Just can't stay away

Hi Alfkil, I just installed your last Qt release and try it a little on my X1000 dual GFX setup (HD6670 and 9250).
1) at first try, on my HD6670 the display lagged a lot.
Same symptom than for NetSurf, with SysMon I showed that video memory was allocated on the 2 video cards. By removing my 9250, the speed was really good. I could'nt imagine that it was so speed !
2) Tried EasyPaint, created a little paint and "Save as" and "Cancel". 2 times on 3 try, my OS freezes.
Nevertheless, it's very nice and fast.
I was searching for a MS Paint clone and JuffEd with syntax coloration is a very nice fast editor (like Scribble on MorphOS)
Little donation sent (again) for your fantastic works !

[SOLVED] Qt 4.7.0 0.9.0 : Problem of unresolved symbols

Bonjour, I have downloaded and installed the last Qt 4.7.0 0.9.0 release from http://sourceforge.net/projects/qtamigaosnative/But I don't succeed to start a sample program. For example, for bin/qtdemo, I obtain a requester saying "Unable to resolve symbol '_Z10qt_dprintfPKc'" and for demos/affine, I obtain "Unable to resolve symbol '_ZNK7QWidget8rastportEv'" Before to install I had a previous version of Qt that I have removed from User-Startup and deleted the drawer. Is somebody knows how to resolve this, problem ? Thanks by advance

yes it's true that it was not noticeable without to have DEBUG active, hopefully that you use DEBUG everytime !
Even, me, who start a hundreds of time this program, I never notice it before that you found the bug.
Thank you a lot Kas1e, too to have learned me how to use basically MemGuard.
I will have to remember to launch it every time before to release some stuff.

Problem reproduced by using "DEBUGLEVEL 5" + Memguard + Sashimi.
Resolved (at least on my system) by replacing AllocVecTags / FreeVec by AllocMem / FreeMem.
Kas1e, I sent you by mail a fixed (I hope) version, could you test it, please ?
Thank you.

All these problems just by starting FlipPaper... wouah!
I have to look at AllocVecTags if I understand well.
Last thing, to reproduce it, if I
1) boot with setenv os4_commandline "DEBUGLEVEL 5"
2) launch Sashimi
3) launch Memguard without argument
is the behaviour will be the same ?
Or have I to "DEBUGLEVEL 5 SERIAL" and plug a serial wire ?
Many thanks.
edit : see your last post. Thank you, will do it :)

OK, I have understood,
1) Is it the same behaviour if you drag the picture in the window instead to use "Add picture" ?
2) During the big freeze, is the thumbnail of the picture displayed ?
3) Is the same problem with "Set as wallpaper" button
4) Is FastView load quickly the same picture ?
5) Do you have a non beta test system to test ?
Thank you for your replies and for your help finding the problem

Kasle : You spoke me about 10-15 seconds freeze between pictures.
For me "Test" button, auto-swap or WBPattern take the same time to display some big pictures.

Thank you for your confirmation. I don't know what happen on this other system...
For the auto-start at each boot, yes, it is possible.
In the Auto tab, you have a "User-Startup ?" button.
Hit it and reply "Yes". Your User-Startup will be opened with the correct command put in Clipboard.
Just "Edit / Paste" in Notepad menu.
A block of command will be pasted with the correct drawer, nothing to modify.
Personally I have it in the beginning of my User-Startup, no problem.
Thanks to say me if it's OK for you.
The new version corrects some bugs, allows multi-selection to mass-change layout. Others could confirm that no problem during switch of pictures ? Thanks

People who effectively uses FlipPaper,
could you say me if you encounters some slowdowns using FlipPaper when changing backdrops ?
It seems that the last version fixed doesn't work for Kas1e, around 10 seconds to change a backdrop.
Of course, for me no slowdown...
Thank for your reply zzd10h

I'm not an artist but tried your tuner.
Nice, make me think some iPad music programs like GarageBand
Carmilla is the best ! Could be cool to have a full guitar neck playable with mouse button pressed (no need to click each time). But as I said, just for fun, I'm not a musician.
And, maybe that it will be nice to.put all files in a single drawer, better for decompression.
To conclude, it's fun to play with it.

Ah OK, at startup FlipPaper 1) scan for previous settings files in ENVARC:FlipPaper* 2) scan for the existence of message port FlipPaper_Auto (external process) to see if started or not 3) and finally open the GUI
When you put DEBUG, do you see a loop ? Thanks
Is somebody else encounters these slowdown ?

Therefore, it slowdowns even if you do nothing except the fact to open FlipPaper ?
What does it means "till flippaper will not loads". Slowndow occurs with or without GUI displayed ?
Sorry for all these questions but I made these tests (open FlipPaper) several times...
Are the same slowdown with FastView ?
Could you try to uncomment the DEBUG tooltype and to send me the log by mail ?
Thank you.

Thanks for test Kas1e.
1) Is these slowdown appears too with FastView if you load the picture and that you push "Set as wallpaper" in "Option" tab ?
2) How can I reproduce these slowndowns ? Pictures from which resolution ?
On my system, I can change wallpapers every minute without problem...
Gfx are from TommySammy, yes, nice !
Thank you.

If you speak about Layout for Wallpaper, there are "Scaled" by default, "Centered" and "Tiled"
It was that the question ?

Tempario :
True, it's a standard "feature" under MorphOS.
When I will release it (certainly this evening), if it failed on your SAM thank to keep me informed.
On my Amiga, no problem of course.
