As a personal preference, I prefer ReAction, but I don't mind MUI either.

@RacerX

Cranu is a front end for commandline archivers. Apparently the tar.gz and tar.bz2 support needs the commandline tools from the SDK rather than other versions. He had the wrong ones in his default path, now he doesn't.

Re: 68k application in OS4Depot? No!

I brought up the subject of 68k programs on os4depot elsewhere, but only because I don't want to see os4depot become a repositry for 68k software; otherwise why even bother having anything other than aminet in the first place?

Orgin has explained why ignition is on os4depot, and while i don't necessarily agree, i'm not that bothered by it and respect his decision.

My concern about 68k apps on os4depot doesn't mean I want to "slam" the developers of amiga software at all. I'm really glad Ignition is being developed at all.

But games don't have to make sense. I wouldn't be any more inclined to buy one than the other. Actually, thinking about it, i'd be marginally more inclined to buy Space Giraffe than the boat game because from the screenshots it looks like its probably quite a frenetic action game, whereas the boat game looks like its probably slow and boring.

Actually, neither of those games look even vaguely interesting to me.

@Rob

If that was actually true, you wouldn't need the gfx card buffer to use DMA cards, but on the Mediator 4000, you DO have to use gfx card buffers....

@Spirantho

I'm pretty sure that it will be possible to get a TV card working under OS4/Mediator. There is no DMA to main memory, but nothing stops DMA between cards, AFAIK.

Once the new SDK is out, there will be nothing stopping anyone interested from having a go at writing a SCSI driver, or any other driver for that matter.

@Catalist

Use an 8029 instead of 8139 card if you don't want to use PCMCIA. Its not like the 8139 ever went much faster than 10Mb/s in a Mediator 1200 anyway.

Nobody said that its impossible to get TV cards working under Mediator/OS4 either, its just that there are currently no native drivers for that. It might or might not work, at this point we don't know.

At least you actually can use network (8029), sound (terratec) and graphics (voodoo) in the mediator. Would you rather there was no support at all?

Besides, if you want, you can use the elbox 68k drivers. Just remove all OS4 native drivers for mediator cards and install them like on OS3.9, they even use the native Picasso96.

Theres no need to be so hostile about it, its not like hyperion owe you anything.

Could the recent list be made multi page?

Hi,

I sometimes browse OS4Depots recent list on my laptop at work and think "oh cool, i'll download that" and then completely forget. Then it drops off the recent list and I can't remember what I'd made a mental note of what it was I was going to download.

Would it be possible to have a "Next Page" link at the bottom of the recent list that continues the list. It should be a simple change to the sql query to support a start offset, and that way i could browse all the way back to the beginning of os4depot, which could be fun

1.2 is out:

I fixed the scale issue, but tbh, unless you were zooming something up massively like you did above, it wouldn't have made any real difference; for general scaling it was fine.

I also optimised it quite a lot, too.

Other main changes:

* You can change the screenmode
* All settings are saved in the program icon tooltypes

Hmm. Really? Proper Cropper uses bicubic interpolation, which is the same technique that photoshop uses. Out of interest, do you know what method hollywould uses?

Anyway, good job on cropper, btw, I'm impressed at what you can create with hollywood.

OK. I've started work on it. Shouldn't be too hard.

I've adapted a bicubic interpolation routine that doom/iris gave me, and made a program that loads any image in, and shows it as large as possible on the same screenmode as wb (keeping image aspect ratio).

I just have to make it possible to select an area (keeping aspect of course), and it'll then scale that area up to full screen and save it, and i'll be done.

I'll try to get on that tomorrow evening.
