Re: Give glUAE a go

Home away from home

@K-L

I honestly was confused with the installation and all the documentation too at first but after only 1 email with Simone I was up & running like never before quite easily..and yes 'painlessly'

trust me..i tried like crazy to get Deluxe Galaga AGA to work properly on my Samflex with no luck but now I'm so very happy

Do we still need AmiUpdate now that Update 1 is here? Or is that what ringhio is for? I'm a bit confused

just wondering why the bounty for this is closed over at amigabounty.net?? I think it should stay opened like other projects on the site as PHP and MySQL are very important to have on AmigaOS...

@AlfaR0me0

we have AbiWord and GNumeric under AmiCygnix that works pretty good for .doc and .xls files..the only issue is you need a faster machine to be able to scroll large documents comfortably..of ocurse a native port would be nice

@Elwood

well that's fine if it's someone we know & trust but what if a new developer shows up from India and takes the money, shows some progress and then disappears with the money.....just playing devils advocate here

ok but for what ?

People working on bounties are doing it on their spare time.
What I propose here is a full time developer. Working all days on some work will make him complete things much faster than with any bounty.

ok I'll contribute some money if a qualified developer takes the challenge ..uhhh but what happens if time lines arent met and things don't work out???..it could get messy...

@ChrisH

I really don't like messing with E-UAE in general and I guess that's why I always avoided it in the past but now that we have a few great options I am enjoying it very much....glUAE just worked for me right off the bat and it was sooo simple to install

Is it possible to print to a DOT 4 USB printer in AmiCygnix? I know rwo is working on a driver for OS4.1 but was just wondering about AmiCygnix as I see it supports USB scanners...

to all Deluxe Galaga AGA lovers like me, the glUAE helper runs great on my Samflex@800 and I had no luck at all with RunINUAE or EasyUAE to get this game going before..though to be fair to RunInUAE Chris did mention that it was geared for ECS/OCS games

I'm not sad as I retired my original 64 and A500 a long time ago but still boot them occasionally to keep them 'healthy' so retiring does'nt mean abondoning in my case
