AFA_OS is only for OS 3.x 68K as far as I know...

You don't need it in OS4 as OS4 already has the features that AFA_OS is giving...

Exactly right.

@Snuffy

Do you have AfA working at all?

Ok I got it working but the MUI window gadgets aren't looking proper...is there any fix for that?

That's being worked on. For now, I turned off additional buttons in MUI prefs.

There are a couple of other programs that add buttons too that are also being worked on.

Once the buttons are working, I'll add the necessary images to each of the skins.

This utility is like amikit but for real amiga ? does it support gfx card ?

No -- this is just a system patch (and it DOES work on 'real' Amigas).

Also -- without a graphics card, it wouldn't look so nice.

Skinning OS3.x (AfA 4.0 released!)

Bernd has just released the latest AfA beta, which now includes "skinning" -- which replaces the functions performed by Birdie & VisualPrefs.

It also adds icon scaling, which makes 32bit icons more useful on lower resolution screens. Plus, the smaller icons display faster -- good for classic machines.

In addition to what Birdie & VP does, it also replaces the screentitle, scrollbars, containers, and window borders with individual images.

It looks amazing!

I painted 7 skins for the initial release.

Here's another shot of the Simoami theme, which I cloned because it's jahc's favorite OS4 theme.

Added the v4 iconset in OS4 format to the downloads directory (converted by padrino).

According to padrino, they display faster on OS4 machines than the DualPNG versions.

Ken, would you be interested in doing a few Video Toaster icons please?

Probably!

I thought the Video Toaster was limited to native Amiga screenmodes -- would VT users be able to use 32bit icons? (Or were you referring to 256 color icons?)

Ken's Icons' Website

Following up on a post I made yesterday here -- I've uploaded a few more files to the 'Downloads' directory at my website.

There are still more things which need to be archived (and other things that look like they're just GONE) -- wish I was more organized.

Also added a 'Wallpaper' directory & changed the 'Screenshots' link so that it goes to a folder containing the screenshots -- the thumbnail view was too abusive to anyone with a slow connection.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but the icons haven't been available for download for a few weeks.

I had been planning to put them SOMEWHERE (probably AmiKit's site) but have been busy on another project lately (which should be released soon!).

I also figured that everyone who could possibly want them had either downloaded them or used AmiKit.

However, I received an email a couple of days ago asking about them, so I finally spent some time creating a VERY basic website (I plan to do a better site eventually).

There is NOTHING new there at the moment, but all three versions can now be downloaded.

I'll try to add the other things I've painted for the Amiga over the years (there are a few things that were never released too).

I also added a PayPal donation button (something Mikey_C has been telling me to do for years).

@padrino

While that's an interesting idea, it's not really practical.

Both sets are basically completed at this point. Personally, I don't have any plans to paint another set.

However -- a while back, I painted a complete set of my icons with his drawer style (if that makes any sense) -- but that got derailed when Hyperion changed the icon format.

@Mason

Hmmm . . .

Don't recall seeing a "Mason's Icons" drawer to store all these new icons in!

I'd also like to remind people to check Mason's website before making a request -- he's already painted about a bazillion icon sets -- the one you want may already be done!

Just occurred to me that you might not read your PMs here since you've only made a few posts.

So -- "Yes, please send them to me -- I'd like to see if they're faster here too."

(See the PM for my e-mail address)

Okay.

1. What are/where those small icons about I found in the V3_working archive? :)

Previously, I used a different startmenu program that couldn't "scale" icons, so I painted them for use with that.

2. Did you with V4_2 now completely convert (at least) your old icons to dualPNG?

Unfortunately, no. I focused on repainting all the icons in AmiKit.

If I ever get my hands on OS4, then I'll support it too, but it's too frustrating painting for a system I can't use! (plus, they should be in OS4 format rather than DualPNG).

Quote:
Could you consider doing a trashcan icon, that just looks like all drawers, containing a small trashcan-image?

Done.

I combined all three archives, cleaned them up a bit, and added a couple of new icons (including your request).
