@fryguy

Well, that situation has changed now that Hyperion Entertainment own the rights for everything related to AmigaOS, AmigaOne and Boing Ball..

The only Amiga thing Amiga Inc own now is the entire Amiga brand. That's all it has left...

Shorter name for AmigaOne X1000?

In AW, there has been some discussion if the brand name of the new AmigaOne X1000 is too long and should be renamed...

What do you think? Is the name AmigaOne X1000 the right name? X1000 is, but what about AmigaOne?

Should it probably be called AmigaTwo X1000? The second generation AmigaOne?

Or should it simply just be called Amiga X1000? But then again it would interrupt with what Amiga Inc now owns. They only own the "Amiga" brand, while Hyperion Entertainment own everything related to AmigaOS,
AmigaOne and Boing Ball..

But then again, AmigaOne X1000 is probably the rightest name anyway, but it can be shorted A1X1000

What do you think?

Hehe, i know what trolls. The great couple of them from AW, yeah. I have noticed

Well, the alliance was formed yesterday, so i bet around a week or two A-EON should be ready with the site and enough information. Definitely worth feasting the eyes on!

The funny thing is that when this was debated in AmigaWorld, there were are great couple being sceptical and even claimed that AmigaOne X1000 is vaporware..

But the persons representing the alliance between Hyperion Entertainment and A-EON Technology, managed to prove them wrong...

Funny situation, isn't it?

Re: OpenOffice to AmigaOS 4 - When?

@All

It's a huge task to port the whole OpenOffice bundle to the Amiga, as OpenOffice doesn't consist of ONE program, but several programs for drawing, writing, impression, calculation/math and something similar to Excel..

So it would mean that many more than just one person have to help porting such a great bundle..

It's true that JAVA is not really needed, but it might help in some situations...

@Joeled

Well, not necessarily having to wait for the Java, but mostly preferrable, i guess, so it might take a while, i think..

For one person fulltime it might take quite a while, but if there are several persons behind it, it will speed up development, yeah..
