Empty .CT strings
Just popping in

With each new version of my program I add new locale strings. But I don't hear back from some of my translators before I want to release it.

So I copied the new empty strings to each language .ct file. Ran CatComp to make the .catalogs. It errors with "non-empty string translated to empty string."

I was hoping since the string in the .catalog file was blank it would use the internal English string.

Is there a way around this?

Yes, just leave the unstranslated strings out of the .ct file completely.

Then the strings from the 'internal catalog' will be used when the missing strings can't be found in the translation.

If you put blank strings in the translation then the translatin will be blank (or it will warn / error as you described) this isn't what you want.
