Hey
Just a quick one, under AmigaOS4 the SetEnv and GetEnv commands reside in memory. I seem to recall that these two command used to sit inside the C: directory in Classic AmigaOS - right or wrong?
Same question for AROS and MorphOS, do they reside on disk or in memory?

Made some fantastic progress on Jack today on my day off and yesterday evening. The App-Store is now practically complete, I even had enough time to expand the Arexx Port.
It is now possible for developer applications to talk to the AppStore via Arexx to perform various tasks:
* Determine whether a specific item has been installed by the user * Manual query of which version they have downloaded * Download from the AppStore, if the user already has an item on their list and a newer version exists on the AppStore, the newer is automatically downloaded and potentially... * Install them too, of course this depends whether the downloaded item has an Install script that Jack can actually find.
Full Arexx Documentation will be supplied for Developers take advantage of this feature.
It's time for Developers to start creating Installation scripts again rather than leaving it up to users!

Evening, been working tireless on Jack again tonight and over the weekend. I present a few screenshots of the App-Store from my work over the last couple of days. Fully Working New/Recent page tab, minus user rating numbers found on next image. Edit: And oh yeah, I have sinced removed the double scrollbars... took me ages to notice this! http://www.lakemarketingandevents.co. ... k/Jack_ScreenCapture2.pngDownloads page tab with introduction of using rating numbers, and now the Download button has changed into a 'Install Now'.. which incidentally does nothing atm. http://www.lakemarketingandevents.co. ... k/Jack_ScreenCapture3.pngNow shows that I have voted for (or more accurately the last person who logged-in) on a few downloads in the App-Store with the Rate button disabling accordingly. http://www.lakemarketingandevents.co. ... k/Jack_ScreenCapture4.pngApart from two buttons in the toolbar, Install Now and Check?, all the rest function as would be expected across all page tabs.

@all Added Sketchblock to AmigaOS.net today - however the software description is a little abrupt if you ask me. So I devised a little fun competition for SketchBlock users. https://www.facebook.com/AmigaOS/posts/436323846449138

Nothing wrong with using screen real estate perhaps users should start using hd screen modes.
In my opinion Reaction gadgets are generally too small, MUI windows suffer the same problem.

Just re upload it again and enter passcode this time.
btw Orgyn this field should be set to password in the html - I can see the passcode as I type!

@atheist
Maybe not completely relevant, but perhaps an avenue to look down if your looking for private investment in an idea is something I stumbled across online recently in the last couple of weeks. Because the banks are said to be 'no longer lending™' - new initiatives are starting to take off here in the UK - and possibly elsewhere. (?)
Google - 'peer to peer lending' and look at sites such as fundingcircle.com. Perhaps similiar schemes exist for you closer to home.

@fred It may seem like small news for some, but the AmigaOS page on Facebook now has a much easier web address to remember. You can now simply navigate towards the following address. https://www.facebook.com/AmigaOSGiving the page what is called a 'Vanity Url' was a pretty straightforward task, however we did have to wait for permission from Facebook as someone (an individual user) was already hogging the name. In other news, if you haven't already please Like the page and have a go at answering the Polls.

Thats all MUI's responsibility.
App-Store: The boing image is straight from AISS, nothing non-standard, standard MUI text alignment. Looks fine to me.
Prefs:I want it to be clear that they are clickable, standard MUI buttons you see there.

@kas1e
Its more of a file browser with a few options such as delete, rename, get information, rather than a Filer replacement. Its the same one that is already found in Jack, but in more 'familiar' surroundings rather than my custom toolkit.
If borderless, alpha-transparent windows are possible with MUI then great, however I recall a thread regarding FlipClock where the topic came up saying it wasn't possible.

Hi, A real quick post from me, development of Jack is still on-going, I have posted a little blog on the website that I run alongside the software. http://jackforamigaos.wordpress.com/2013/02/13/jack-mui-style/Gonna post more pictures in a week or two, atm I am spending all my precious time actually doing something constructive - i.e. coding.

@ddni
Or simply when another icon is added to the bar!
It needs to work exactly like the one in MorphOS in two respects:
1) The position of all child icons are updated when icons are added to the bar. 2) When one parent icon is open any other already opened parent icons and their children should close... it looks messy right now.
