@MichaelMerkel
Not yet, though I was able to send a report to Deron, including a couple of screengrabs that held what might be valuable information for him. When I looked inside the app package I was able to double-click on the actual UNIX app, which launched through the terminal, and then gave a consistent reason for suddenly shutting back down.

Major Update on PageStream Status:
I am now downloading an alpha version of PageStream5 OSX. Obviously not yet ready for prime time, but this is an excellent sign that they are getting things together.

Has anyone noticed the clouds in the center of the upper photo, just above the cloud deck? They're almost like a cosmic rorsatch (spelling?) test.

This issue involved 3 different computers, running 3 different OS's, a lot of work, and a lot of software (including our beloved PageStream). The black dot in the upper picture is a bird flying down river. Should you wish the PDF, click here.

ICC Profiles that Work with Samsung CLP-550N?

If this is the wrong forum, please move this thread to the right one. I don't know if anyone here uses this color laser printer, but if they do, I would be curious to know if they have found a good ICC profile to use with it, and if so, if they could point me to that profile. If not, I am currently downloading a more recent driver than what I have had (it requires OSX 10.4 which I don't have, but I figured it might have a profile that I can scavenge ).

@Swoop Does the A1 have more than a stereo input as standard? Ooops! Sorry! Forget I asked that. I just got done hooking up two mics and a mixing console to my Mac 9600 and then ask a silly question like that. I use ProTools Free to do my recording, so I'm sure that by mixing, you must mean mixing of various audio files as tracks on the hard drive. What are Mixer's Capabilities, by the way?

@Outcast Yeah! Events certainly had me worried. Now, however, I have uploaded another Chat, in an effort to allow people to use my situation to apply to their own lives. It is possible that another will be forthcoming on the matter of reading into situations what is not there. /me wipes his brow, relieved.

I'm posting this just in case. There are several factors that are leaving me quite frightened at the moment, and if my fears are realized, this will be my last post here for quite some time. I don't expect that to be the case, but I am frightened enough that I am posting this just in case. If anyone needs to know more, I have uploaded a simple, unadorned Chat to the Chats directory on my website. It's not even linked in to the 5 most recent list, nor is it announced in the blog, but you can get it from the Chats directory. To top it off, in my daily Bible reading, today I begin reading Lamentations. Anyway, I hope to be back real soon?like tonight. In spite of all, one must still go to work.

Today (after having left it untended for a few days) I went to my mailbox at the end of the street (apartment complex; I guess mailboxes at our door is too expensive). Among the junk I found a contact from the electric company addressed to my apartment, but with someone else's name, and marked "new occupant". I haven't gotten any eviction notices, but do you think they're trying to tell me something? I dropped that letter, along with my next month's rent, into the apartment office's drop box, with a reminder written on the letter that I still live there.

I just wanted to urge everyone to be extremely careful in responding to any emails you get that are apparently from your chosen financial institution.
Tonight I got an email that I first thought was from my bank. This email was so good that I actually clicked one of the links in the file, and almost started filling out the form on the resulting page before I noticed that I had not been taken to my bank's site. The email contained a threat that my account would be suspended for my own good if I did not update my information (It's almost midnight and really close to any reasonable bedtime, so please forgive me my failure of alertness). When I went back to examine the email the links all led to the same URL, which was a page on a numeric IP rather than a named domain, and demanded that the form be filled out during a short time period during which my bank would be closed and could not act to limit the fraud that would have resulted. One thing that is common among the computer savy is that we tend to get a bit prideful regarding our own abilities. Please, take warning. These folks are very good at what they do, so much so that as careful as I am (some folks online even call me paranoid, remember), they almost got me.
Please, be very, very careful.

That's nothing. Click in some seemingly innocuous part of the page, and do a select-all. You'll highlight all of them anywhere on the page, even where you couldn't see them before.

Does anyone know what's up with PageStream? Their homepage hasn't been updated in quite a while (I just did a forced refresh on the page). In fact the most recent news item is over 3? months old. Now, admittedly, the version I'm waiting on is the OSX version, but they had been headed into development of the Amiga versions last I heard. Nothing has appeared on the site regarding new Amiga versions being uploaded, and the Amiga versions are in line before the OSX version, so I want the Amiga versions uploaded. Before you ask, I don't do the PageStream mailing lists because of the way I've been treated on them. I have the choice of either waiting quietly, or waiting with a whole bunch of abuse heaped on. I choose to wait quietly. My concern is for the developer(s) and the product. By the way, the alt text for the strikethrough icon in the Koivi editor is mispelled. That being said, once it's done, the Koivi editor promises to be a big leap beyond the other forum editors I've seen. Have you thought about providing Gentium as one of the fonts available for it's use, and providing a link to the download site for it? The page is here.
