Well it looks like we have Skype working on AmigaOS using latest Amicygnix. It needs more love but its working. Finally we can communicate with the rest of the world :)

Super, there has been no new news in the Amicygnix topic for a very long time. Can I expect other programs to be updated in addition to Pigdin?

I think so but i dont know when. I have a new basepackage wich fixes the graphic problem with newer graphiccards etc. I also got latest Pidgin with a working Skype.

Yes, after getting my new X5000, development of AmiCygnix continues.
A new base package is under development, which fixes several bugs.
Also updates of the software packages are planned.

There have been some more updates.

* Facebook protocol (update to latest version 0.9.5 of purple-facebook)

* Twitter protocol (update to latest version 0.14.0)

* Discord protocol (new, version 0.9)

* Screenshot for sending screenshot using FTP or HTTP (new)

I hope we can get purple-hangouts ported to we can start use Hangous for communications. And there is a nasty bug when you try to transfer files to a user.

Audio and video support ist still not implemented in the Amicygnix version of Pidgin, sorry. So only the chat feature is available.
Audio / video needs "gstreamer", which is hard to port.

Unfortunately this port doesn't work.

There are much things missing including a driver for Webcams on OS4 for example.
Audio would be much easier, but I don't know, which kind of microphone could be used.
GStreamer is really a beast, which has it's own drivers and dependencies.

Audio would be nice if its possible. G+ and hangout will be closed down in 2019 so maybe its just a waste of time to make it work.
