what you suggested is how I have almost always set up my Amigas but I guess the safe bet is just to make backups and do a fresh install as recommended

did you make sure to put the USB keyboard on the upper(highest) USB connector at the back of the Sam MB?

also triple check that the small pin connectors at J19A and J19B are securely installed as I had one of the pins in J19B connector that was slightly bent and wasnt making a proper connection when I set up my Sam...lastly try changing internal USB connector cables with new

well just ran USBstat and I get for my HP LaserJet 1012

'003 free ID04f0L0d17 (7,1,3) HP Laserjet 1012.'

so from this it's a DOT 4 printer I guess....will check out my HP 2600n later

btw, printers I need to work with my Sam via USB are:

- HP LaserJet 1012
- HP LaserJet 2600n

well originally it was for getting some cash for rwo to make a driver to get USB DOT4 printers (HP etc.) to work with Sam's USB port in OS4.1...but please add anything else you think is needed in this thread and perhaps we can agree on a proper description..
