I was thinking something a bit more current, maybe Win7. And I think a Xorro/Xena option would give some access to the host system that a PCI card may not have.

@utri007,
Thinking about that... What if you could put an old PeniumD on a Xorro Card and the out thru a PCI and be able to switch it with Xena. Of course it will need its own memory and HD.

Have had no response from Amigakit on this so I pointed the folks at SuperBase to them.

@All,
I would think it's possible both ways, It can either be an improved SBase4 with more features or A simpol port.

@Elwood, I was told the code for SB4 was very old and mostly basic. It really needs to be updated to be fast and serious.

Other versions have been completely updated but looks like they don't have any coders to update for Amiga. Am waiting to see if I get an answer from Amigakit. They would be the logical first choice. We can probably see what the modern version looks like on Linux. Lattest version looks to be called SIMPOL.

@abalaban, I am interested in it but need more information on capabilities and such. Sounds useful. I used to install smart gadgets when we had to make them ourselves. Was fun making money.

@terminills,
Their software is top notch, It would be perfect with updates to it And maybe even a choice to bundle 68K and PPC versions would bring in many paying patrons. Nice Work! You will be a legend!

@terminills,
I would pay very good for an update of the whole Final Suite! I would expect to pay at least $100 US.

@terminills,
I'm not a coder but I can come up with a chunk of money to throw at this problem. A good 68k native office suite is what almost everybody wants.

@mbrantley,
If the copyright holder is still around it would be good to get the rights of all the Final Series by bounty and update it. Charge for it on Amistore!

What I would like to see is something like they have with the creative X-fi system. You can adjust for speaker distance from your ear, Chose from many different surround formats, Dolby, DTS, etc. Able to adjust for stereo effects, Jazz Hall,Amphitheater,Delay, etc. Also record what you hear. If this can all be done with in the AHI frame work and with a decent GUI, more power to us.

Happy to hear this. Would like to see some better memory utilization in the OS but it takes time, I'll be here watching this space.

@Hans,
If system mem is spread across all cores it would be much better than 2Gb on one core and four on the other, as this would be nutz.

@Hans,
" you'll see that PCI devices (incl. VRAM), the kernel and other memory buffers take up space outside that 2GB."
So when we get SMP support will it " use only mem from the 1st core bank of mem or both cores? Therefor 3Gb avail on each core and will it auto-configure across both? Let me know if you don't understand.
