OK, using prefs/UBoot in the Boot sources selection I made sure the First (and only) bootsource is Onboard IDE Disk. This got rid of the second scan, but so there is no way I can set the Second, Third or Fourth bootsource without getting the second IDE scan?

No, I can't use an external hub; I've tried. I need a VIA-based USB card to be able to get any sort of USB at all.

I would like to be able to put my SiL card back in the A1, but I already have Catweasel, SCSI, and VIA USB cards populating all the slots. Which brings up another question--if I were to get the fix done and could remove the USB card, would there still be any advantage to using a SiL IDE card?

Since replacing my DVD drive my boot times have decreased substantially. Especially soft reboots as it doesn't hang looking for a there/not there drive. However during the UBoot phase it still scans the IDE chain a couple of times and IIRC isn't there a way to disable the second scan?

I tried sdlLopan under ud4 but it seemed to chew up a lot of CPU cycles and slow alot of other things down. Has this improved under OS4 final?

Anyone else notice this ? Same here. Although my RC5 stats have improved just slightly, OGR has really taken a dive.

One of the games I miss playing directly in OS4 is Shanghai. Has anyone been able to tweak some setting to get it to start by just clicking on it or will E-UAE continue to be the only way to play it under OS4?

It was 2.17 that was giving me problems until I switched to autodetect. Now it works just fine. However none of this answers my original question: Is mpega.library the best one to use under OS4 Final? Is there no hope OS4 friendly version of a WarpUp library? I'd really like to have the Equalizer available even if I don't use it all that much.

@Curty I do use TuneNet; in fact, that's what I'm using now. But before the current, most stable version I was stuck using AmigaAMP a lot and I still have a fondness for it as well as a lot of playlists.

Sorry for insinuating that this is a problem with IBrowse, as it looks like how the menus function have been changed with OS4 Final. Previously with context menus you'd move the mouse over the menu item you want, it highlights, and when you lift your finger off the menu button it was selected. Now you have to select-click on the menu item again to select it. Is there a way to change this behavior in Prefs? If not, please bring back the old method.

I thought I'd solved my problem by adding 'Run >NIL:' in front of the 'Execute S:User-Startup' and it worked the first reboot after that, but during that reboot I noticed another small window popping up which said 'Rexxmast failed.' Looking through the User-Startup again I found that the setup for ImageFX tries to run Rexxmast a second time. I commented that out of the User-Startup, but on the next reboot, I'm back to the same original problem.

Aahh, the old 'divide and conquer' strategy. Yes, it is, of course, in the user-startup. At 308 lines it's going to take some time to narrow the cause down.

Anybody else having problems with the screenblanker causing lockups? For instance I was just in prefs/screenblanker and as soon as I tried to test the Zoom blanker fullscreen it froze the system up entirely. Usually though it happens when I step away from the computer for a time and then the blanker kicks in, and when I come back neither moving the mouse or hitting a key removes the blanker. I have to do a hard reset.
