Have a look at newlist on aminet. my favourite dir type command ever.

Sure I've seen it, it got some useful features. But I prefer sf, it does exactly how I like things, but maybe I'm a bit biased

Also add that the user can set their default options in the alias command eg. (when implimented):
Alias sff showfiles LESS NOCOLOURS []

I guess there's more than one way to skin a cat, thanks for the input, I will mention that in the readme.

@Severin

Yep, SETBLACK and SETNORMALBG is with system colors, correct. With ANSI it becomes somewhat broken yes. I'm planning to fix this in next "major" update version 0.990 or possibly 1.000.

However, yes a complete user config ASCII file is planned for version 1.000 to set all colors as the user wishes.
Thanks for the example for the config, I might use that format as it seems easy enough.

Quote:
Showfiles also needs a less method, just listing the results as name only in columns the same as newlist from aminet using the command "nl -qvT0"

Yes, I have been pondering on a LESS option, or ONLYNAMES option, thanks for reminding me.

You want also names in columns and horizontal sorting? Ok, I add that to the TODO-list.

Quote:
It definenately needs a nocolours option to bypass the whole 'ugly display because the user has a different setting to the dev' scenario we have now.

True, so a NOCOLORS and NOFORMATTING then, thanks.

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions

However, what pen colors do you use for the background and foreground in ANSI-mode? Black (0) for bg and white (7) for fg, or?

ShowFiles (sf) DIR command updated to 0.982.

Changes in 0.982:
- Fixed missing command (BARE) in the Template output and manual, it was in HELP and readme though.
- Fixed so the Template is alphabetically sorted.
- Fixed more contrast to the arrow (->) in links, color changed to black.
- Fixed missing REALDATES and DATEFIRST in features in readme.

@thread

Have somebody or could someone try this latest version 0.981 on an OS version earlier than OS4.1 FE?

Not sure if this works now on say OS4.1 Update 6, or on Update 1..

Or how about in 4.0 if someone still has it installed, instant crash or??

Thanks!

@Raziel

Glad to hear that

I kind of circumvented the bug by redrawing the whole background after activating the double buffered display.

For some reason, on your system (maybe the gfx-card), seems the background doesn't get copied to buffer the first time...

Anyway, good that it works now, thank you very much for letting me know

Here's my results with version 1.30,

1.> boingcube -benchmark -gofullscreen

Result: 3026.8817204301 FPS (rendering frame-rate) [higher is better]

1.> boingcube -benchmark -noaccgfx -noaccbuffer

*** BoingCube benchmark ***
Name: -benchmark10 (Counts iterations per ten seconds.)
Version: 1.30 (20151219)
Mode: Windowed NON-vsynced

Result: 678.87667887668 FPS (rendering frame-rate) [higher is better]

With 1.20 I got frame rate: 54, rendering frame rate: 624

The last one with -noaccgfx -noaccbuffer options is like the previous versions with "only" software graphics. Now hardware acc. graphics is used by default.

I've downloaded the vice-2.4.tar.gz tarball under Source distributions from the VICE site

After several hours of building the Amiga versions on my Sam the build failed with an error in an header file.

Not sure really, if I was building the right source or in the right way, to be honest...

So, no OS4depot upload from me this weekend sorry :S
