Re: Updates of FastView, SysMon, FastCompress and NetDock

Not too shy to talk

@zzd10h
many thanks for implamenting this feature, from your
description it seems you've got my needs, only just
one other thing, it's very useful the possibility to
indicate the opening window size, this way you can for
example set a quarter screen size, so you can open 4
instances without the need to resize them, this speed up
the picture choices workflow very much.

I would like to have a possibility to start FastView
from command line with only one image and the size
of the window in wich the program will show the image
scaled if needed.
With this possibility I can use FastView in the context menu
of images so I can open several of them in separate windows
to have the possibility to view one next to the other, it's
useful when you have many similar pictures and you must choose
which one to use for example to put in a web page, or which one to print.
I hope I was clear in my request :)

Re: AACU Challenge - QScoreBoard

Not too shy to talk

@zzd10h
I found an operation sequence than permit with my setup
to have Qt browser working well.
First of all I downloaded the minimal version from
sourceforge, but this isn't the point, to have the browsers
working I have to do:

1) boot the machine
2) start a Qt browser
3) hit the kill button from the Reaper when it appear
4) launch smtube
5) quit smtube

from now I can launch all the Qt browser, even many instance
and I have no more visit from the GrimReaper, I can even
restart smtube and watch some videos while surfing the net.
At the moment I am writing this post with QtWeb, earing
a video with smtube and I have 3 instances of ISB with
some heavy pages loaded

@zzd10h
unfortunately it was one of the luky situation,
I extracted ISB and QtWeb in Ram then executed both,
since tey worked I copyied both in a SFS partition,
now I have the old problem, even if i reextract in Ram
they crash before creating the home directory in Qt,
maybe I must download Qt from Sourceforge then retry

P.S. downloading now

@Thematic
the problem with moderm PCI card it's that generally
the card it's behind a PCI to PCI-E bus and U-Boot
doesn't initialize this type on the 66 MHZ bus,
maybe on the first 33 MHZ one, this it's what
I have understood.
But for a right answer I think we need Hans or
someone else with the right info

Not a bug but a pity the links to go directly to a page after the title are gone from the thread list
this thing it's quite annoing.
I can't remember before, but there isn't a "quote"
button so to quote Severin's post I hat to put manually
the tags for quoting

For boot partition IMHO the best it's SFS,
for the other partition if you need support for
files >2G (file size, not partition size) I suggest
SFS\2 if you doesn't need big file support maybe use SFS

What do you mean with "natively"?
For NTFS once installed the 68k filesystem from Aminet,
OS4.1u6 use it automatically

The IP address of your SAM it's the first one i.e. Local host address,
take note that if you use DHCP this address may change even
if you doesn't switch off/on or reboot your SAM, so once you
started the connection between your Amigas the connection
can broke anytime

Me too, with samba, ftp and others protocols,
for the OP question, it's simple if your SAM has
fixed IP address, to do that yoy have two ways,
one is set the IP on your SAM, the second it's
give a fixed IP to the SAM from the router based
upon MAC address, this way on your VVA configuration
the IP it's always the same

I think that in HOST you must put the IP address of your
SAM

More on juffed
the problem with the "recent files" doesn't appear with the native menus
or if there are some files in the "recent menu" I also have ISI error exiting
juffed, let me know if I may post the stack trace or others information
about DSI and ISI
A little update on the "Recent files" problem, when blocked after few minutes
the program unlock and continue to work

Re: Beta testing

I am making some test with the beta 2, so far my findings:
1) the tooltip problem it's still present, I want remember that if you move
slowly the mouse so une tooltip close before the new one opens it's ok,
if you move the mouse fast and the new one it's bigger than the old one
the new one it's only partially displayed.
2) juffed at start display the massage: "QtLockedFile::lock(): fcntl: Function not implemented"
then a DSI recoverable error (but not every time), triyng to save a file
opening the "File" menu going down towards "Save as" when I pass
over Recent files I get "Couldn't open popup window!" message and
juffed stop working with the "File" menu opened. All without native menus
scout says juffed is waiting semaphore

more to come

Re: Beta testing

What to say, I am just impressed, all it's working
almost well and the speed it's very acceptable.
Now some little glitches:
the problem with the tooltips (see samos' post) seems
happening only if you move the mouse fast and one
tooltip it's still open when a new one comes in, in this
case if the first one it's shorter than the second one,
only the part for the first lenght it's correctly displayed,
the rest doesn't contain text and it's not with the yellow
background.
Now the browser, if I use the native fonts I get many
font not found message on the console, and many text
it's displayed with ????, maybe it's only a setup problem,
with the native menu the bookmarks
are not displayed correctly, only the first 2 items are
displayed ie. "show all bookmarks" and "add bookmark".

P.S. this post it's with Qt browser
