Re: Flare enough

@pseudaxos

The minimum resolution should be 640 by 480, so that change gives NOT a 156 % speed increase (other things need doing than minding the bus), but is probably still substantial.

See AutoDocs/dos - it is ten seconds.

AmigaAMP3 has the wrong version number as of the upload 2018-12-02. The correct is 3.23, AmigaAMP 3.23 (29.11.18) in the executable.

@broadblues

Then I'm guessing the compositing limit is 1920 wide in my case (newshell command doesn't seem to do this, or I do not know about it, so it's set manually).

Ah, I'm silly. Without Javascript it breaks up.

YouTube links are not video files, try it with let's say a wikimedia link that is an actual video file. Or even audio.

I do not know whether HTTPS is supposed to work, but that's what I found: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia ... Video_%28Narrated%29.webm

I found out it is incorrect. But I noticed two MUI applications didn't allow a wide window, AmigaShell did. When the shell window was overwide, moving it went super sluggish. That is with hardware compositing and about 90 MB VRAM available.

Window width > screen width ?

Is it correct that I may not have a window that is wider than the screen? If I drag a window to the left and out, I can't extend it to the right hand side. It didn't matter whether I activate easy dragging outside the screen in "GUI" or press shift to do it.

@kas1e It *would* make this thread actually readable
if you halved the pix width in the first post,
getting rid of the horizontal scroll bar that is
hidden for the most part.
Maybe it is fine for 1920 screen.

This is just the kind of thing that's better to share. Well, I would. Very little use but interesting results.

Ok, so for native stuff it's more "when" instead of "what".

Does SDL2 assume Unicode is supported by the host system?

Bintools 'mv' and 'rm' works.

To be clear, is PW 53.4 not doing correctly?

@Capehill

IF I understand correctly and "sdl2" is long-term and no sdl3 is around the corner, it would make sense to omit the major "2".

@saimo

The descriptions I came across of the 14-bit native playback made at least me think that it was an exclusive mode: I didn't expect the usual 4 channel layout to apply. But this suggests something else, and does make more sense, since Amiga volume control is per hardware channel.

I used to have such a drive. I don't remember exactly but it did write something onto BD-R media, but there was error(s).

Bottom link describes Amigas as a games console. Maybe somebody was exposed to mainly the CD32 but I'm thinking it's just reappropriating terminology.

@magnetic

I wonder if you can download https://curl.haxx.se/ca/cacert.pem because plain http does not work. If that works, put it in the directory with Odyssey but with the name curl-ca-bundle.crt

Should that not help I do not know what the difference is... maybe a different version of Odyssey?
