Thanks for that, I'll set up a seperate internet partition as well. At least it will free up some space on my work partition.
Another option to minimize disc access, is to use IMAP if provided by the account. It doesn't download the messages, only attachments when they are accessed opened. It's totaly online e-mail processing (almost everyone got broadband these days). And when accessed from several computers and even different clients, same contents are everywhere. The problem with simplemail is that it can't do gmail using IMAP and doesn't supports folder inside directories. At least not transparently enough. Here comes handy sylpheed, courtesy of Edgar. 4 IMAP accounts inside 1 window, 2 of them gmail If I had some time I would have tried to port pine/alpine, imho, the killer-client (despite having a text interface). I find the following very confusing (or am I doing something wrong?): 1. click on the book button-> "OWB Bookmarks" window pops up click on close button of the "OWB Bookmarks" window -> noting happens untill I move mouse somewhere, some times it doesn't process the event couple of secodns 2, Same happens when clicking book button inside "OWB Bookmarks" window. Close event is very ;azy, especially first occurence. Otherwise it is very convenient

@ZeroG Quote: I simply have to copy a few files to a fresh formated USB-Disk and the next time i open the root directory most of the filenames have changed to something like ?%(&iidd8, the timestamps and filesizes have changed and it shows directories, but i dont have created/copied a single directory.
I encountered same stuff with OS4.0 couple of times. In all cases I tried to d/l with aweb into the disk-on-key. I didn't manage to investigate it both times (was in hurry to take the files with me and it really pissed me off. Since then I managed without the problem, but didn't try to download onto FAT media (for me it's much easier to scp the file to some online location). Jack

No I can't, nether you. The text of the link is not necessarily the link itself, unless it was created that way. like : <a href=" http://www.amigans.net">this</a>Jack Edit: I see TSK beat me posting this idea...

@joerg Quote: But I wont implement downloads twice, it would stay that way and I'll never implement downloads correcly in OWB, at least not in the next 5 years, but implement other missing features instead.
Ok, I see. What about shift-click on the link to copy the url to the clipboard? Most modern browsers have it. Then one could have an option to take the url to whrever he desires. And do the wget manually when possible untill the download is implemented. (wget has options continue/to do partial downloads, to bypass the web cache, it's definitely better than nothing) Jack

Maybe someone will benefit from this: BTC 9029URF III works fine. It's a combo, mouse and keyboard both work. Didn't try to utilize MM keys though (the keyboard belongs to HTPC, just tried it on A1 from curiosity).

Did't see there any mentioning that there's any gui successfully ported. For all practical purposes, mplayer beats it (yes, id doesn't do dvd menus while vlc supposed to do) but it's workaround-able. And mplayer (imho) will get proper dvd menus support. Basic support already exists, requires some steps before compilation to enable it (accoording to my last attempt on linux).

Thanks for the news.
@joerg
This version doen't seem to participate in the mysterious python crashes (along with cygnix). What did change since 2.17? Any changes in networking code? (there are some suspicions that bsdsocket.library is somehow related). Neanwhile gone to reboot to see if the condition remains...
Huge thanks!
Edit: it was burst of premature optimism on my part. Something prevented python crashes. So investigation will resume. Me goes to sleep,
