cha05e90 Icons 2010-2

A fresh, new and shiny upload of my second 64x64 pixel icon package to OS4Depot:

OS4depot link

This is the second release of new and re-worked icons fitting to the official OS4.1 Update 1 look (64x64 pixel 32Bit).

Included are more than 200 new icon files, i.e.:

- drawer icons (i.e. Upload, Database (files), MakeCD, DigitaOffice, ...),
- dock(y) icons (i.e. def_office_dock, def_disk_dock, Winbar, rNetmon ...),
- full package iconsets incl. drawer icons (i.e. SuperView5, Envoy, AmiBlitz, Real3D, Monzoom, Turbocalc, ImageFX ...),
- single application icons incl. drawer icons (i.e. ignition, A2PS, HD-Rec, PersonalPaint, Antiword, RunInUAE ...),
- special start script icons for AmiCygnix applications (i.e. Gnumeric, AAMP, Abiword, ...),
- complete AmiFIG.os4 icon and button image package*,
- complete Wet package icons (application, drawer, project and new 64x64 pixel weather icon theme)**.

While being far away from real "artwork", my icons might nevertheless be useful enough for other people, too.

* already published here: AmiFIG.os4 at OS4Depot
** already published here: Wet theme at OS4Depot

Looks like we have another budding artist amongst us.

Congrats, those icons look the fantastic. And they fit really well alongside Masons artwork too.

At this rate we'll have more icons than programs :)

@Rigo

LOL hopefully not
But we have a lot of choice for each app, 5-6 icons for SRec, a couple for Wet and so on ...

That's remember me that I need to update my SH-Icons set ...

Thanx Chaos! Very well done.

@samo79

but as it seems to me, Chaos is enhancing Masons work. In fact in this archive I could find only one icon overlapping, namely the cputemp-docky-icon, I suppose he started the work before of the last Mason release. Other than that, the PicShow set is now complete, in fact Martin had painted the main program icon but not the rest..

Maybe our beloved artists are working together..

cheers!

Because Mason's school (movement, style) icon art is gaining followers. Icon masonism?

why ?:)

Oh, that's easy to explain:

After the appearance of Update 1 we got a new, bigger icon style. And I really couldn't stand that crude mixture of new 64x64, old 46x46 (and even older OS3.x style) icons after some ... minutes...
Like on my OS3.9 machines I wanted a nice and harmonic icon style throughout my whole OS4.1 systems, and to achieve this I followed and obeyed to the "official AmigaOS4.1.1 icon style". Which leads automagically to: Martin 'mason' Merz' style, 'cos he's the official OS artist and designer. So, strictly spoken, I don't follow Martin, but the OS' icon style (which is of course the same in this regards...).

BTW: Rigo and Samo are right - Martin and me did some "double" work and now we have at minimum two variants of OS4.1.1-style icons for some packages and applications. I must admit that it made me smile when I saw Martin's last August release of his artwork... To be truthfull: I made the (maybe) false assumption that Martin might not have the time (heavily working on AISS, PushDock and supporting developers with new icons) and motivation to "re-work" all his 46x46 icons he did in the past - so my aim was to jump into this "gap".

To sum it up: For me Martin is the *lead designer and artist* when it comes to OS4.1 icons. I'm only a scientist working as an engineer who tries to follow his huge footprints he did for OS4.1... (and I still consider my own work as amateurish compared to Martin's *real* artwork).

Martin is a true Pixel-Magician, but don't sell yourself short, your icons are looking pretty fabulous too (possibly helped by the fact they look like Martins :D )

Great icon. Maybe a cooperation between mason and chaos to make bigger icons and use the idea of "the wanderer" about scalability.
