Honestly, there is no need for Doom and Gloom feelings, as promoted by some.
This is indeed a very good thing to hear during these troubled times... It makes me confident that I am not waiting for nothing. So what are the next milestones? Has the pressing of OS4 final CD-ROMs for Cyberstorm PPC and AmigaOne already started? I think Acube already has the packaging ready.

This is what you can read on proostsoftware.com now:
(it's a horrible flash-site)
"24/06/2007 Amiga dev ceased Whe have received hate mails, and read several Amiga forums claiming Zombies was a hoax! This news is a shock for us, and many people should understand that racer & MDK are free projects! Whe are a small company and our 2 PC projects are prior to all! The Amiga ports have been in progress because some people at Proost software have Amiga roots. However if this damages our company name, whe have no other choice! Racer have made some good progress for Amiga if someone wants the project mail us...."
I think this must be a bad joke.

LOL! I think Rogue prefers wine, but his brother Enthilza likes beer very much. He was the one with the beer mug in the avatar, do you remember? If it was only the packaging, I could do with just the Cdrom. And the beer is no problem anyways, because it gives OS4 a great smell! BeerOS4!

@ikir Quote: On OS X is also used to accelerate quartz making the system very responsive. I didn't know this. So what do they use now with the Intels? Is there something similar to Altivec? Because OS X is still very fast on Intels.

I guess we will know what that is when the time is right.
Maybe the reason is less mysterious than some peoples think: It is not ready yet!

Better solve the basic problems first!

@Rob No. Because of unemployment, I had to sell it to a former collegue for 5000 SEK. Now it's been long enough time without OS4 and my fingers are trembling and I am longing to put my hands on it again. I have a new job and moneys to spend! At least I still have my Classic Amiga, so I am waiting for Rogue and ACube to release OS4 for it. July sounds like a good month for it, what do you think?

The laptop would look kinda funny I think! SAM is small, but it's not really the right form-factor for a laptop. But you can always try to make a wooden box around it with a small integrated keyboard and display. However, I am not too sure if you can impress business-men with it! Let's not build castles in the sky and just hope that OS4 has a future on SAM440.

If the reasons for the delay are only that it is not yet finished, then GREAT! Even if that might sound strange after 6 years of waiting. I was afraid that it is not released because of the legal stuffs. That would be sad because the bl**dy lawsuit might still take some time and I can't wait anymore! Excuse my ignorance but I thought that it was nearly finished because there were already talks about the packaging and other things in some interview. Do you already have an ETA for the CD-pressing of the CyberstormPPC versions? Keep up the good works!

Yes, but it doesn't look as if the lawsuit will be finished in this year. Without a court decision, Hyperion and ACube will not be able to do anything. And even if the court decides, it is not clear if it decides in favour of Hyperion. To be honest, the chance that we will see OS4 on SAM this year is very small. Do you know when SAM will be available for normal consumers? I am not sure if they have already sold some boards to any peoples!?

Good Stuff!
Wonder what it means to the average Amigan though?
It means absolutely nothing to the average Amigan unless SAM runs OS4. At the moment it doesn't look it for 2007 and ACube isn't even capable to release OS4 for the CyberstormPPC althought they already made some advertising for it. Delivering the promises? We'll see...

@Mlehto So it seems there isn't much connection between Kouri and the new Nokia company (mobile phones). In any case I don't think that Kouri is interested in AmigaOS or Amiga as we remember it. I only care about AmigaOS as an operating system for desktop computers. Am I being old-fashioned? For years, some peoples have proclaimed the death of the desktop computers and that everything will get integrated in wireless media terminals and smartphones. What I don't understand is why those things can't coexist. Why does the introduction of a new technology concept always mean that a classical concept like a desktop computer will become obsolete? I just don't want to have streaming media, internet on the television and all these things. I use my computer in the office room and go to my living room to watch television and play a DVD on a very cheap DVD-player. I am happy without streaming HDTV content from a domestic server. I only have one requirement, I like my television in colour, not the old black and white ones.

However, since the leaning on this forum seems to be going decidedly anti-AI, I kind of doubt that it was by accident.
I highly doubt your post was deleted because it was pro-AI. In this whole thing, I am on the side of Hyperion and you know what? Also my post in reply to derfs was deleted. So you can hardly say that there is a bias. I have no idea why my post was deleted and didn't even get an explanation via PM. Maybe this post will also get deleted again for reasons I am not aware of. To be honest, I don't mind the moderation, I just don't like that there is no way to find out the reason for moderation. A short comment or note wouldn't harm, don't you think?

"Rightful owner" has nothing to do with the matter at hand. It is what is in the contract that matters.
As for fly by night, well thats amusing since Hyperion has outlived and outlasted two incarnations of Amiga Inc now ;)
As for IP thief, you wan't to be careful how you put that, seems very close to being libellous to me.
Finally, your buying decisions are your own. But this is the first time I have seen a company attacked for improving a product beyond the expectations on a contract.
Mitch.

Thanks, I hadn't seen this comment. Very interesting but very sad. It seems like the Bolton Peck thing all over again.
We should quickly forget about Tao, which is not so hard for me since I never associated them with anything Amiga anyway.
