@ScottCabit Yes, of course. What you need to do is contact the authors and tell them to update the database at www.amiupdate.net and these applications will automagically been seen and updated for you. Simon

AppPaths is NOT obsolete at all. It was originally implemented due to AmigaOS not having any way to tell what applications are actually installed on the system. In order to try and find a way around it, certain "compliant" code needed to be added to the application, which writes its installed location into AppPaths.
With the advent of 4.1 Update 1, AppDir: was implemented as a system wide feature. This allowed the location of used programs to be tracked.
As a consequence, applications targeting Update 1 and beyond no longer need the "compliance" code, but apps designed to run under lesser OS versions still require it.
So AmiUpdate uses both AppPaths and AppDir to try and determine what's installed. Do NOT go copying variables around as this may have serious consequences.
Basically, under Update 1 and beyond, forget about "Compatible Applications". It will be removed in a later version anyway.

@Valiant
I am yet to see such behaviour here on my public test machine.
If someone could narrow down why this is happening, I would be grateful.
Basically, the tab images are the cancel, cancel_s and cancel_g in the "images" directory in the CodeBench directory. They can be copied over from a previous install, or from the distribution archive. I have no idea why they are suddenly missing after the update, there is nothing in the installer that removes them.
The worrying part is the "system update" you said you applied before the error happened. Could that have been the png.datatype?

Check the intuition/intuition.h file. In there you will find lots of window tags, the ones supported by window.class are listed in the window_cl.doc autodoc.
The ones primarily of interest to you are WA_Top and WA_Left.
Due to the dynamic nature of layout.gadget, specifying WA_Width and WA_Height is ignored, but you can use WA_InnerWidth and WA_InnerHeight to specify the window size. This is probably better off left to the user preferences (and later the snapshot position) though.

@trixie This will be handled as an OS update later. There is no need to do this manually. Further information can be found at: http://wiki.amigaos.net/index.php/BOOPSI_Popup_Menus_-_Part_3Simon

Unfortunately, the speedtips are only available when the window is active, as they rely on the IDCMP_INTUITICKS message from intuition to calculate how long before opening the hintinfo.
Due to this, they cannot be forced to open either. The style is not settable either, unfortunately.

It would be nice if we could put some names to those faces. I've got most of them, but there are a few there I don't recognize. (I'm not going to embarrass anyone by pointing out who's who).

@Lazi 1) As far as installing both versions goes, probably the best way is to install one version, then rename the directory it lives in to something different, then install the other version. 2) Yes, the svn plugin works just fine. It is used with the AmigaOS OS4 quite a lot, and sourceforge etc. You would be better off to use the dedicated forums where your problems can be fully investigated. Simon

While I cannot do anything about the Calculator, the Construct Editor window was ignoring the custom screen set in the preferences. Many thanks for the report, it is fixed for the next version. One note about running external applications, if you want them to use the CodeBench screen by default, enable the "Make default pubscreen when active" option in the Preferences/Display page. http://codebench.co.uk/docs/other.html#displaySimon

I can't download the archive you posted as it needs some crappy download manager, which I'm not installing.
As regards the default.kbd file, you will have to install it manually from the distribution archive. I have no idea why it was not installed on your system.

Once you download it and install it, all will become clear regarding the "Community Account".
It was a few new features that were insufficiently tested and were removed prior to release.

You really are not going to make that much difference, even by cutting down the startup scripts to a bare minimum. The difference will only be a few seconds at best.

OK, this constant logging in is becoming a royal PITA. Looking at the cookie cache, it appears the "xoops_session" cookie times out after 15 minutes, so this would probably explain it. Is there any way to extend the TTL of that?
I looked through the site preferences, but couldn't see anything.
