@alkfil

There are also the valgrind working start from sba (surely too big but in case you haven't seen that before):

http://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/ ... e=&topic_id=4091&forum=25

I would like to see debug101 also as a standalone program. the simple user should use this program easily for reporting problems to the developper.

no. I have tried to see this tool debugging unrar. launch the tool and choose unrar and immediately the tool run.

impossible to choose a source data and a destination path, to see if Debug101 debug unrar during his decompress phase.

The problems are reported on the AOS4 bugzilla ???

Your program not work for example:

source and destination can't be added on your program. work only with unrar command.

@alfkil

This is maybe THE most waited tool for AOS4 programmers and betatesters

Thanks a lot for starting this project because It's often too hard to have great output to send to programmer when a problem arrive on a tool (C or assembly).

I really hope that you will have some greatly help from another AOS4 programmers for improving your tool.

I'm myself verry interested to test and use this kind of tool for debugging

Also I have seen you have lots of free time ?? Incredible.

During your free time, could you (It's a thing I ask often because this tool miss me a lot update snoopdos ???

Snoopdos AOS4 not work anymore because something has changed that can't allow snoopdos to show output. Maybe just a compiling time is only needed....

@apache64 + @athurart09

Welcome to both of you

for the screenmodes, AOS4 is configured with some standard screenmode. Depending of your monitor, you could add more resolutions.

for adding resolutions, open sys: devs/monitor. open the radeon tooltype and add more resolutions.

add the resolution at the end of the list (important).

for 16/9 or 16/10 monitor, add +RB at the end of the resolution mode.

cut'n'paste a resolutions line and transform to desired resolutions.

sorry, can't said with AOS4 words because I'm at job

@tonyw

Thanks a lot for informing us that the FAT32 crash (maybe FFS, SFS too), when copying datas on USB medias, and give as result 8+3 filename, has been resolved.

No news for the memguard hit during the copy....

The crash with 8+3 filename as result is finally, resolved, since..... days, weeks and maybe...... months........ ????????

The goal of this special AOS4 feedback thread is for the users to post when problem found look like related to the AOS4 istelf.......

AND

The goal of this special AOS4 feedback thread is also for the AOS4 developpers to inform us if the problems, reported on this AOS4 feedback thread, has been resolved or not by the AOS4 developpers.

That mean normal users could stop looking at the problem and do other things for the amiga than continue to investigate an AOS4 problem allready resolved !!!!!!!!

just need to put the debugger on the AOS4 compatibility program.

just make 68k executable.

68k executable work well on AOS4 direclty.

NTUI will be usable on this basic.

when memguard arrive, the usbstack reset during the copy (with requester who describe error during the copy and the USB media icon diseapeared and reappeared on the workbench) and mathematically corrupt the data copied on the USB medias.

You are probably quite right. However, the fault has been fixed, and it wasn't anything to do with CrossDOS, so there's no point in chasing more evidence.

Do you state, as maybe an AOS4 developper or tester, that the FAT32 destroyed datas who become 8+3 filename has been now complelely resolved ????

Quote:
As for the Memguard "hit", it wasn't a fault, it was only a "failure" return value from an Exec call. What the calling program did with that return value, we don't know. Since no other fault was trapped, it probably took some successful recovery action.

Could you explain more here also ???

I said that because the memguard hit stop the copy on the FAT32 medias and also reset the USB stack and the result is a FAT32 media datas problem or worse a 8+3 filename.

As the 2 problems are surely linked together, I really will be sure that all are resolved. That mean for us just wait another AOS4.1 update

Also a question:

the resolved version of this problem has been tested with FAT32, SFS, JXFS filesystem (as kas1e has been able to reproduce the problem on all filesystems).

Sorry for asking again like that but this problem is really really really dangerous and cause datas loss. I woul dlike to be 200% really sure that all the problems (8+3 filename and memguard hit) has been resolved.

This should fail randomly. Perhaps if ithe machine doesn't lockup I can get something from it. After any such failure, chkdsk E: on a PC usually complains about crosslinked files and stuff. chkdsk can fix it with /f. No need to reformat (so far).

My theory if that if a crosslink happens in a directory entry (or the FAT table?) we get garbage as filenames.

- change something and ready to use the save button on the prefs program
- load Ibrowse and locate a verry heavy internet (with lots of picture, for example)
- load the site.
- jump rapidly to internet program and use the save button.

- Netshutdown restart the connection but as Ibrowse has not finished to receive all the datas:

After you use the save button on internet program.

and now here this window rest forever on the workbench and impossible to quit the internet program. The connection work allways fine and not be resetted.

I don't know why this problem exist now (have seen that 2 weeks ago).

Help appreciated..

Tested with a paid account.

- When launching newscoaster, he ask after an assign for tbimages.

- for example, a fetch or get group (more longer) give temporarly a verry small window. If I try to change the size witht the size gadget on the window, the SAM freeze.

- Write a message and post the message not work. fetch minuts, hours or days after and never seen the post.
