Maybe you should remove his initial until he does.

@TheDaddy

You could try the Fun School games, there's a few listed on Ebay at the moment.

When you boot with no startup-sequence open a new shell and then execute s/startup-sequence, when workbench opens the new shell will stay open, stopping workbench from changing the screen mode without user intervention.

@lilwindsor

If you have an external floppy drive you can install 3.1, the disk named install has HD Toolbox on it which will allow you format and partition the hard disk.

You then need to format the disks in workbench and then you can run the installer script on the install disk.

You can purchase a new set of 3.1 disks from AmigaKit here, they also sell the Workbench manual too.

External floppy drives can usually be found on Ebay etc.

You can also install OS 3.5 or 3.9 too, these come on CD although I'm not sure if they autoboot or not, but I know the CU Amiga magazine CD's will boot into Workbench if you don't have a floppy drive for an initial isntall of 3.1.

@Troels

Only the earlier boards have the LVDS connector. I had a little chat about this with Rigo during MagBash. Rigo's board also has soldered on Ram making it lower profile than the newer ones. I've been meaning to get in contact and ask what he found out from Max at Acube.

I think it could be done with a nice professional looking case like the daddy did with Minimig, but you'd probably be looking at around ?1000 if all the parts were new, it would be quite an undertaking and a fair ammount of money would be needed to get the project off the ground.

PPC680x0 by Coyote Flux could be usefull for converting existing 68k source code to PPC source and as a learning aid.

Not being a coder I couldn't say how usefull it is under OS4, but I can at least confirm that it works.

download.

I have the same problem here with ArtEffect4. I hope that Alinea are able to release native versions in the not too distant future.

Email Stephen and he should be able to send you the current version.

It's good and the more people that register the better it will get.

Seems I forgot that 5 was the latest version. So Deron won't be much help for getting V4 working on 4.1.

Wipeout works here and doesn't seem to crash on exit anymore. However there are now black rectangles under the ships instead of shadows and the energy and thrust meters are black, which has a serious affect on the playabilty of the game.

It turns out that the 1920x1200 mode I had to define in P96 wouldn't work on my monitor under DVI.
It's all sorted out now.
