Not too shy to talk

Hi,

Can someone tell me how to install AmiSSL? When I try yo run the installer it says that an instance is already running and quits.

How do I close the running AmiSSL?

Thanks for any help.

I'm going to guess that Mr. Wolf gets its name from a game we used to play as kids called "What's the time, Mr. Wolf?"

I replaced the battery. Machine powered up but stuck on the boot splashscreen (Amiga X5000). Reset and it booted finally.

Will see how it goes...

Well this is weird.

I unplugged everything and removed the case side panel to take a look at the motherboard.

I wanted to see what the LEDs were doing, so I plugged just the power in and pushed the button.

And it powered up.

So i switched it off, plugged everything back and tried again.

But no, still won't power.

I used to enjoy Napalm on my A1200, never managed to get it to run on my X5000. I will have to try the patch.

I could never get my base to update, had to use the cheat code. ;)

X5000 not powering up (Solved)
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Hi all,

I don't get to use my X5000 much these days, and I went to switch it on today but wouldn't power up. I have 1 green and 1 red LED on the motherboard (which, iirc, is usual). When I power on, everything comes on for less than a second and then dies.

Any suggestions? Maybe power supply?

Not sure if it is a coincidence or not, but now all three computers in this room have suffered power problems - both my Windows laptop and work laptop have had swollen batteries in the last month.

Ah, turns out I had an incomplete installation. :(

@jabirulo

Yes, that is the version that I have, and that seems to be the version where spoofing, at least from the front end, has been removed.

Under Settings --> Spoof as, I only have 2 options, Odyssey Web Browser and Default Settings. Previous versions have a series of different spoorfing options here.

Also, when I go to URL Settings and try to select a Spoof As setting for a specific site, the only option is Odyssey Web Browser.

Maybe its just me, but in the latest version, spoofing has been removed?

@Raziel

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been using my X5000 in a while. Booted it a few times this week, but didn't get a single lockup.

I *sometimes* get a boot failure with my X5000 and RX560. Locks up on the OS 4.1 splash screen (Uboot loads), and requires a reboot. Didn't used to get it with my former 7850HD card, but I'm not sure if it is hardware related or down to 4.1 FE Update 2.

@alfkil

The X5000 can only boot from the motherboard SATA, so if your secondary HD is attached to e.g. a SATA card, it won't boot.

You might need to connect one drive to one of the motherboard SATA connectors, and the other drive to the other (which I'm guessing would mean unplugging your optical drive).

If both of your HDDs are connected to the onboard SATA, you might need to check boot priorities. There is also a UBoot setting that is supposed to ensure that the selected partition boots all the way through - I can't recall what it is but maybe Niels can (it doesn't work on my X5000).

Not yet, was wondering if anyone else had. Busy week, probably won't be a chance until the weekend, if not Monday.

@walkero

Thanks, but we've already been through all of this with Spectre660. Version 2.4 won't work and we had to downgrade.

No, by "failing" I mean "crashing when you try and play a video with Emotion".

Has anyone tested the updated drivers with their Polaris11 cards on X5000 that previously failed under 2.4?

Been meaning to ask, I'm thinking of changing my script http://os4depot.net/share/video/misc/thumbnailmaker.lha from ArtEffect to Sketchbook, but I couldn't figure out the arexx command to load an image into the clipboard?
