Huno's library relies on AInput so if AInput does not see both joypads connected then I will not work...

BTW I have the same problem on my fixed A1G4...

update : I bought the following :

http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360442816617

New SATA USB 2.0 IDE Combo PCI IO Serial ATA Card

100% brand new and high quality
Serial ATA Host Controller chip with 32-bit interfacing
Compliant with SATA 1.0 Specification
Support two independent Serial ATA ports with data transfer rate up to 1.5Gb/s
Built-in 256 byer FIFO per port for fast read/writer operations
Supports Microsoft generic IDE operation and Intel bus master DMA operations
Supports RAID function 0 and 1
Adjustable stripe size for RAID 0
Supports co-exist RAID set and Non-RAID HDD
Allow HDDs with different sizes to be configurated in a RAID set
4 external USB 2.0 ports, each support high speed data transfer up to 480 Mbps
One SATA connector length: 50cm( approx)
Dimension: 12cm(L)X11.5cm(W)

but it does not work : it makes the boot longer and interfers with my motherboard (freeze).

pciscan gave :

13 0x1106 0x3038 VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller
14 0x1106 0x3038 VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller
15 0x1106 0x3104 VIA Technologies, Inc. USB 2.0

you dont need to copy the needed so in sobjs:

you just copy it in the folder of the application and the application will take this one in priority as the one in sobjs: (at least thats what I was told).

I did not expect an update that fast so it is very welcome and a nice surprise !

here are some bench regarding launching speed :

AOS4.1upd4
version first beta 4.0.1
launch from SFS0 34 sec

AOS4.1upd4
version second beta 4.0.1
launch from SFS0 16 sec

so the launching time is divided by 2 !

thanks for this update.

EDIT: on A1XEG4

Hi Edgar,
ok understood.
it would be nice to have those keys working but it is definitely more important to improve the general speed of the program.
Thanks

up/down keys under AmiCygnix ?

Hi all,
I have a rather annoying problem under amicygnix : when using Gnumeric or Abiworld, I can only scroll with the mouse, which is very slow and the up/down keys (not the four arrows keys) dont work.

Is there a way to active these globally ?
thx
Lio

Hi All,
as I need to free some slots in my A1XEG4, I would like to replace my sii3512, sii0680 and USB2.0 cards with a kind of all-in-one pci card.

Anyone tried this successfully and got a link where I could get it ?
Thx
Lio

no, not the graphic memory/RAM in Mbytes or Mo but the Memory Bus Width.

A Radeon 9000 Pro is 128-bits (8.8GB/s) whereas the Radeon 9250 is coming in 64-bits (slower data transfer) or 128-bits version (faster but less than a 9000 Pro).
transfer speed for the 9250 is between 2.7 and 6.4 GB/s depending whether you have the 64 or the 128-bits.

Usually it is written on the box that comes with the card. On mine, it says Sapphire PCI Radeon 9250, 128MB DDr memory 64-bits.

if you managed to find 128-bit 9250 than you are in business but this card is just a cut down version (low end) therefore most of the one you can find new are 64-bit (like the one I bought !)

AmiCygnix on different partitions
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

Hi All,
Because most AOS4.x updates seem to prefer a clean install instead of an update, I decided to create a "work" partition where I would put all my applications like AmigaAMP, DVplayer, CinnamonWriter... and AmiCygnix.

This one was installed when AOS4.1upd2 was the latest update and now with the new update3, I created a new SYS partition, and copied over the ENVARC variables regarding AmiCygnix but although it still works under AOS4.1upd2, it is a mess under under AOS4.1u3, even generating DSI (Crash log for task "Cygnix:CygnixPPC/X11R6.3/bin/Esetroot").

Therefore I was wondering : do I have to reinstall AmiCygnix from AOS4.1upd3 ?

I search the support forum and there is a similar question but strangely enough I can not access the thread.

Re: USB PCI cards

ok I exchanged my NEC PCI 4+1 for a ALi PCI 4+1 with the following ID :

## Vendor Device Vendor name Description
13 0x10B9 0x5237 ALi Corporation USB 1.1 Controller
14 0x10B9 0x5237 ALi Corporation USB 1.1 Controller
15 0x10B9 0x5237 ALi Corporation USB 1.1 Controller
16 0x10B9 0x5239 ALi Corporation USB 2.0 Controller

and now all is fine, my USB stick is running at 2.0 speed as you can see below :
