RELATED QUESTION:
While I'm waiting for the delivery of the replacement VisionTek HD 7750 GDDR5 gfx card, I would like to know if there is a way to verify that the driver(s) in Southern Islands were properly installed.
The installation in my case was "very short," taking only seconds, if not just a second. I received a message saying that installation was completed.

UPDATE: After trying all the possible solutions suggested in different forums, and since none of them fixed the problem, and also following some of the latest advice, I went ahead and I called Newegg (store from where I bought the card) and ordered a replacement. Shipment will be expedited, so hopefully this weekend I will be unveiling more of this mystery. I'm hoping that this card I got first, was just a black sheep inf the batch where it came from, and that the new one will work just fine. Fingers crossed.

@pseudaxos
Yes, and no luck.
My problem is that I don't have signal from the computer or gfx card to the monitor, so I don't see anything.

I have tried all 3 ports available in my card and monitor. HDMI & DVI and DVI-VGA with adapter.
The next thing I think I will try is to replace my 350W PSU by a 400 or 450W.

@pseudaxos
This is exactly what my UBoot > Video Preferences show:
video => Boot from graphics card : PCI/PCI-E And below => PCI-E 1x / SATA-2
I don't know how to check the J16 pin. No idea of where to look.
@AmigOS,
Put your old graphic card, turn on firstly your computer screen, then, turn your Sam on and press Return when prompt. Be careful ! Read your Sam manual => the keyboard must be in a specific usb port (at the right of the backplate), because some keyboards won't respond during UBoot if there are on the worse usb port... This could be very important to manage to go into UBoot prefs
In menu prefs : video => Boot from graphics card : PCI/PCI-E Below => Choose with keyboard PCI-E 1x / SATA-2
The final thing important is to open your J16 pin on your motherboard (have you got a pci SATA card sil3114, 3112 or 3115 ?).

And how can I check that? The new UBoot boots up very fast and pressing Enter to change preferences doesn't stop the booting process to allow editing.
pseudaxos on 2015/7/6 12:06:31
@AmigOS,
In Uboot prefs menu, you must have :
-Boot from graphics card : PCI/PCI-E
and
-PCI-E 1x / SATA-2
On your motherboard, is your J16 pin open too ?

I managed to update the UBoot after verifying that my SAM460ex is a 50 baseclock. Thanks to Jabirulo for pointing out in a different forum, that I needed to make the utility executable. Now I have to wait for my son to give a me hand swapping the gfx card back in again. My son is in the business of building gaming PC's, so is very handy with hardware upgrades. I'll let you know how it goes later. Fingers crossed. UPDATE July 5th, 2015 - 4:49 PM Pacific Time After completing UBoot update, we put the VisionTek HD7750 gfx card, but again no luck. We tried connecting to the monitor with HDMI, DVI and VGA, with no results in either case. There is no signal from the computer to the monitor. The 7750 card was tested again in a PC and it works fine. The booklet that came with gfx card speaks of a 4-pin power connection to connect to the PSU, but my card doesn't have that connector. Please see here: http://s358.photobucket.com/user/AmigOS923/library/Could any other user of the same VisionTek HD7750 PCI and SAM460EX share details of his connection?

Guys, this is my card: VisionTek 900549 Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129263) and it's listed in Hans'list of compatible cards, and also reported working by other SAM460EX users. To answer the other question, yes, I just finished testing the card in a beefed up gaming PC and the card works (under power for that beats gaming system, but works fine). Am I the only lucky one who can't make it work in a SAM460EX?

@Hans
I'm using an HDMI connection which has been working very well with my old gfx card.
What I mean with a "black screen," is nada, nothing. There is no signal from the computer to the monitor.
I can't see anything in the monitor, so I don't get to see the u-boot sequence or anything else.
When I put my old card back everything works fine again.

1. Early today I updated my RadeonHD.chip to 2.10 and I can see that it was installed correctly, by checking the version in shell.
2. After installing radeonhd 2.1, I downloaded next RadeonHD Southern Islands and installed
3. After running the installation of Warp3D Southern Islands, i got a message saying that installation was complete, but after swapping the old Gygabyte GV-4650C-GI, with my new Vision Tek HD 7750 PCIE 1GB GDDR5 SFF, all I get is a black screen.
Am I missing something? Did I forget to do something prior to swapping cards?

I have received my Vision Tek Radeon 3D Hd 7750 card (slim profile) and downloaded the Radeon HD Southern Island drivers.
Could someone tell me in which order I need to prepare my system and install the card?
I understand that I need to install the SI drivers first, but my doubt is if that would affect the use of my SAM460ex while I find the time to do the actual installation of the card?
I will have a computer technician at a shop nearby doing the card installation, as I still don't feel comfortable messing around with the hardware. I will do this this Friday.
Please advise.

Thank you all for your answers. I managed to find and bought VisonTek AMD Radeon HD 7750 SFF 1GB x16 PCIe (900549 Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card), low profile.
Now I'll buy the SI drivers and wait to receive the card in about a week from now.

Amigans out there, I need your help in knowing which model of Radeon 3D card is used and recommended for a SAM460EX, AmigaOS4.1 FE, and to be supported by Southern Islands drivers.
I want to upgrade my original Radeon RV730 card for a 3D card, but I don't want to buy the wrong card; they are not cheap.
Thanks in advance for any help.

This is too much information to digest easily. So what's the recommended card for a SAM460ex running AmigAS 4.1 FE, and to be compatible with the Southern Islands drivers?

After some tweaking, I managed to get Jack running in my SAM460ex, but the Volume selector (or ast least that is what it looks like) has a red banner on it. I did install Mixer and the other recommended applications listed in the read me files in the Jack installation drawer. Also the "+" and "-" signs on the left hand side don't either. Please use this link to see sceenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ew5rclzrnhcas7/Jack%20for%20AmigaOS?dl=0Help will be appreciated.

RAM Disk 2 appearing in RunInUAE

All of the sudden a "RAM Disk 2" started appearing on the screen of the emulated Workbench in RunInUAE when launching WHDLoad games.
Why is this happening? Is it normal? If not, how to get rid of that second RAM unit?
