@Atheist
You are probably one of the nuts I would miss if I left! Let's just say I had a bad day. I have just come home from a soccer match Adelaide United vs Sydney and we won 2-0. The crowd was 23000 which is amazing for Australian football let alone Adelaide which is generally an AFL Australian Rules Football) town. It has helped lift my spirits.w Our lads also recently made the quarter finals of the World Club Championship but went down to Osaka again ( those guys have given us a football lesson 3 times!) who went on to meet and lose to Man Utd 5-3. We came 5th overall which is actually nuts but it has lifted the profile of soccer big time here.
Cobra and others have given me some more hope, from my perspective I will actually be going backwards getting a SAM, I really loved my XE and it is hard to let go, however, I really doubt if I could go a day without checking an Amiga related site. Thanks for the your support I do appreciate it.

@ChrisH Thanks. It is good that DVD use is fine barring the bug which Cobra elaborated on. I was just a bit sown last night, a nice juicy SAM would probably cheer me up! -:)

@fuskoSCN Thanks cobber, I am not for one minute bagging SAM, that is not my style, I am sure it is great BUT having lived through all the crap since I bought my A1 it gets very tiring. For instance, of real worry to me is the ability (or non) of SAM to play DVDs properly, I still don't have a complete understanding of this but if it can't then it will always be a toy and should be of real concern to all Amigans in this day and age. I take what others have replied on board and will reflect over the next few days. The lack of news or feedback and inconsistent web pages are still things of great concern.

@Elwood
Several, more than a week ago. I have 2 dead G4 modules which ACube have no spares, I have ordered a SAM board but there seems to be a huge wait with no reasonable feedback, I am considering canceling my order and if I can't get my modules fixed I am considering leaving the Amiga scene altogether as I doubt SAM can replace my OS4 experience to date and I don't want to struggle with things any more.
I am just a bit down at the moment but I do feel the feedback to new customers has been extremely poor of late and makes me think why bother.

@Faranheit
Thanks. My comments were purely speculation given the lack of feedback to the community on back orders and from the lack of updates on relevant sites. I can well understand why some people are "nervous" about their orders given little feedback from ACube or their suppliers.
ACube are seeking distributors worldwide but have not advised on back orders (delays expected etc) to actual customers. This behavior will make many old time Amigans think again before ordering as we have been through this all to often in the past. BTW I do have a SAM on order.
I have also emailed several times re the fixing of my G4 module, I had one reply which stated they have no more spares but I have had no further replies on my inquiries as to whether they expect any new modules in the future. I find the lack of response quite rude and disappointing and I am really considering my future participation in the Amiga market.

Interesting, funny today I could not find SAM on Amigakit's site at all. I wonder if they are about to just move to Flex as the base board? Lucky I have an 9250 PCI card.

Agghhh. Do you know how painful this news is given my A1 XE has died and I am waiting for a SAM (stop laughing TCD!) -:)
Great work Ed, this solves 2 out of the 3 immediate wants for OS4, Excel and Word compatibility, the other of course is a modern browser which we know is being addressed by OWB and Netsurf.
Oh well I am having fun Amiganising my XP box (not too successfully either).
Have a good new year folks.

@Troels
OK. Firstly people should not get too bent out of shape with this news, the overall "Amiga" scene is tough, very tough. People may act with the best of intentions only to see it all collapse. Troels, kudos to you for trying and for putting yourself in the firing line, for your efforts I thank you. As for the port not making it, well bounties are for developers who do make it or get damn close. I am not for a minute judging Marcin but if the conditions of the bounty have not been met or are indeed not meeting agreed deadlines then I agree with Troels lets just move on.
Marcin, you have obviously done an incredible job for MOS, it is widely agreed that writing a fully functional browser for any OS by one person is a mighty task if not impossible. I wish you all the best in your future efforts and thank you for your attempt with an OS4x port, obviously the idiotic situation between red and blue camps originally would not have helped, at least you tried to bridge the gap.
For may part I would like my donations split like this, Troels costs, then 50/50 with Chris and Joerg.
Cheers Ace

@TCD
I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers but consider this many, many of us have been frustrated by the lack of things (info, HW and SW) over the many years,
Here we are at a point where a company is interested in developing for us and they are "questioned" upon the failure to observe a "delivery" date despite having already delivered the HW in a prior production run taking a very big financial risk in doing so especially in the light of the current legal dispute.
Now let's not mention the world economy.
You are obviously extremely eager to get back into the world of AOS and that is brilliant but the one thing you will need to exhibit and practice is patience. Sorry if this sounds like a sermon but it is the way. Amiga is coming back slowly but surely.
Cheers

@TCD
For freek sake man chill out. ACube do not build the machines, others do on their behalf. There are a million reasons things can be delayed in the end it boils down to who you deal with. I have always dealt with Amigakit and they have been fantastic, just yesterday I ordered a SAM because all this hype is just that and I made my mind up I want a SAM (my 2 x XEs are sick). yes the world turmoil may play a part on availability of parts but that will also be true of normal PC components which of course the SAM is predominately made of.
Just relax and give them a chance. The last thing we want is for ACube to walk away from this market because of bad vibes, or is that what you want?

@freddix You don't need Q3, the 304.zip file has all you need. I find it only a tad slower than Q# but I'm a terrible player so that helps me.

@samo79 Works great here too! One note, you do not need to unpack the .pak files (I did at first), I know the instructions didn't say to do it but I couldn't help myself which made my first install fail. Works fine by just moving the .pak files into the directory.
Thanks Mr Capehill for your fine work.

@Valiant
This is interesting for me. I am considering buying a PS3 for (son + wife and yeh ok me Xmas). Son already has XBos + PS2, wife and I have Mac X, Amiga and XP. Reality is I am no modern game junkie (old, very old time Amigan here) but I like the idea that it would be in my lounge, play blueray and access the net via Linux (I am very comfortable with YDL, Ubunutu etc etc) and games are a bonus for my las and mates.
Why can't you move the download? Does it specifically disable USB? Any advice taken on.

Wow what a difference, I've been playing all night and day. Before 4.1 I didn't have mch luck with FPSE, it seemed slow and amigainput was flakey. Now it's great, give it a shot and post your thougts.

@PEB Great work again. Is there anyway we could launch the program through clicking an image in the toolbar.
@Joerg Thanks for your work on OWB, this version really flies. Look forward to downloads being implemented, then OWB will be my default browser until then I need IBrowse or Netsurf to download. Great work.

@drHirudo Where do I paste or select that line. Both programs only give me the option of keyboard. My gamepad is found by Amigainput no problems, I have just been using it playing FPSE (Under 4.1 it rocks!). I just dont seem to have a choice under Warpsnes (which I deleted and did a fresh install). I am guessing we do not use lowlevel mapping for these programs?
