Since those who really know anything about this are in the middle of it and shouldn't be saying anything out side of court, and those who are not in the middle of it don't know what they're talking about, can we please let this thread go?

@Ferry Absolutely! Now they just have to figure out how to show the original where you live and the latter one where I live, and. . .

Where I am, you would need to add a bar from the top right to the bottom left of the circle for the symbol to be complete, usually with the bar being in front of what is prohibited.

@acefnq
Well, they're claiming "Winter 2007", so that at least, is 7 months which, since the OS proper is now finished, should be doable, since we're really only talking hardware abstraction stuff like drivers.
However, unlike a comment on AOrg, I wouldn't expect lots of drivers for lots of cards, since Adam wants to sell complete systems, not motherboards only.

I forget, did either party publicly announce the lawsuit, or was it first dug up by the owner of the Merlancia web site?
If it was publicly announced by either of the engaged parties, that is probably a no-no, but if it was the Merlancia guy, we should probably dial back any implications of posturing on the part of the engaged parties. As I see it, Hyperion has merely been responding to what folks like us have been saying and to what someone else made public about the suit (perhaps borderline, but let's let that pass for now). Amiga, as I see it, has simply been trying to proceed with business as much as possible, and I see both as completely understandable.

Carl had a problem with Amiga management, not amiga the computer. Make no mistakes, Amiga OS is Carls baby.
Given the correct situation I think Carl would jump at a chance to see Amiga go down the correct path.
Last time I checked, the guy that gave Amiga end users decipherable networking (Holger Kruse, Miami Deluxe), was also working for Rebol and Carl, although that has been some years now.

Let me get this straight. He's claiming that a 603e core is faster than a dual core G5 clocked at 2.5 gigahertz?!?!
The only way that makes any sense at all is if OS4 is that much faster than OSX.

@FihmpenRouk There are two IPs (or ranges) involved. The second has been blocked. Unfortunately, the first is owned by Microsoft, and is used by their search engine. It strikes me that blocking that might be a little like shooting myself in the foot. And one never knows; since they are downloading devotional stuff, perhaps they'll actually listen and learn something. What bothers me about it is that they use skulduggery and ambush instead of honesty and forthrightness. If they are investigating me, I would prefer that they come to me with their questions. It seems that what they are really doing is digging for something that their clients might be able to sue me for. Well, dig away. You can't get blood from a turnip, or money from someone who doesn't have any. As I said on another site, perhaps they'll get tired of the game and go away; I would prefer that there be fruit from this situation?spiritual fruit that would glorify God. Anyway, time to get ready for work.

They've been repeatedly downloading the same files all month long (April), and all of those files have been OGG-Vorbis. They never touched my site until I made OGGs of my own creations available. Since then they've been downloading so much that it amounts to more than three times the entire amount of content on my site, all in one month. They did nothing before that, when the same stuff was there in MP3 format. The moment OGGs became available, BAM! Here they come!
It looks suspiscious to me.

It seems someone has sicced Cyveillance on my web site. More information can be found by reading blogsey. It would be my advice to do everything you can to block this cyber-espionage group from your servers.

Hyperion?s reaction to the termination of the contract was to quickly announce that the OS is complete and will soon be available, then puts together a worldwide distribution agreement, not mentioning AI, after which they got sued by AI. I?m sorry, but to me it looks as if Hyperion wanted to get sued. It?s almost like they were rubbing AI?s nose in something. I don?t think Ben Hermans would have done that.

Details, details, folks!
December 20, 2006 the license agreement is terminated.
December 24, 2006 Hyperion announces AOS4 final.
During the following months, Hyperion and ACube announce a worldwide distribution agreement outside of Amiga, Inc.
April 26, 2007 Amiga, Inc. sues Hyperion.
Certainly, there are more details that are essential to an accurate knowledge of the situation, but from what I can see in the above details, I am having a real problem seeing how Amiga, Inc. can be faulted here.

We all need to remember a whole heck of a lot that no one is mentioning. First of all, the original agreement was done with hyperion under the leadership of a man who is no longer leading that firm. Business relations might have gone south as soon as he left the helm. We don't know anything regarding this, and it is an essential bit of information should any of us have any chance at all of being accurate in our guesses. This is just a sampling of what we don't know about this, so would it be possible to just not go off the deep end? Just wait and see what comes about.

I was just thinking how nice it would be to have an audio component that would fit with either a stereo or computer system, the device in question being a sort of audio switching center that would have multiple stereo line-level audio inputs (along with an input selector, so that you only have one input active at a time) and multiple stereo line-level audio outputs. It would be designed so that whatever source is selected for input, that signal would be made available to ALL connected output devices at once and all at good line-level. For example, it could have a couple of stereo RCA outs for cassette decks, a couple stereo-mini outs for computers, a couple of optical outs (for the audio-obsessed among us), etc.
Does anyone here know of such a device, or how hard and expensive it would be to build one?
