@Slayer
I too wrote my thesis using Ww7, and still have it installed on OS 4, however it it showing its age a little in the area of tables etc., which lack the flexibility Word offers in that area. Coupled with the fact that I can't print from it now means it gets very little use :(
Incidentally, I had Word 2007 crash on me in work the other day when I tried to resize a table! Ho hum...

Yeah, Lucida Console is pretty nice for programming, but it's just strange that the previous version of AmiBlitz didn't show this problem, but the new version does when using the same font (DejaVu sans mono/14)...

I've seen this glitch too - is it a case of the character widths being miscalculated, maybe only for bold? By using courier fixed or a similar font the tokens are rendered correctly (but it's an ugly font!) I'll check when I get home which font I was using in the earlier version, but it didn't have this problem...
Good work though, each update brings along some nice new features :)

@Thread
For what it's worth, years ago I thought these "icon" buttons were a little bit too big, and it was the case on all platforms and in many software packages. It's only in the past couple of years have the likes of Firefox, IE etc. changed to having smaller buttons, which I'm more comfortable with. I tried the new theme on OWB and straight away changed back to the smaller buttons. Maybe this is the way it has to go, and that's fair enough, but it's a shame not to at least have the option of smaller button images - especially for an OS or apps which might one day think about running on a PDA etc.

@Astral
A DVD Video won't use the audio connector on the back of the drive - if you can't hear audio, check your AHI setup, and make sure you don't have any other programs running which may prevent other apps from opening AHI. The audio connector on the back of the drive is slowly disappearing, and it's a shame, but it's for CD audio only.

All seems well here, except that it crashes on my iGoogle page where it didn't before. I'll post up a crashlog when I have more time. Interestingly though, AmiUpdate's rollback feature seems to simply eat up all my RAM and crash when it runs out, while using 100% of the CPU time, so I'll have to restore it manually...
Well done Joerg though, it's an impressive amount of work!

I agree, would be a very nice feature for a docky.
I also hate using the desktop - one of the things I like best about the Amiga is the Ram Disk - use it for all your unarchiving needs!

@Rudei LOL, it is against all you learn in maths class alright, but then it's not supposed to be maths... It might be clearer if it was reported as v3r10, 3-10 or something I guess, but I'm so used to version numbers in all programmes that I'd be confused if it went from 3.9 to 4.0... I'd expect 4.0 to be a totally new version, probably with more bugs and features than 3.9, instead of a progressive update like this is. From a maths point of view though, surely 3.10 is the same as 3.1?

@salass00 Thanks, I'm quite familiar with the intricacies of C I was trying to keep things as simple as possible by not adding that strings can't be assigned like that. I meant that in general, that's how the statement reads. Since the OP wasn't looking to copy the string buffer I just left it at that... I guess I was a bit off with the assignment being successful - it was early in the morning

@freddix Quote:
if( szBuffer = ".mrw" ){
it does not work ...
Using a single = in C doesn't work like that. It's an assignment, meaning that it copies ".mrw" into the variable szBuffer in your code. And usually it ends up being true because the assignment was successful.
if (a == 3) {
is how you compare two things. However, you can't compare strings like that in C as they're effectively an array of variables, not just a single variable. You need to use the strcmp() function, which will return 0 if they're identical (be careful with that!)

@corto Thanks very much... As I said on the website, it's actually my main music player on my A1 now - though it uses AmigaAmp as a sort of "virtual hardware decoder." I like being able to have all my music organised automatically into folders according to their ID3 tags, and to be able to start the player and continue playing the playlist I was last using with the song I last played. The stand-alone version I actually can't wait to get started on, but I don't get much time to spend on it unfortunately It would be good to see SongPlayer get some more development, the older, assembler-heavy one was always my player of choice on my A1200... Even though it used mpega.library like many other applications, it use much less CPU time than any other player, I guess down to handling of buffers or something. @Thread It's really very encouraging to see so many people developing applications for the platform. Good work!!

@spotUP Well, I'm very slowly working on two related projects. First is an MP3 player based on an A1200, with IR remote, small LCD display and no need for a screen to be attached. The library software for that has grown, and slowly I'm making it into a full-blown application for managing all your music files on your computer - sort of like iTunes, seeing as I really like the way iTunes works and wanted something like that. Like I said, it's slow going though. There's a version almost complete for the MP3 player (which uses a hardware MP3 decoder), which works but isn't at all pretty. My project clicky

I find it will loop endlessly on hotmail.com as well, as soon as you log in. This has been the case for a while, though I rarely use Hotmail so it hasn't been an issue. It just keeps updating the URL bar with a new "random" address and keeps the page blank.

I agree, great update, keep up the good work!!
I think the reason that each tab has its own search bar, sddress bar etc. is that each one is a separate instance of an OWB window, just sharing the existing window, so by and large the program doesn't even know about tabs. It would be more difficult to make it share a toolbar as a lot more of the application would have to be tab-enabled. As for using tabs and windows, it's not ideal, but you can have a new window by running OWB again, and that new window can have tabs as well as the old one... Maybe this could be made faster internally to support multiple windows?
Edit: By the way Joerg, I've managed to make OWB deadlock a couple of times now. If I have lots of tabs open, and I want to close them all, if I click the close gadget fast enough I can get it to freeze the system. I suspect it's an intuition deadlock as it freezes the mouse pointer and all input, but any tasks already running (e.g. music players etc.) appear to be unaffected.

@Slayer
Well, I can still look at putting together an ARexx script to fudge the blanker settings, but opening the graphics driver to send DPMS signals is probably a lot more work than it's worth IMHO. (Though I stand open to correction on this!). I'll check it out anyway - I guess a script would be more useful in some situations than the hotkey for automation etc.

@Slayer
Well, it seems swoodall is correct, the standard Blanker engine has hotkey assignments in the preferences program in the Workbench:Prefs drawer. I've tried it here on my A1 and it works just fine, turning the monitor back on when the mouse is moved or a key pressed. I don't see why it wouldn't work on the Sam - it's down to the video driver to support it, not the motherboard. I wouldn't think there was a current video chipset in the world that didn't support it, and the driver's not gonna be much different on the Sam, if at all.

What about setting a hotkey to load the Blanker with a custom set of preferences which shut the monitor down, and another hotkey to restore the original blanker settings? Should be pretty easy with some ARexx...
