What's "a.org"? (oh ok, I'm joking, well kind of - I haven't visited it in many many months since it seems to want to have little to do with OS4)

LOL! It gets called troll.org too Theyre more MorphOS aficionados but its a shame they cant just cut out the childish remarks when it comes to OS4.

EDIT: Has any got a link to the video TJ did? 15000 views is amazing!

Ive always been puzzled at Amiga companies not releasing sales figures?? No one expects them to post numbers in the tens of thousands, so what are they afraid of?

TBH, If I saw something I wanted but was dragging my feet in buying getting low sales figures that would prompt me to buy sooner rather than later.

Brilliant video dude :)

Perhaps a suggestion for youre next one, maybe you can show the SAM browsing more common sites such as the BBC or eBay? Maybe a voice-ver commentary too?

Keep em coming! This is great for awareness of the platform!

Thanks to all for the good advice

Im hoping Im in with a shout for a 733Mhz SAM Flex, we will see. I pretty much settled on going for the slightly faster system than the 667Mhz one now, as long as I can get it for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the advice guys

I think I will leave the 667Mhz SAM440EP and look for a Flex 733Mhz model. Its a shame, theres a 667Mhz SAM440EP for sale on Amibay right now (Its £450 though which is more than I want to pay anyway).

I saw this at AmigaWorld:

http://amigaworld.net/modules/classif ... ?pa=viewannonces&lid=2936

From user jas_mc. Im not registered there but it let me fill out an email form, no response from him though

Its my first foray into OS4 so Im wanting to try a bit of everything to sample the OS - gaming, browsing, trying out various apps and some emulation too.

I plan on getting a cheap SAM first and then an x1000 should I like the system and enjoy using it Upon some discussion and research, I think its wise to go for a faster SAM rather than the slower 533/667Mhz ones.

If anyone can point me to the sale of an appropriate system Id be most grateful I looked at Vesalia and AmigaKit, but TBH Im looking for something cheaper so it will have to be second hand.

I thought that might be the case Ill keep my search to the faster models then

Can you point me to where some of these SAMs are on sale?
I havent seen anything on eBay or on Amibay, and Ive seen one on AmigaWorld.net but I havent had a response from the guy selling it.

The SAM I was offered is via a friend on another forum but from my research and your response, I dont think it will be suitable for my needs.

SAM440EP 667Mhz - Hardware questions
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi all

I am currently on the look out for a SAM and have had a SAM440EP 667Mhz offered to me.

I was wondering:

Can the RAM be increased higher than 512MB?

Can I install a PCI Radeon 9200 graphics card in it?

Can it be overclocked to say 733Mhz? If so, how?

Many thanks in advance
Taj

Re: ANT meeting

I went along to this demonstration, Steve Jones is a truly enthusiastic individual!!
The demonstration showed what the x1000 can do without breaking a sweat, and it was good

As good as all the stuff we saw was, what kept ringing in my head was, this isnt even optimised yet! And theres another core to enable yet too

I really hope Trevor et al dont lose interest in this platform and push onwards until the user base can really start to grow. With programs such as RunInUAE (a killer app in my eyes, should be installed by default on OS4) and the upcoming Timberwolf browser, the next gen Amiga platform is really looking good.

I vote for Steve to do the PR!

Hello everyone :)

My names Taj, some of you may know me from Amibay as Tajmaster.

I went along to the ANT x1000 demonstration and met a few folk there that frequent here including ChrisH.

Chris was brilliant in spending time with me and showing me OS4.1, something Id barely glanced at previously as I didnt have the hardware. Im now sold on the OS and want to get a SAM first to settle in then an x1000 :D

I look forward to contributing to the forum :)

Taj
