Yes, it wasn't tested enough. That's why I hope they'll release it on its own without waiting for the next update - *crossing fingers* :)

I can't stress enough how important USB 2.0 support is. Common NEC, VIA, ALI etc chipsets must be supported. Another important thing is support for >2GB RAM total (physical RAM + SWAP). But, at least the USB thing should be available the soonest possible, maybe as a quickfix and not wait for the next full update. I wish we would get Firewire support, at least for mass storage devices, but that's unlikely I guess.

@yescop
I understand what you mean , but that's already done, my ports in ctorrent and my router are fine. What I said is CTorrent looks at 0.0.0.0:<port> and while <port> is fine, the ip is obviously not 0.0.0.0 and that, atm as Antique said, can't be changed. Whether this affects performance or not i don't know, but fom my experience you need to have the ip right to have the best possible speed. Hope I was clear enough now :)

Yes it works here fine, but I think both ip and port should be correct for optimum performance, but i could be wrong.

A problem I've noticed and I'm pretty positive it wasn't there before the update is that when in 32-bit colr and open Dopus 4 at the same color depth, when selecting files in a lister there's a big lag, ie your pointer has reached file number 50 and Dopus has marked at the same time up to file number 35 and takes a second until it reaches 50, dunno if I'm clear enough. Just try to do this in (mark files) in Dopus under 1920x1080x32bit and you'll see what I mean. It has nothing to do with the slightly newer dopus4 version either, the older one behaves the same under the update. Now switch to the same resolution and 16-bit depth and it works fine. The problem is that if dopus is set at 16bit the screen switching between dopus and workbench screens is big. Maybe it's the drop shadows that make a difference as they're not available in any mode below 32-bit. Is there a way to disable them for particular screens only?
EDIT: I disabled the drop shadows while in 32bit mode both in wb and dopus and indeed that's what causes the dopus slowdown.

No need to reinstall and no improvements or problems as far as I can tell, at least on my system.

Really? Maybe so, I can't really recall for sure, but I thought there wasn't such an option. My bad! :p

@Antique
works great here both on 4.1u1 and 4.0 classic! First I saw my peg dling a torrent @ 700+ KB! I hadn't seen thias thread and sent you an email already with a question: Why is it it always listens to 0.0.0.0:xxxx port? I mean, how is the IP configured? Port is fine, but the IP is all zeros and that doesn't seem right is it?

@ChrisH
At GUI prefs you may choose between aggressive memory consumption that results into faster gfx updates and conservative memory consumption that's a bit slower, but eats much less video memory. I suppose ppl with 64mb gfx mem will benefit from that.

ok, that's what I've found and many of them already mentioned:
New OWB with close buttons per tab New Tunenet that rocks! New DVPlayer with a sound scope New WBStartup system New interconnection system via Rhino-something :p New subdocky, dunno what's improved, but much bigger filesize. Could be the compilation change though. New icons (how obvious was that?) New gfx mode for lower mem consumption, but slower framerate New mouse pointer New Directory Opus 4 New titlebar info New GUI element adjustable drop shadows
Probably more, some of them already mentioned in the update description anyway.

It's good to have individual close gadgets on tabs of course, but I really miss the minus-tab introduced in 3.22 as with that I was able to rapidly close multiple opened tabs without moving the mouse. It'd be great if it was brought back optionally via tooltype and placed next to the add tab button.

Just wanted to say thanks for updating it for OS4! It'd be great if you could get rid of that DSI, but it works anyway - so , no big deal!

@broadblues
Yes, I'm aware of that much, what I suggested is if there could be an alternative to proper decoding the swf as in streaming the video with local controls in the page instead a la tubexx, but embedded. That's what most people need a flash plugin for, or so I believe.

@afxgroup
If what Fab said is the cause of lag (youtube's slider), would it be possible to optionally use a local control panel for the streaming video? Even if there's no timeslider and only volume, play/pause. As I said just optional for those who need it faster.

Ultima VIII engine?

Hi all! So, since we already have Exult which mimics the Ultima VII engine and plays so well, how about Pentagram: http://pentagram.sourceforge.net/ which is what Exult is for Ultima VIII? It's still not as polished as Exult, but you can finish the game with it. Is anyone willing to port it over to OS4? I have fond memories of this game on my old PC, although quite buggy at times, still it was a great experience and imo a better game than VII.

I certainly do prefer it than the current offering. Also, what Walkero suggested about favicons would be very nice!

Another bug that I have and this is for the peg2 version is that if I try to boot Os41 after I power on peg2 I just get a screen full of garbage gfx.... Now, if I boot MOS then reset (even from the reset button of the case) I can boot ok in Os41. This happens for the install cd as well for my installed system. Tried with 2 different Radeon 9200s. That's quite annoying as there are times when I want to go straight into Os41 and I have to boot MOS first then reset and enter Os41. Anyone else had this bug occuring?
