Re: My Donations after christmas:

@Raziel
I know I shouldn't be complaining. Relatively good health, food on the table every day and a roof over my head, no need for more than that

EUR1700 is not much to cover living costs, in fact that would be impossible to me. Hopeully everything is much cheaper where you live compared to Denmark.

@Raziel
LOL, know the feeling of seeing your paycheck gone within a day or two

Have no money for donations myself, but I got a refund of my donation for the Amizilla bounty which I transferred towards timberwolf.
Apart from that no donations from me rest of this year as I have been without job since I got fired 7 months ago.

Have been going to school instead studying as an electrician. Starting apprenticeship next week and then follows 32 months without very much money (2200 EUR a month 1400 after tax)

Luckily I only have small house, small car and small loan etc. so we can easily manage to live for the money me and my gf earn.

When my economy is a bit better than it is after 6 months in school I will ofcourse make some donations again

But not the feature we need the most IMHO.

But I would welcome a Titan board even if only one core was supported in the beginning

One overpriced 1,4 GHz G4 Mac Mini for sale in Denmark.. Still it's quite nice and speedy hardware. Could do with some better graphics though..

And to be on-topic: I personally couldn't care any less about such comparison but stuff like that has always been interesting to some, so I'm sure they will bother to read it:)

@joerg

Yes I agree that Paypal is very expensive and at amigabounty we're also looking into using Moneybookers as a supplement to Paypal .
Does anyone here have experience with Moneybookers, does it work as good as Paypal and is it something people would be using?

EDIT: Will certainly try to get the developers paid another way than via Paypal, if possible .

@Kicko

So that's where I should run with the amigabounty money, off to get a flight ticket then. Sounds very exotic and I am sure everyone there will be happy to talk with someone from Denmark. Kicko you must go too as my bank advisor

@Elwood

Well personally I enjoy both sites but I have no doubt that amigans.net are the best site in regards to OS4.

AW.net is also a great site but unless you have too much time on your hands you better stay clear of discussions with certain people

@Alpyre

Sorry that your machines are not covered by this bounty but Amigabounty is basically meant to support the newest incarnation of OS4. Currently that is 4.1 and when Timberwolf actually takes advantage to stuff not present in 4.0 it has to be that way.

I hope we see some attractive software and hardware which will make you upgrade soon

Mouse input not working on my OS4 installation. (solved)

Got hold of an old and very dusty (but working 8x) CD-ROM drive from my old job and after booting OS4.1 the mouse finally works again.

Now I just wonder why it doesn't work when booted from HD?

Better USB support would be really sweet and like many other OS4 users I also made a donation to get Poseidon opensourced.
Anyone knows what the situation is regarding USB2 in OS4's native USB stack?

@TiredOfLife

Probably there will be some licensing issues and now that i looked into it a bit I suspect it would be a rather big project.

Personally I will be looking forward to the day we get USB2 support

But to be honest I haven't really looked much in to the ideas myself, that's why I put them up for discussion here:)

I got an email containing these suggestions.

Feel free to discuss what you would like to see and whether it is realistic.

Please use these forums to launch/discuss new ideas as well as submitting them to amigabounty.net site. It is interesting to see the community reaction before opening any bounties.

-------------------------------------------------------
SSH:

I realize we have the Unix SSH application ported to AmigaOS4, but without any proper support in the console it is not possible to use it to its full intent. I am not entirely sure which approach is the best yet, but if other applications might benefit from it, then a new console handler like "kingcon-handler" but for Unix support would be most suitable, otherwise something similar to Putty on Windows should be enough.

-------------------------------------------------------

-Datatype conversion program:

An application for conversion between the different datatypes installed in a system. Of course not everything can be converted into something else, but som examples would be:

* Transcoding mp3 songs

*Extracting audio from video clips

*Converting between different video formats

The application should support "templates" for easy conversion to different formats, for example "DVD", "iPhone", etc. These templates should define, in text/xml, the optimal output parameters for the intended target device.

It could possibly support plugins for extending the settings dialogues of the various output datatypes in case they are extended in the future.

-------------------------------------------------------

-DVD/Blu-Ray creation:

Similar to DVD-Lab that exists for Windows, it could possibly use the "Datatype conversion program" as a plugin for converting the incoming audio and video to dvd format.

-------------------------------------------------------

FTP server:

A proper FTP server for AmigaOS4 with support for FTP, FTPS, FTPES and possibly SFTP. It should have plugin support or be open source to be able to be extended to use the possibly coming implementation of a multi user file system.

-------------------------------------------------------

Bluetooth stack:

Pretty straight forward ;) Plugin support to be able to handle all the different profiles, "A2DP", etc. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile)

-------------------------------------------------------

Visual installation creator:

An easy way to create install scripts for the official "installer" application, should support "templates" as well .
-------------------------------------------------------

None of the ideas where mine but send to me by email:)

Bye

If you mean why Sony should open the PS3, I can't really see any reasons and I'm sure they won't do it.

They have had decent sales as it is and now they are getting close to releasing the slim version the price will be lowered. I don't see why they would change anything.

In the perfect world the PS3 would have 1Gb RAM+ and full access to the GPU.

It's not a perfect world so I guess I will never be able to use the PS3 for AmigaOS4+

@Mikey_C

To me having a JAVA webbrowser plugin someday is important. EVERY(!) homebanking solution in Denmark use JAVA and that is the only reason that I own a PC.

Guess it would be nice for a lot of developers too?
