This is the 6850 which I have just installed with my X1000. i got it last year from Novatech for £95.
It runs SILENTLY and the GFXBench score is massively better than the 4850... (Which is now in my Sons PC - Until Gallium3d testing)

BUT!
The RHDRMTest_R700 demo gives a flashing grey screen.
The RHDRMTest2 (thanks Trevor) gives the error that "RHDRMTest2 needs an R6xx-R7xx chipset in order to run." This demo needs a Radeon HD 2000 - 4000 series graphics card.

Both of these demos ran on the 4850.

The advice given was via a conversation and support ticket with amigakit. I have no axe to grind and have experienced nothing but A1 service from Amigakit with every aspect of my orders that have been under their control.

Hans please do not assume that I am trying to pin blame!
I simply stated that the 4850 cards were advocated by Amigakit. They are still an option on the X1000 configuration page, although I do not think orders are being taken so this is a moot point.

I have the utmost faith in Amigakit, Aeon and you. I would not have spent nearly £2500 otherwise ;)

My main problem now is explaining to my son why his PC gaming experience has been degraded... I snaffled his 6850 for my X1000 - don't tell him!!!

An update would be nice, however if it's a case of Timberwolf update or Gallium progress, then I vote Gallium everytime!

Not to nit pick, but Amigakit were still advocating 4850 cards for X1000s when mine was built this August - 3 months ago.

Samsung ST65 digital camera is recognised and works as a PTP device.
Choose printer mode on camera after connecting it.

Yes my 4850 came as part of the complete X1000 system. I would hate for the X1000 to be left behind like this.

Can the 9250 cards that many x1000 users now have make use of Warp3d?

Nokia C2-01 mobile phone works and is rcognised as a PTP device.
I can access and transfer files perfectly.

I have an IBM USB Floppy drive. OS4 sees it as:
Vendor: YE DATA Product:FLASHBUSTER U

Has anyone had success mounting a USB floppy on the X1000?

It depends which gfx card your x1000 has. The fan on mine was very loud. I have resorted to fitting an after market passive cooler. Now my x1000 is very very quiet.

Sandisk Clip+ mp3 player is recognised and is usable as a storage device.

The analogue sticks seem to work well so far in all the WHDLoad games that I have tried. No stack issues yet.

I will try a true analogue input game like F1GP to see if it works in analogue mode.

This Game Prince Joypad from ebay (£7) works on X1000.
The joypad is just OK quality, but the buttons and sticks feel good.

Having looked at the Timberwolf readme, it is RC3 that I am running. I misinterpretd the 4.0.1 from the Timberwolf info screen.

@Lio, following your advice, simply made all the hyperlinks appear as black text. Bookmarks kind of did something (bookmark window appeared), but did not function as expected. Copy and paste still did not work and caps lock still did not produce capital letters.

The Timberwolf install is two days old, and is unmodified from the initial set up by AmigaKit.

Hi all, using Timberwolf RC1 on my X1000.
Seems that bookmarks are not working.

Also, Caps lock does not produce capital letters in timberwolf. Shift does.

As a total OS4 beginner, I don't want to break anything, so any expert advice is very welcomed.
