@Kotler

Well I read that Cairo deals with 2D vectors, so APDF seemed like a good target. It could be useful to ofload some of the work onto the GPU especially if OS4.1 get ported to Sam440 or other low spec systems.

Could Cairo support be used to speed up Apdf and would the result be worth the effort.

Apart from the lack of OS4.1 did the Club meeting go well?

Any chance I could pop by on Friday the 12th and pick up a copy. There's a few other things I plan to buy such as the Indivision and IDE Express at the same time.

@GrumpyOldMan

9250 and 9200 are essentially the same but the 9200 has a 10Mhz higher clocked core.
The thing you should be concerned about is if your 9250 has a 64 or 128 bit memory controller.

edit.

Does PC scan show the card as an RV280 or RV280LX? The core code for the 9250 has the LX suffix according to info I got.

@Swoop

It will work up to point where AmigaOS takes over, i.e. you can only see Uboot on the TV.

DVI support should be 4.1 though and that can be fed into HDMI capable hardware.

Hollywood isn't a video editor but you can embed animations and audio into presentations.

I presume that you want to do video tutorials for AmigaONE software/hardware.

I emailed Jamie Krueger about two years ago regarding the same thing after watching the Amiwest webcast. He said that ideally you need a way the save the contents of the frame buffer to disc to produce video.
I don't think he had any time to investigate how to impliment it though.

Another option is VGA capture card so you record the output of the AmigaOne straight into a PC. When I looked these things weren't cheap, but if you user group plan to make a lot of vids then people might pay into a bounty.

Also with WinUAE you can produce AVI files of what you emulate.

No, it's not Freespace 2, although that is something I am thinking about too.

I think you mentioned it before so that's why I thought it was Freespace 2.

NOS = new old stock. There are second hand copies of Freespace available but they can be quite pricey, it would be nice if people could source new discs at a reasonable price. Of course as it's not ported then it's not of great importance right now.

Next question then;

Is this a commercial port or something you've sone in you're own time.

@Atheist

If you want a Natami with a 68060 on board then you will have to order one the developer boards if they are producing them for more that just developers.

The cost will be similar to what the A1 motherboard cost so you're probably looking at around $1000 if you want one and you'll jhave to make sure your board is in the first run as the won't be any subsequent productions.

I'd recommend signing up to the Natami forums.

@Samurai_Crow

The Coldfire V5 doesn't have an FPGA built into it.

The V5 is built to the customers requirements, if you want ethernet and USB controllers, or your own logic on the same chip then you ask for it.
The logic will be fixed but it will also be a lot cheaper than starting out with a $100 FPGA.
