Re: Attempt to scam Amiga user.

Curiously, they are also trying to scam Linux users. I am not sure which Linux user will fall for something like that, I would never in my right mind download something from unknown source.

The first tier of "helpdesk" was almost screaming at the Amiga hero when he "couldn't" find the CTRL key on the most bottom left row, even my wife was laughing at that, while looking at the A4K keybard at my desk. Pure gem!

@kas1e

Had to go over again, didn't take notes :)

- POC by Red Devils guru but can continue without sound. It will eventually freeze and had to reset. I just realized it is not WarpUp.
- Unclume CdBS -- Does nothing
- DSoaB CdBS -- This one. It asks for AHI audio mode, but nothing works. Demo plays great, just no sound.
- resetkani AGS -- Works, no audio, maybe b/c it is an invitiation?
- Meademo IV 2 by Artwork -- Works w/audio
- Association -- Works no audio, hangs on exit (full screen)
- Kioea by Madwizards -- Works great w/audio
- Greuh!Zillement beta -- Does nothing
- 212 by Madwizards -- Works w/audio, had to reset, didn't read readme how to exit, if exists.
- Sulaco by Encore -- Works great w/audio

It looks like Unclume CdBS did something earlier to my audio because now some of the above were working fine after I started from scratch. I'll keep low expectations in the future since you mentioned if demo is using chips directly, it will not work. Thanks!

Let's kick TechnoballZ off! I vaguely remember this game on my classic system, definitely played it before. Just not sure what is going on with those space ships after 5th level. It was insta-kill and game over with 3 lives left...

i followed the link kas1e provided above (http://aminet.net/search?readme=warp3D) and tried 7-8 demos. About 5 of them worked but all of them without sound. Is this something expected or I am missing something? On one of them I was able to choose which AHI setting I wanted and tried all possible comibnations and nothing, which is a shame, some of them are really good looking demos.

Same here, using DiskImageGUI to mount ISO images b/c I removed my CD/DVD drive. Can you search for DiskImageGUI on your DH0:, maybe you moved it? Or you skipped the program during the AOS installation?

Here is the Happy Halloween update, numero uno baby!

Tough to beat the leader since the game is ending at the certain point and it appears that every destroyed group will produce the same item, so I was aiming for the 1000's drops.

Thanks @AmigaOldskooler!

Your summaries are great and helps tracking all those projects, games and events. You definitely should merge two blogs under one, and hopefully would be able to preserve old blog posts as well. Kudos to you for doing this!

@alfkil

lol, that was funny!

As vagappc suggested, there should be a link withing browser for option to donate which will never expire, maybe in the About window, on top of it so it is not missed. All info and credits below. This might ensure continuous work on the browser and funding. Maybe even a nag popup once in a blue moon asking for donation? Just my two cents...

@Mlehto

I donated few days ago to the developed of Cinnamon Writer and he responded that new version is in progress. He did offer me to test it out, but for OSX. I've replied back to him and asked about the AOS version: will there be new version for Amiga, and awaiting his response, I'll confirm back with his reply.

While I work daily in excel, I despise it, pretty much like any ms product, it's bloated garbage with horrible GUI and for my personal use, my go to program is Calc. Only thing that bothers me is a flat icons they are using, inspired by ms' excel. Luckily that can be changed.

I would think that LibreOffice would be faster than TimberWolf. Don't forget that modern-ish browsers are resource hungry and will grab as much as they can on the slower system. Writer and Calc would be working just fine, pretty sure of it since they run just fine on my Linux Lite notebook Acer Aspire D150.

Funny thing that you mentioned Calligra, I was just looking into it couple of days ago, but that can't be ported since it is made by KDE team which means it probably using their KDE packages and libs (as you mentioned as well).

Anyway, I completely missed to ask Trevor during the AmiWest on the status of LibreOffice... Well, there is always another year :)

@Rob

Honestly, anything will work for me and I would appreciate more Amiga native stuff if this is possible. I like how Cinnamon and Ignition feel, and find working with them is a pleasant experience (minus crashes). I wish I can help with any of the projects but since I am not a coder, I can donate monies to what I like here and there and just patiently wait for new release or new project. Like everyone else, we all wait for next AmiWest (or any other gathering) to get updates and news and it feels like time has stopped for many great projects. Why I suggested those LibreOffice components was b/c those felt more complete comparing to the native stuff, but if development is abandoned, than I can work with what we have.

I still have hopes for LibreOffice, even if it is an older version and one time port. I speak for myself, and I don't think we need all components from the LibreOffice package and Writer and Calc will do, maybe Impress as well. At current state, there is no satisfying native word utility on the AOS4 and LibreOffice Writer (one time port) could cover this spot, for some time. Cinnamon writer is good for what it is, but unstable while anything more complex is not possible with it. Ignition is also good and I start using it a lot lately, and found out how much it is actually missing comparing it to LibreOffice Calc. Not sure if this is something I am not able to figure out how to use in Ignition, but simple stuff like merging cells, full color palette for coloring cells (instead of 8 colors), proper text aligning and more. I don't want to ramble much more, but any incarnation of couple of programs from the LibreOffice would be great and comparing to the TimberWolf, it would not need constant update like the browser need.

Is Doom3 released on the HunoPPC's web portal? I've seen version there but did not get it yet since I am waiting for the final one.
