@joerg
Does the current 'limitation' in partition width still apply? I have 2 1TB HDDs and 20 or so partitions...

Good for you mate. Now maybe we can get some work out of you.
What do you exactly mean with 'work'? I'm a user mostly and have almost no skill at programming, except with ARexx. And I'm lazy. Bye, TMTisfree

@Curty
A small 'coucou' from AWeb! After reconnecting the 2 HDDs and tweaking UBoot a bit, the A1 boots OS4 normally! Normally? Noooo!! It boots so fast that I do not see it booting (WindowsXP since more than 6 monthes, you know what I mean...)!
UBoot says I'm flying at 1.267GHz!
Arrrgh, what a wonderfull day, it's Chrismas in june!
Bye, TMTisFree, now installing OS4 Final

Woww, this is working! I set the multiplier at x2 but nothing on the screen. I then recheck all: I forgot to connect the VGA cable! When connected, UBoot shows up normally.
Thank you very much for your advice! I am rebuilding the system right now and will do a "coucou" from the A1 when ready. Again, thank you so much!

Yes I have a ton of serial cables, but as said before, I'm lazy. The PSU voltages were tested before rebuilding the A1. I just bought a PCI post code analyser to find what's the problem with the A1 MB (if any). Bye, TMTisFree

I was without my A1 from 8th August2005 to 25th March 2007. The only reason I know that is from my D-Net history.
Woow, quite a long time! Bye, TMTisFree

Try dropping the speed of the cpu. I had to set mine quite low to start with (about 266mhz before my A1 kicked in) Have you made sure that the voltage dipswitches on the motherboard are set to all off? I.E. the lowest setting possible 1.34Volts.
How you do that (dropping speed)? I assume with the DIP switch on the CPU module? Have you a table with DIP settings and speed values? DIP switches on the MB are all set to OFF. edit: english grammar Bye, TMTisFree

Battery is new and yes I tried resetting both the battery and the Radeon.
ACube suggested me to check the serial output, but I do not currently have a null modem cable. Will try to find one tomorrow.

Arrrgh, it seems the CPU module is DOA. No UBoot display at all. Infos sent to ACube, waiting for instructions.
I moved home in november 2006 and discover the CPU module was destroyed by carrier one week before AOS4 Final was released, so half a year without A1.

@All
Just received my module today. Will rebuild the system very soon.
As I have not followed forums about AOS4 final and my system is still update4, my question is: is Final so different from Update4 to justify reinstalling it (I'm lazy and update4 is just good to me)?

Hmm it is time because my CPU module got trashed (moving home) just before OS4 Final release last year. But even if I will repair it, I will buy a new CPU module clocked at higher speed in case...

I have removed everything except the CPU module while testing the serial output which outputs nothing. I'm preparing to send the A1 MB to AmigaCenter together with my dead A2000 MB.

Yes, this is what I'm planning to do. I still have to test my A2000 which had pb (dead?) last time I check. So I will send only one packet. Luckily, my A4000T runs without trouble.

Hi,
You can add me on your list. After 5 monthes in a box (I moved home), switching on the A1 gives a black screen: no serial output, battery is good, dust cleaned, etc. Nothing.
I'm not sure what to do now.
