Re: Quick networking question

@Hans

never come across routers that don't allow static ip addresses, but i know they exist.. but to change it to static ip, it must be set at the routers settings to make it work.. if that ruter isn't accessible because of dhcp rule, then you need too unplug the dhcp master ruter from it and then change settings.. probably need to reset it first

@Hans

have seen many times there shouldn't be a lot of difference.. but ES is cleaned up code, easier to use.. but same speed and modern specs.. it's just what i have snapped up between my net-surfing:) but i have no idea lol

anyway, just readied that that game engine would be using vulkan & ES 2.0 instead of Open GL ES 3.0

they don't abandon ES 2.0..

i see.. thanks for your long and good answer.. and yea. agree with you about pc's performance.. it's just that personally i haven't been creative on pc since fastracker2 era.. but, i was/am 10x more active on my creative side when using amiga/amigaos.. don't ask me why.. it's a bug.

anyway.. would probably been to hard for me..just wanted to share my findings:)

thanks for your time

@ferrels

yea.. i kind of knew we where missing something.. anyway, reason i posted it is that i though we have got OpenGL ES 2.0 support from the radeon driver team.. don't know how this works but. isn't Open GL & OpenGL ES 2.0 two different api's the last one meant for portable devices like phones.. and it require just one of those, so you only need OpenGL ES 2.0..

anyway.. i guess it need more than we have for it.. just thought it was a very short list of things you needed.

edit: so if i got this right

opengl is for engine editor and executables/players/games only need OpenGL ES 2.0?

About Godot Engine

A game engine is a complex tool, and it is therefore difficult to present Godot in a few words. Here’s a quick synopsis, which you are free to reuse if you need a quick writeup about Godot Engine.

Godot Engine is a feature-packed, cross-platform game engine to create 2D and 3D games from a unified interface. It provides a comprehensive set of common tools, so users can focus on making games without having to reinvent the wheel. Games can be exported in one click to a number of platforms, including the major desktop platforms (Linux, macOS, Windows) as well as mobile (Android, iOS) and web-based (HTML5) platforms.

Godot is completely free and open source under the permissive MIT license. No strings attached, no royalties, nothing. Users’ games are theirs, down to the last line of engine code. Godot’s development is fully independent and community-driven, empowering users to help shape their engine to match their expectations. It is supported by the Software Freedom Conservancy not-for-profit.

@kas1e

Workbench is in fullhd 60hz

check this youtube link..

seems like the recorder change resolution on the fly and record it..if the source are using the supported screen modes

if you ask me, wouldn't have it any other way

but, check the youtube video i just made.. i recorded the video with software videorecorder so you could see.

it all happens after settlers have been closed..

okay, found two other videoes.. and uploaded them on youtube for you:)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcKnymWTE5Q
Reboot OS4.1 while recording test

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnSbKYhSgw8
(Another OS4.1 Video record test))

one thing i thought was strange when i run that last one (orginal videofile) on my pc using mediaplayer classic, when that screenmode where changed to get settlers game fullscreen it behaved strange and sometimes crashed, i had to use another player (splash pro) to be able to play without stop. so, some hardware/software is doing its thing when screenmode is changed, or at least trying to.. just isn't perfect but it does work okay..

What i did first was to buy best one i thought at that time was the "Roxio Game Capture HD Pro" the features seems to be what i wanted.. but, i found out the hard way, amigaone did not support sound using hdmi, so i hoped those analog input could be used for sound instead..

https://www.roxio.com/en/products/game-capture/hd-pro/

It did not work off course.. only either digital or analog for video+sound, that means i needed a new box that had optical input for sound as well. so i searched and did some research..

my next purchase was this "hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition Plus"

http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_hdpvr2-ge-plus.html

Which had same as Roxio but also optical in for sound.. so both signal went digital.. and finaly.. it worked perfectly.. i had no issue with it..

I recorded video with both record boxes (one without sound off course) and one with sound. Both are from same year, but maybe 4-5 months apart.

Roxio:

(go to 1:48 min to see workbench)

HD PVR

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClykaJEWEcI

(go to 2:24 minutes to see the workbench)

hope i was to any help:)

@Deniil

@Deniil

hey my friend.. long time no see.. sorry about my less committed to Amiga these past two years. just struggling with no work and need sell the house fast as possible, or they may take it..yep that bad. so i haven put all of my my hobbies on hold..

sorry this info,, just felt that i should mention it.. you haven't lost me as a Amiga users.. still have 460ex & x1000 + some a1200's..i never gonna sell..just waiting for my moment so play/read/support with my Amiga heroes on these forums :)
anyway to your question about RDesktop check that web page.. a demo version there you can try for free.
so you can test it to see if it works or not.

i did buy RDesktop since i like to have all apps that is possible to buy.. want's about all hehe.. but i managed
to get you, and it working just a few minutes, i tried really hard..i guess not hard enough.. it was terrible unstable..for me at least.it could have been better. it really does seems like a great program visually.. but test demo version first..

having said that.. i went for Amivnc, i manged it better.. after setting it up.. it worked super stable.. never disconnected.. so mmy problems was over? well..most of them.. its just wow VNC works.. little mess with having a nice clean desktop.. vnc is little big with many separate gui & program windowns..but you learn it ..

i used vnc online sometime on few days.. and did record amiga stuff on pc using a hardware recorder

good luck on your choices:) long live the amiga!!

link to the demo version under this comment ( i do think i used win10.. if its not,then win 7.

@ChrisH

agree with the issue with resizing larger then the screen, my VLC portable on pc have that issue, 40% on screen, rest is out side of view.. so i don't use that player at all unless it is a difficult file to play..
i like have a small player that stays small all the time, if i want full screen, i just double click it.. or just resize it manually.. but, thats just my way to do it..

@ChrisH

Yo! :) I didn't mean remove the auto scale completely, as i said in my first comment, most players have this as default, you need deactivate it on those media players, maybe 95% of them all.

i'm just talking about having that option, so we who don't like the auto scale can turn it off and be happy :)

@imagodespira

Hey.. well done with your media player.. it looks great, perfect for my taste really.

during the demo testing, one thing that annoys, some players have this as standard when you install it..

when you playing a video, the player will automatically resize the players window view to the original size of the video file.

for me, this is a no go.. is there anyway to have it locked at a size that you want, so player never expands a pixel when starting loads of different video clips of different resolutions..

anyway.. this is quality software guys:)

Netsurf & BookmarkToolbar
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

just a quick question, im trying put my usually links (5) into the bookmark toolbar in Netsurf so they are visible all the time.

when setting up these five bookmarks, then i save it for next time, i try both save setting & save settings in the settings windows and i snapshot it too, doing it many times, just to be sure.
but on restarting the bookmark bar is gone and so are any trace of having visit them.

if i repeat, and quit Netsurf and then start it up again, everything is working as it should, but not after restart.

i almost know what it is, but im not sure, i feel it is not saving setting to env or something, how to fix this.

thanks you

@Severin

you got a point there, but i was thinking about background picture/wallpaper that was in a way transparent, just the opus desktop, so you have visual workbench. perhaps wb icons&windows wasn't appearing but wb programs and opus listers.
maybe too choose which wb programs was allowed to show inside opus.

sorry, just sharing and idea don't take me serious
