Re: Picture viewer written using Hollywood?

@ChrisH

AmigaScrapbook was made with Hollywood, and kind of sounds like what you are talking about.

CollageMaker (from OS4 Depot) Available Now for Windows
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

If anyone was wondering how well Hollywood is able to compile executables for Windows, you may find this interesting.

CollageMaker (from OS4 Depot) is now available for the PC, and is available as Shareware through CNet (http://download.cnet.com/Grid-Collage ... 000-12511_4-10915539.html). This is a good example of how Hollywood can compile the same scripts into executables in Windows format (as well as others).

The Windows version looks identical to the OS4 version (though the button font is not as sharp). One benefit to the Windows version is that with more powerful machines available, working with a bunch of high-resolution pictures can be a lot faster. As far as the program itself is concerned, the only difference between the OS4 and Windows versions is that the Amiga version is freeware and the PC version is shareware ($5 registration).

Any suggestions for the Amiga or PC version are welcome.

@orgin

It works in the latest binaries. Thanks for the link.

Taking your suggestion about adding a line to contextmenus.cfg to get Filer to open with a path to the active Workbench window, I noticed that Filer has a problem starting through CLI at a specified path if that path is enclosed in quotation marks (which ContextMenus does automatically when %d is used).

Bug report:
The "Clear Selection" command does not seem to work, either through the menu or with the hotkey.

The opening of a Workbench window at the path currently displayed in the Filer window can be accomplished with a user button and the following command:
WBRun "{s}"

It would be really handy to be able to switch between Workbench and Filer as you suggest. I'm sure this is on orgin's long list of to-do's.

I would prefer that a newly entered drawer always start at the top.
However, if there are enough people who want it otherwise, maybe an option in the preferences could be added.

Edit: It's a pity that the docky system has two major flaws, 1. it's the dockies that dictate the dock size and not the other way around. 2. You can't freely position dockies inside a docky. Without these major flaws it would have been easier to set up a nice looking dock with your winbar docky to the left, a few program start icons and then add stuff like a clock, cpu meter etc to the right all using the same height and the clock and cpu meter would stay fixed at the far right without moving about when the winbar docky changed width.

I get around that problem by putting the window bar docky in its own dock---using a borderless, transparent dock so that it doesn't really look like a separate dock.

If you delete the default preferences (winbar-docky.xml), the crash at reboot doesn't occur?

No, its not quite that simple. The crash seems to occur only when the "Auto-adjust size" is set for "Width only" or "Yes" ("No" and "Height only" work fine). The "winbar-docky.xml" file needs to be deleted if one of those problem settings were saved to as default.

@orgin

I'm having the same stability problems here after rebooting. Though for me I can get rid of the problems if I delete the config information (winbar-docky.xml) from ENVARC:. However, the crashes return after saving the configuration (not just in the winbardocky but in AmiDock itself).

I get an error when I attempt to export the created subdock. The only message in the error window is: "Unknown error!"
(And no file is saved.)

Thanks for the new version 50.5; and thanks to Mason for all of the new images (and icons).

Has anyone had success importing Mason's subdock settings? When I try, I get an error message saying: "Unable to import subdock. File may be damaged."

@orgin

I noticed that if one drags and drops an icon onto the Filer window, the path of that icon is printed in an IconX output window.

I assume the plan is to have Filer change to that path, which would be nice. But would it also be possible to have the dragged file copied (or moved) to the path currently displayed in Filer if a certain qualifier key is depressed?

@tommo1975

You can also change icons using DefIcons. Just double-click the file type, let the icon window appear, drag the new icon over the image of the original icon (in the information window), and save.

I tried the new theme on OWB and straight away changed back to the smaller buttons.

The size of the images in the new theme (OS4) are the same as the old theme (AISS), namely, 24x24.

The Davide Calaminici images are larger; but I don't think anyone is talking about those. The larger ICONS (not toolbar images) are part of a new set that Mason is working on, and hopefully will soon have completed.
