@yescop

I think the reply might have been for me.
It fits in with what happened and it is resolved (for me) as described above.

@amigakit

It's good to know it should be automatic, thanks for your help.
I might update to the radeon2.4 driver this weekend

@Antique

Yeah, sent money to buy ZTools via paypal.
Account hasn't been credited yet.
Presumably this is a manual thing, not auto?

How long does it take for credit to show in the balance?

@atom

Have you always been Virgin Media on that account?
Or were you NTL or Blueyonder for instance?

The link below will give you the correct details for each.

@LiveForIt

I can't see UVD and VDPAU being a priority for A-EON, as their , machines will be able to cope without.

On the other hand it will be a good thing to free up cpu usuage for other tasks.

@djrikki

Any links to some concrete info?
I'm not doubting the devs skills, just wondering if the hardware is up to the job.

Will that definitely be the case or is that just guess work on your part?

@zzd10h

Firstly I must apologise.
I am terrible for never reading the readme's and had no idea these proggies were all created by yourself.

To offer a slightly different opinion to ChrisH, I think it's a good idea to bundle smaller proggies together.
For larger programs, I would agree with ChrisH.

Of course you then have to decide what is/isn't a small program.

I'll definitely be supporting you when these are released on the new store.

@joerg

With the beta 11, I have been able to watch youtube clips at 360p (MP4) using SMTube and the M9 on a Sam440EP.

Previously I had to select 360p (FLV), which is gives a smaller size clip and poorer picture quality, if I wanted to see the clips in sync.

Well done, you have made at least one user a very happy man.

BENCHMARKs: VC: 46.056s VO: 11.656s A: 0.000s Sys: 1.058s = 58.770s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 78.3673% VO: 19.8328% A: 0.0000% Sys: 1.7999% = 100.0000%

These are the 1st benchmarks posted by Joerg for the superman.flv clip.
Hardware used Sam440ep (666 MHz, onboard M9).

Using the same hardware and clip, the best results I have are on the latest beta -

BENCHMARKs: VC: 55.418s VO: 5.122s A: 0.000s Sys: 0.615s = 61.155s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 90.6189% VO: 8.3755% A: 0.0000% Sys: 1.0056% = 100.0000%

Still not as good as Joerg.

What results are others getting on the same hardware?
I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my setup.

Same here, mostly just get static.
Do hear the odd sound on some clips.
Only briefly though and totally distorted.

Sam440EP ITX, 667mhz, Graphics M9.

Clip tested, superman.flv.

Everything in ram.

Joerg Beta 4

BENCHMARKs: VC: 55.843s VO: 5.143s A: 0.000s Sys: 0.633s = 61.619s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 90.6263% VO: 8.3472% A: 0.0000% Sys: 1.0265% = 100.0000%

Kas1e Beta 9

BENCHMARKs: VC: 57.911s VO: 13.490s A: 0.000s Sys: 0.335s = 71.736s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 80.7280% VO: 18.8052% A: 0.0000% Sys: 0.4668% = 100.0000%

@mr2

Totally agree.

On a downloaded clip at 360mp4, I can get the beta9 by kas1e to work nicely with the following options -

vo=p96_pip
lavdopts=skiploopfilter=all
quiet=1
Framedrop="1"

Decent enough quality and plays in sync.
Can't get it to stream with those options though.

The framedrop option when streaming renders the video unwatchable, the skiploopfilter does not.

As the version by Joerg is faster than the version by kas1e, Sam440EP ITX owners might just be able to stream youtube videos at a decent enough quality.

New beta knocks a few seconds off the superman.flv and more off some other clips I tested.

Is buffering still being used in this latest beta?

@Joerg

Think there was something wrong with my earlier test.

This seems to be the norm now.

BENCHMARKs: VC: 59.581s VO: 10.482s A: 0.000s Sys: 0.688s = 70.752s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 84.2113% VO: 14.8159% A: 0.0000% Sys: 0.9728% = 100.0000%

Slightly slower than beta9 from Kas1e but on all other clips I.ve tried yours is slightly quicker.

Cheers

Earlier posting -

Sam440EP ITX onboard graphics.

mplayer -nosound -quiet -benchmark Superman.flv

BENCHMARKs: VC: 65.823s VO: 11.540s A: 0.000s Sys: 0.950s = 78.313s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 84.0514% VO: 14.7354% A: 0.0000% Sys: 1.2132% = 100.0000%

Also tested another video clip, I downloaded from SMTube.
Quality was set at 360.flv within SMTube when downloading.

Downloaded clip

Plays much faster than it should.
