Hum, can't Mpegalib be fixed? It's GPL. Stephan R. Should have the sources. Ok some time is needed but it's just a fix and shouldn't be too difficult to find.
It remains to know "who" of course.

@samo79
There is something more interesting than having WarpOS again. The guy codes in ASM. I would like to see him work on optimising what we already have: Amicygnix, Odyssey, Mplayer, DVplayer, Nova...

Since several weeks (months?), when doing a search from the browser opens the OS4depot page but with no result (no search is performed)

Thanks for this thread. I don't think I read it before but K-L told me about it.
I am surprised to see this huge list of supported formats.

I knew Crisot would reply to you by himself. Now done

What were the "interesting explanations?"

Nothing in details. Just explaining that Nova does not look like W3D. It's a different beast and quite a nice one.
It will need some work from developers.

@Srtest

Ok but when you say "you can", it will not be Huno for sure.

@All

Note the new release of FTPd (on OS4depot) by Abalaban. This version works a lot better than the previous release. It allows to use another computer to connect to a FTP area on an OS4 machine.

what was demo'd? And what did Huno & Crisot say? I'd be interested to hear their take.

Huno thinks:
It's a great step forward and he is interested to work with Nova. The only problem he sees is that there is a big learning curve as Nova API is completely different than W3D one.
He completely understands we have to leave the old games behind as porting them from W3D to Nova is a so big effort that it's a non-sense.
Nova is the future, no doubt on that.

Crisot is not here yet. The night was short you know
We'll give his answer later.

Only a few photos for now: http://pferrucci.perso.sfr.fr/Amigateries/

New stuff from the French guys

Hi there,

We are at the Amigateries local Amiga show, held in Villers-les-pots, France.

So far we had demos of :

* X-Dock to come bundled with A-Eon's Enhancer Pack
* Snes9X playable even on the Sam440. A brand new complete world of games now comes to AmigaOS 4.1 ! (more than 150 games) with AltiVec support
* New version of Final Burn Alpha with new display options/filter options (openGL filter available) and new optimizations (AltiVec)
* Warp3D NOVA demoed (what is not under NDA was demoed) with very interesting explanations from Huno and Crisot regarding what is the difference between Warp3D and Nova

Great event as usual!

BTW, some bug in DirMeUp (Glames) and ftpd (Alex) will be soon fixed.

Crisot will show us Odyssey's advancement (his Dungeon Crawler game).

@utri007

I don't know for Quake but I use AmiVNC regularly and I can connect on the Sam460 from the PC and yes I have OS4FE installed.
Maybe you can try to boot the FE CD and set your network from there and test or you can install on a different partition and test from there. You need to have some skills doing this. Don't mess with your system.

@Chris

#3433 here

Why can't we select the text when this text is a link?
As an example on this website, I cannot select the string "User profile" on the menu on the left.
I would like to control how things go, not let the program dictate what I can copy or not.

Also, right now if I left click on no text (i.e on a blank area), I can move the page up or down.
I suggest to remove this from the left click. I can move the page using the middle click. It's enough IMO.
Right now, I used left click to move the page around. Sometimes it worked (I clicked on nothing), sometimes it didn't (the mouse pointer was on a text area). It's error prone and annoying.

Could you make the About window a bit more interesting?
There could be clickable links to the website, Mantis and the Amiga nightly builds.

Or even better for the updates, can they be downloaded automatically?

BTW the favicon of the search engine never displayed in Netsurf. I have a blank square. The button works when I click on it, the menu appears with all search engines but there is no image in the button.

Maybe with compositing it could be possible to do a small zoom in to reach 800x600 without losing too much image quality.

Agreed, and if the world around us is abandonning PPC, how coud we stay up-to-date with the very little amount of users/developers we have?
This will become soon a crucial question.

But it belongs to another thread. Let's concentrate on Odyssey progress right now.

@BSzili

Yes of course.
It's still interesting to see the dependencies to build the Rust compiler are not that high https://github.com/rust-lang/rust
The following should be considered though: https://metajack.im/2013/12/11/building-rust-code--current-issues/
