Streaming twitch.tv on AmigaOS 4.1
Site Builder
Site Builder

I am working on a nice script that helps you stream videos and channels from twtch.tv on AmigaOS 4, just by using the channel/video URL.

This can also be used from the browser, although the website doesn't render OK in any of our available browsers. Extended usage of Javascript, I guess.

You will be able to select on the fly video quality, or you can use a weighted list with preferred resolution qualities, where first found first served.

Have a look at the following screenshot.

Resized Image

More networks will follow like Mixer, Vimeo and others.

Currently I am adding some final touches and documentation and it will be released soon. I am looking forward to listen your comments/requests.

@saimo
Very good game and really hard, which is good. I like it a lot. The only thing that I missed is joystick support on AmigaOS 4, where I tested, or might did something wrong and didn't work for me.

Keep up the good work. I also uploaded a new item at https://amiga.gr/2019/07/925/blastaway

Hey guys, we must all support Simone on Patreon so he can continue creating great games for us.

Re: APIgnosis, a new autodoc viewer for Windows, Linux and MacOS

@rigo
Thank you for testing it. It is around 170MB because. basically what you see there is a website, working like a desktop application, based on Electron and Chromium. Basically you have there a whole web browser.

The app is created with Node.js, Vue.js and Quasar as a base theme. In PC/Linux/MacOS world the electron and the Javascript are almost everywhere. Most of the latest communication apps (Viber, Skype etc.) are based on them, as well as VSCode and many many other apps.

Wish it was available for AmigaOS, but without a good JS JIT, it would be slow as dead.

APIgnosis, a new autodoc viewer for Windows, Linux and MacOS
Site Builder
Site Builder

Hello guys,
I guess there are a lot of developers, in our community, that use cross compilers in other systems, to develop applications for AmigaOS.

I started developing a new AutoDoc viewer for Windows, Linux and MacOS, that will help you read these files, in a better way. It is far from perfect right now, and I have a lot of ideas, to make it even better.

You can find information at https://bitbucket.org/walkero/apignosis/wiki/Home and download it from the releases link.

This is the first release and might have bugs. Be warned. :)

There is no way to lose any of your data. You will need to have the AutoDocs files somewhere in your hard disk. Using the top menu, you can select the folder where you have the AutoDoc files, and then a list of them will be shown. By clicking on a file, the Methods list will be updated at the bottom. Clicking on a method, all the information will be shown at the main content.

I need your feedback. Is it useful? Are you going to use it? If not, why?

Please, provide ideas, new features and bugs at https://bitbucket.org/walkero/apignosis/issues
The issues tracker doesn't require login to submit, but please, add your nickname there at the end of your message, so that I know who you are.

Have fun.

Re: Syntax highlighting -- need these?

@mritter0

That seems great. I would like to add in your list JSON, BlitzBasic and Amiga catalog file (CT, CD), but of course it's up to you if you want to support these.

Is there going to be a way for people create their own syntax highlighting, so that they can contribute to your work?

Re: Doom Sigil

I managed to have it working with prBoomPlus 2.5.1.3 by HunoPPC. I used the following command

prboom-plus -iwad DOOM.WAD -file SIGIL.wad SIGIL_COMPAT.wad

Doom Sigil

The last few hours, the new megawad from Romero himself, is avalable to buy, and in a few days it will be free. It is called Sigil, and I bought it today. (https://www.romerogames.ie/si6il)

Tried to play that on AmigaOS4 doom engine ports.

- chocolate-doom 2.2.0 starts playing it, but collapses after a few seconds with the following error
Z_Mallocfailed on allocation of 15265360 bytes

I tried to increase stack, but didn't make any change.

- prBoomGL loads it but the graphics are distorted

- Odamex gives me the following error, which I found there is a bug with that old version
LANGUAGE had 28484 strings.
This version of ZDoom expects it to have 575.

Is anyone working in a latest version of chocolate Doom, or on a different port? It would be nice to have that WAD playable in our machines.

Re: Dopus 5.92 betatest

@kas1e
I tested on my X5000/40 and I couldn't reproduce the problems as are described at https://sourceforge.net/p/dopus5allamigas/bugs/63/

The only thing that I saw is that the images open in Workbench screen, but the texts open in DOpus screen.

Tried two different USBs FAT32 formatted. Also, tried multiple different txt and jpg/png files.

I have dos v54.87

Re: VIM the editor

Maybe a configuration app would be better for that. Think about it. The user makes a default installation really fast, and there is a configuration application that helps him enable/disable things through a GUI. This can be independent project as well.

Re: VIM the editor

@kas1e and @sTix
Great work guys. I disabled the swp files from vimrc with
set noswapfile
but I feel that this is not a good idea. It would be best the file to be removed as soon as the file is closed.

Also, one problem I have is that when I switch my keyboard layout to Greek, the tonality doesn't work, although the letters are typed just fine. This happens by hitting the semicolon key (;) once and then the letter that I want to add tonality. Checked the same version of vim on Linux and this works just fine.

Thanks for the fine work you do.

Re: Open Source cross-platform game engine

How about creating only the export Engine for Gobot. I mean, if someone develops in other OSes and there is an export engine for OS4/MorphOS, this will bring the game to OS4/MorphOS as well. Like they do with Android, iOS and Web. How possible or hard do you thing this is?

@kas1e
The crashes happen on my X5000 as well. I guess the reason might be the same as huno's RTCW Reborn. What do you say?

@bszili
Do you plan to compile those games to use latest versions of GL2ES or GL4ES for AmigaOS 4, or even the Warp3D Nova? I don't know how much work needed, but I guess they will gain some speed and better graphics, based on the updated implementations.

Could you try executing the following from within your SYS:kickstart directory:

To do that I must boot with the debug kernel or not?

@Hans
Sorry I missed your request for the kernel.
I use Kernel v53.98 which is the latest beta one.

Below you can find the crashlog with the non debug kernel
