Ah at last, this is now working for me thanks Chris

I did what you suggested and it behaves the same. After powering off machine, swith on and boot with no sound, perform a 3 finger salute (reboot) and boots again with sound as before!

AHIprefs has a bug. I already seen something odd with it (but can't remember now).
This is my ahi.prefs file: http://pferrucci.perso.sfr.fr/doc/ahi.prefs
Copy it in envarc:sys I don't know if it will help....

When I click on that link get a strange set of charecters, is that supposed to be the file?

Sound on SAM460 AHI prefs
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Hi All

Just wondered if anyone else is experiencing same as me here.

I have a SAM460 and have installed the just released sound driver. It all works okay but every day when I first swith my machine on I have no sound, I load AHI Prefs and it is all set correct so click on 'Save' and reboot and sound is now working. This happens every time without fail.

When does AHI prefs load?

Is AHI prefs not saving for some reason, I assume it is because when I load AHI prefs everything is as it should be!

It isn't a major problem as such but if I want sound I have to go to AHI prefs, click on 'Save' and reboot every time, just really annoying!

Yes I did this and it makes no difference, still get the same message

That is correct, that is where I found it, thanks.

I have downloaded that file, but cannot find 'curl-ca-bundle anywhere in Devs:, I checked in Devs: top level, Internet and Networks. Also looked in SSL drawer but nowhere to be found!

OWB Security Certificates

Not too shy to talk

I have just tried to log into my bank account (Barclays) and got the following error message

Quote:
Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates

I was able to log into it a few weeks ago so assume they have updated their security checks within the website. Nothing has changed with OWB so must assume this to be the case.

Is there any newer security certificates available for OWB?

@OldAmigan

Hi, it might be worth trying to set a lower resolution during install (say 640 x 480) and see if it boot into that screen, then go to prefs and try the resolution you want to run, would try the 'test' function just to make sure all is well!

When you boot from the CD what resolution is that? Might be worth trying that resolution as you know it works okay.

Hmm, I see what you mean, try "copy image" and look for the JPG in Ram:Clipboards,
from there Multiview displayed it, also I was able to load it into ImageFX and PerfectPaint.
Although it's only black and white did the "text" option create a pdf ?

Wow, I did that and it works fine, have scanned using OWB, did the 'copy image' and yes it was in RAM:Clipboards like you said.

So I'm such a happy bunny now, have wireless printing and now scanning all on my beloved Amiga...... who needs Windows or Mac OSX

Tried it and it works as such, can do the scan but when try to save image it doesn't save it properly, get error message (when I try to view it) "not enough data"

Also tried option of displaying it in a new TAB but nothing displayes.

Hi, if it's like my HP all in one, then try entering your printers IP address into OWB which should bring up it's webserver, hopefully, listed under Applications you should see "scan" if so, that should give you some options to play with. On mine selecting "Text" creates a PDF stored wherever you've set OWB to save downloads to. Regards Draby

Oh great, when I get home from work I will give that a try, thanks for the tip

Simplemail question

Not too shy to talk

Hi All

Humour me again as a returning Amigan, I have forgot so much!

I am using currently OWB as my browser and Simplemail as my mail client, was wondering how do I configure them so that if I click on a web address link within a mail it opens it in OWB?

I can't see any options of this sort within Simplemail preferences and OWB has no preferences as such just options set within the icon, any ideas?

Not tried that, what software would I need, have a copy of FXScan knocking about somewhere but not sure it would support it!

@All

I got my HP Photosmart printer today and now have it working via network using netprinter.device and HP_Photosmart printer driver.

Ironically it was easier to set up and get running on the Amiga than my Mac!

Happy days

Problem is, though, that it insists on writing to the original floppy for personalization purposes during installation, so you can only install it on a machine with an Amiga floppy drive. Once you have installed it, you can copy the whole installation to an NG machine and have it working there.

Damn, don't have a machine I can install it on with a floppy!

Apparently I am told I can use printer I am getting with standard drivers HOPhotosmart

Hi all, just wondering if Turboprint is still available (been away from Amiga scene for several years) to purchase or buy off someone to install on my SAM460, assuming it runs okay on OS4.1 update 2?

I have a HP PSC 1317 printer at home which I cannot get working with my Amiga.

If I can't get it working with OS4 was considering getting another printer, heard the HP Photosmart all in one printer (available from Currys fo £50) works on OS4.1, can anyone confirm this?

Sorry for all these silly questions but it's all new to me as a returning Amigan
