@walkero
Any update here? Looks like we still are unable to browse the images DB by category. Direct links still work fine, though.

@NinjaCyborg
I have exactly the same issue with the same card in my A1222. The issue seems to be with the Radeon HD driver. I have been unable to get video out of its HDMI port, although VGA and DVI work just fine.

I'd be very curious to know how many get sold with this batch, and how quickly they sell out. I'm wondering what the demand looks like with the A1222 still hovering as possibly available in the immediate future.

Folks, I'm looking for someone who has actually attempted to install FreeBSD on their X5000 system, and who can help me develop a simple, step-by-step install guide for those who haven't done a FreeBSD install on a non-x86/64 machine before. Basically I'd like to put something together rather more detailed than what already exists on the FreeBSD wiki. -- eliyahu

@Templario Yep. In fact I ordered all available issues of Amiga NG (and Amiga User, for that matter) some time ago. Some issues arrived, some haven't yet. I suspect COVID and generally higher postal volume this month is to blame. At least I hope so. -- eliyahu

Folks, In addition to the venerable Amiga Future and the Poland-based Amiga User, it looks like English-speakers can add another Amiga print magazine to their subscription lists: Amiga Addict. I'm not familiar with the publishers -- they're in the UK -- but Issue #1 is scheduled for December and their taking pre-orders now: https://www.simulant.uk/shop/amiga-addict-magazinehttp://www.amiga-addict.com/They're also on Discord and Twitter, so check them out. I've already purchased a subscription; hopefully others will give the new magazine a try. -- eliyahu

@nbache Quote: Is it still the same on z/OS as it was on MVS? ISPF has grown by leaps and bounds, but the editor has, thankfully, changed very little conceptually. But there are loads more useful macros included these days and support for more modern languages. If you're feeling nostalgic, you can look over the current ISPF documentation ( link). -- eliyahu

@trixie Quote: I don't know what the actual state of Struct is. Mark is currently taking a break from the Amiga because he felt burnt out from programming. That's a shame on many, many levels. Mark is a terrific guy, and an excellent developer. Workbench Explorer was a massive bit of work, and I was *really* looking forward to Struct since his demo at DevCon 2019. I'm a bit of a text editor nut, and although nothing could possibly ever beat the ISPF editor on z/OS, I do love the Amiga options. And Struct looked like something I'd use in lieu of CodeBench's editor -- which is also nice. Anyway -- I hope to see Mark return to the scene one day. Maybe if things start moving again? -- eliyahu

@SZAMAN Quote: So why continue this? Maybe it's time for opensource? Open the GitHub / Bitbucket project for ES and forget it. OS4 community will be happy, You will have time to earn "classic" money. Because they've sunk a ton of money and time into the AOS4 software and I'm sure they'd like to earn revenue from it once released, which is both reasonable and fair. The issue in this thread is communication, not ownership or other business decisions. It demonstrates how many can easily understand delays, changes in plans, etc., if only there were regular communications from the various parties, e.g., Hyperion and A-EON, to their customers. That's really all that's needed to keep people around while things work out. That, and the occasional bug fix release. -- eliyahu

@utri007 Quote: this is a hobby, not a general computing platform I quite agree. But if people plan on charging for software and hardware, and act as though they are normal businesses, then they can't just show utter contempt for their customers and not expect a negative reaction. All people want is a blasted update, the occasional screenshot, an indication that things haven't died completely. Sending email after email and being ignored; posts on forums, Facebook, and elsewhere, and being ignored; even whole, in-person meetings of developers and testers ignored! It's enough already. Clearly Hyperion is guilty of this behavior, but they aren't the only ones. And more and more people leave, usually silently, month after month as a result. -- eliyahu

@Daytona675x Quote: Hi mate! That's a different construction site The problem here is not ogles2 but MiniGL4GL4 which unfortunately is nothing but a very dirty hack with the primary goal to give Polaris users who are left without classic Warp3D support until now some last resort to play MiniGL games. If you have Southern Island and therefore native W3D classic support you should stick with the normal minigl libraries. Whoops! Sorry for the confusion. Still, will probably stick with MGL4GL4ES when needed since it seems to allow Aquaria to run. I need to test some other games, too, with it. Quote: The thing with MGL4GL4ES is that it is pretty much just a GL4ES build with a MiniGL interface attached. Unfortunately GL4ES wasn't designed for being used inside a shared library which is why it's unstable as hell if being (ab)used this way. I'd have to make GL4ES fully reentrant first and replace all static and global stuff to make this a real alternative for old minigl. Until this is done (and I really can't say if or when I have time for this) it will have all sorts of issues, one of which is the screen-safer problem you're experiencing.
It's okay for many games which just open one window and without anything else running in parallel, but other than that... Understood. I appreciate the quick reply! -- eliyahu

@Daytona675x A huge thanks for the recent release! My son can happily play Aquaria again on my X5000. So even though I also have Warp3D for Southern Islands, I think we'll be using your solution going forward. One thing I have noticed is tha ScreenBlanker OpenGL modules no longer work as expected. Typically we end up with crashes, or occasionally they'll run for a bit with incorrect color data. Hopefully the following gets formatted correctly:

@pjs
There haven't been any fixes in years, but LiveForIt can talk to his plans going forward. The stability issues are unfortunate since there's a lot of terrific classic Macintosh software that would be nice to use on our systems.

@utri007
Which card did you end up purchasing that works? There are quite a few listed as supported, but it's always nice to see confirmation from someone actually testing it with AOS 4.1FE.

@tekmage Quote: Over the last few years, I've been thinking about creating a datatype to be able to load camera RAW images based on the DCRAW CLI tool on OS4depot. Sadly I lack the skill, and I've not found a sufficiently basic datatype creation tutorial to allow someone with my meger C skills to get it done. This is something for which I'd pay good money. I'm a huge fan of the WarpDT datatype package from @futura and would love to see a WarpRAW package as well. Great idea, tekmage! -- eliyahu
