Schematics Sam 440 and Sam 460ex
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Apart from the boot problem with my 460ex,
I tried to dig up my Sam 440 and use that one again.
However this one does not power up correctly any more
When pushing the button the red lled is flashing for a moment, the white one never lights on

I did not find the schematics of both mobo's
URL?

@tonyw
Thanks for the help with u-boot menu
Will test this.
I tested the battery: it has nearly 4 V on my multimeter
I was able to save the settings
Boot2 to USD DVD and reboot
Same as before
Boot1 as USD and reboot
Still the same

Came to doubt if I was using the correct DVD': I was not

Using the AOS FE amiga one, Sam 460 DVD
No success but the DVD drive reacted, this was not the case with the aos
4.1 update 2 CD-ROM I used previously

Before yesterday I never touched the OS multi boot settings and still was able, to boot from this DVD if I remember well, whereas boot2 was the only one to point to USB not to DVD but to HD
Am I dreaming this up?
What happens if all three options are set to,SATA , will th Sam boot from DVD?

@Spectre660
pci
i get far less info only vendor and type of controller

I guess my HD is broken.
I got the information from my neighbour (PC hardware & SW knowledgeable) that to boot from a cdrom you still need 80 MB on the HD
(He checked connections of the cards & HD)
He also gave a hint for replacing the battery, however since the problemappeared so suddenly with small hop, this wouldbe the cause.

I'll start up my SAM 440 in the mean time
Can anyone remind me of the voltage it needs, seems i have 2 converters 9 V & 14? V that i can plug in

@Spectre660
I guess a 3114
As this is mentioned as boot Device 3 ( see above)
Don't know what the boot 1 Device 3x12 SATA HD stands for

@zzd10h
Just tried that, see above: the cd is not detected and I get the same messages
I the problem occurred when connecting an old keyboard and booting.
Could USB hardware be the cause?

More.info
Using the u-boot "menu" command I was able to the boot-sequence/OS Multiboot Options

I have
Boot device 1 3x12 SATA Hd
Boot Device 2 USB. HD
Boot Device 3 3114 SATA HD

I tried to change Device 2 to USB DVD
It is not clear to me how to save this however. I just reboot, and verifying with menu I see nothing is changed: still USB HD

Boot problem SAM460ex
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Trying to boot, I immediately hear an intermittent beep
The boot halts quiet early with the message

Hard disk not found.
Aos4 FLB
FLB: no SLB found in any of the designated boot sources': returning to U-boot
Press any key to continue
Seems I have access to u-boot's clip there e.g. Help shows me the commands
What can I do?

I also tried to boot from the OS4.1 cd , but it is not detected and I get the same results

@kilaueabart
Are you using the enhancer sw version?
The version coming with Os4.1 1.25;works fine on my sam460ex
Quote:
Both options are listed as "Amiga^[blank],"

On my version there is no "Amiga^[blank]," following the menu tirems
"Save as Postscript" & "Save as Text" Hence i van only save using the menu, but that works.

Of course we need HTML5 & javascript, but odyssey has them both. Maybe some functionalities lacking in html5 , but which exactly, could that be documented?
Could those be added to the present Odyssey source?

Re: YAM and HTML
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

@MichaelMerkel

The URL's i mention are those appearing in Odyssey's URL textin gadget and comparing with yours there is a big difference
yours
file:///RAM%20Disk:T/2-YAMm00000064-p2.htm
mine would be
file:///RAM%20Disk:T/2-YAMm00000064-p2
without the extension appearing
That last file would exist, but i never have a file with an .htm extension generated by YAM

I doubt it is the role of urlopen to create that extension.
Can you check if it pre-exists on your YAM install before calling urlopen?

If not maybe you found some other way for renaming the file?

BTW i had to reset the YAM MIME types htm, html, htms viewers to
appdir:urlopen %s
because clicking on a link in the mail didn't work anymore

My URL prefs are here http://users.online.be/AD/URLprefs.jpg

Re: YAM and HTML
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

@MichaelMerkel

I am using YAM 2.10 dev and wonder if this is the origin of my problem

the URL given to Odyssey to open is something like
file:///Stock:Internet/YAM_2.10/Folders/Incoming/SbfIPQABvDE=.001,R

Odyssey will propose to download it not to open it.

If i try to display the html part of the message i get
file:///RAM%20Disk:T/4-YAMm00000048-p1.1
and odyssey won't open it either. ( That's why i wrote the gui4Cli script
adding a html extension to the html part in t:)

The above result is with appdir:urlopen file:///%s as default viewer.

If i use as before Next %s as default viewer, while having the htm html and htmls MIME viewers set to appdir:urlopen file:///%s
and their extensions respectively to htm html and htmls, Next wiill open the message.

If i delete Next as default viewer (empty field-) nothing happens when trying to display raw msg or html attachmetn

If i add a MIME type now with no extension defined, but still with appdir:urlopen file:///%s as a viewer, nothing happens when trying to display raw msg or html attacchment (this MIME type does not take over the function of the default viewer)

Re: YAM and HTML

Just can't stay away

@MichaelMerkel

I did not succeed.
I guess you start with putting in the MIME prefs "default settings" either urlopen or OdyssayLauncher 2
exactly what?

In the Odyssseylancher2 Readme file it is stated

Quote:

(b) But if you do not have an entry for Odyssey yet, then click on "Add new
client", and enter the following information exactly:

Odyssey APPDIR:OdysseyLauncher2 "*"file:///%s*""

5. Once you have done this for all the 4 tabs, click Save.
(Or you can first click on Test and give it a URL like http://www.google.co.uk )

I guess "file:///%" is only for a local file and justt copying that for http, https and www is wrong?
