I jumped on the USB2 train by purchasing a second hand NEC 4+1 PCI USB card and inserted it either in slot 1-2-3, disabling/enabling front/rear onboard USB of my fixed A1XEG4 and it does not work properly ! The only thing I get is the notification errors ! ranger is giving the following information : ID Bus: 0x00 Device: 0x09 Function: 0x00 Class USB UHCI Device 0x0035 rev 0x43 (n/a) Vendor 0x1033 (n/a) so so far USB2 is a nogo for me

I can confirm about the differences between PCI slots in an A1XE when trying to use a PCI USB card. My D-Link DU-520 USB2 PCI card doesn't work if inserted in the second PCI 33MHz slot, while it works flawlessly in the third PCI slot (the one which is nearest the motherboard's edge). My setup is as follows (it is similar to K-L's one):
*One Radeon 9200 on the AGP Port *Nothing on the 66Mhz PCI port *One SATA 3114 card on the 1st PCI 33 Mhz port *Nothing on the 2nd PCI 33 Mhz port *One NEC USB 2 card on the 3rd PCI 33 Mhz port
This is on an A1XE 1GHz with internal USB and DMA fixes.
Incidentally, the same card refused to work in a Pentium 4 system as well, inserted in a PCI slot in the middle, I haven't tried to insert it in the last PCI slot.
This is my card: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=DU-520

I had a similar "feature" with my PCI SCSI lsi53c8xx card which refused to work in the 1st pci 33 mhz slot but was working flawlessly on the 3rd (the last one), and that is on A1G4 with DMA and USB fixes ! but the card was not working anymore after I upgraded to AOS4.1 (or one the following update)

Hi all, The title said it all : whats the max number of entries that UBoot/SLB can cope with ? I have the impression it is 9 because I have several AOS4 and linux installation which makes more than 10 entries but only 9 appear and I would like to have confirmation ! thx Lio

FreeSynd is another one http://freesynd.sourceforge.net/Spot made the initial 0.2 port (alpha it seems) for AOS4 and the project evolved to version 0.5

@ MickJT: thx for your efforts.
I was wondering whether our good old joysticks would be supported through the 4-players parallele adaptater on amigaone and also it seems to be recognized when starting E-UAE, it fails at detecting button press and direction. I can wildly guess it is amigainput fault not recognising the adaptater and the joystick connected and indeed nothing shows up in amigainput prefs (all pci_bla says not found).
here is the output : E-UAE 0.8.29 Build date: Mar 7 2010 20:38:46 Found joystick #0 (AI ID=24320) 'PCI_sblive_hornet' with 2 axes, 8 buttons Found 1 joysticks Opening cfgfile '.uaerc'...okay. unknown config entry: 'sound_max_buff=8192' EClock frequency:33.333333 MHz Rexx port "UAE" installed. thanks both for help.
I somehow managed to fix this but I am not sure how !!!
Initially when scummvm was complaining about wrong libpng, I copied libpng15.so.15 and made a sym link with libpng.so but it was still complaining so I rename libpng15.so.15 in libpng14.so.14 and made again a sym link and thats what brought this "not enough free RAM" error when netsurf !
Then I deleted libpng14.so.14 and all libpng were deleted so I copied over from a backup and it is working again !!
now I have : libpng.so > SYS:sobjs/libpng12.so libpng12.so > libpng15.so.15 libpng14.so.14 libpng15.so.15
And both scummvm and netsurf are working !
if I delete libpng15.so.15, libpng.so and libpng12.so are gone as well and scummvm is working but netsurf is complaining about missing libpng.so
if I delete libpng14.so.14, libpng.so and libpng12.so stay and scummvm is complaining about missing libpng14.so.14 but netsurf is working
crazy isnt it ?
BTW is there a way to know all sym link in the system ? I thought Ranger would help or makelink but nope...

libpng : NetSurf 2.7 and ScummVM 1.3.0

latest ScummVM (1.3.0) requires at least libpng.so.14 but I only found version 15 and now Netsurf 2.7 is complaining about memory (Netsurf needs more memory. free some memory and try again) but I have 512Mb RAM !! the exact output is "libpng warning: Application built with libpng-1.2.44 but running with 1.5.2"
how can I fixed that since ScummVM porter (Raziel AFAIK) does not want to make static compile of ScummVM ?
thanks in advance for help

ok I add another thing which still makes me use DOPUS more than Filer : handling of archived files.
the way DOPUS handles them is marvelous and I have not seen this feature on any other file manager. you can browse an archive, see picture and text without actually having to extract to RAM: and thats the most usefull feature for me...
if Filer would integrate this arcdir blabla, that would be wonderfull !!

there are a few things which could be improved :
* the help text does not appear for user buttons * in root view, when selecting an assign and go parent goes back to root view * when browsing dirs, going back leads the lister to view the dirs alphabetically and not aroung the dir you just went in (not so convenient when you are looking in XYZ and go back or parent, you are back at ABC !)
there are probably other minor things BUT filer is a usefull tool, so thank you Orgin !

@ChrisH
Thanks !
although I did not bother to install Payback, nor Heretic2 or Napalm (although I owns the originals), I appreciate the effort, but I would really like to get Heretic2 running on my AmigaOne, because it was not so fast on my BPPC !

looks very nice, thank you !
one question : could it be used in conjunction with diskimage ? for instance a compressed adf.7z or adf.zip be used by xadfs for transparent decompression and diskimage to mount...
