works!
Success! :)

Thank you again kas1e!

EDIT:But then again, why didn't it work in the first place with the X5000 iso minigl/mglut?
Is there a newer version of the X5000 iso floating around? ;)

@kas1e
I'm using R9 280X but will delete all minigl and mglut, reboot and reinstall minigl and mglut. Maybe it's the minigl4es4.. delete/replace bug that Daytona talked about.

Edit: Same problem with delete of all minigl/mglut, hard reboot, install of minigl/mglut from X5000 ISO, hard reboot, then start UFO:AI same crash.

Edit2: Every other game you ported work flawless.

Edit3: Nothing on serial, is there a debug command?
